at least we dont have to just google armor to know how much we need. If i see that right, if youre lvl 100 and look into your charactersheet, it will show you 85% reduction when reaching 9230 armor. Even if you dont know the exact amount, just looking at your charscreen will tell you if youre capped or not. Big plus for casuals tbh.
information like this should always be available in the game. they should do this for more stuff like attack speed

Plus for casuals L for guys like me who have to work hard on builds. They simplified this game so much a dunce could play it. Zero creativity on all the crybabies who can't figure out simple mechanics.
@@Swag-Twitch L overall even id say. The representation of stats is bad since forever. Even d2 already needed you to google the fhr/fcr and all other breakpoints without ever telling you, that breakpoints even exist…

I would say that you can still use Juggernaut in one piece to reach the armor cap and then not have a single armor affix in any piece
So glad they did this so I can ditch Juggernaut and gain a lot of mobility with evade as a Rogue. Been trying t100 nmd these days with 9005 armor and doing fine (yeah I have Shako and Doombringer but still, when s4 will release it’s going to be even better).
This season is going to be such a nice change of pace. Hope they don't mess it up with S5

Its actually harder than what wudijo is saying because he has it set to where all the gear is masterworked to max lv12. So if 1 level of masterwork adds 5%, that means a maxed masterworked item adds +45% to an affix, without any crit bonuses. So if an item he shows here adds 145 dex for example, the item is probably at 100 dex to start with. You have to work your way up to get the rolls he displays here. I believe all his rolls are maxed as well so there's that.

For Necro if you stack Intelligence you need 3 skulls and one greater affix with armor plus few paragon nodes to be capped on res and armor.

Love this change. How many times did I pass up a piece of gear that was perfect except it didn't have the mandatory %Armor affix on it.
That is irrelevant as all items will be 925 in s4

Hey Wudi, 13:38 Why did you say "you don't really need DR in the future, just armor and res" ? I mean , in the last PTR with Armor and Res cap and 45k LIFE I died/ one shotted superasy by non boss mobs in T70 Pit . They said that mobs will be harder and stronger so I think the DR is the most important stat and mandatory
I had 15,000 armor 20,000 life and resistances capped and was still getting killed way too easy and I wasn’t even playing the harder content. Struggling just to get through level 60 nightmare dungeons.
they removed DR from armour as an affix, before you used to be able to get damage reduction from close, distant, bleeding etc. It is now basically only found on uniques like Tibaults Will.

i think you just need one Diamond at max in your gear to reach max Resistances with a Sorc. With all that boosted Resistance on your Amulett/Ring Slots and the Greater Affixes / masterworking (maybe ~1400 Int) with the upcoming patch, it should be very easy to cap. Easy Skulls to get the 1k or 1,5k Armor.
Exactly what I was thinking. You rarely need diamonds as a sorc.
The armor change definitely makes it where you can actually run a different aspect now My make it interesting what new stuff we put there instead.
so physical dmg of enemies above lvl 100+ won’t hurt you more? … or they do more dmg to you, and you no longer can get more armor to do anything about it?
You never could. You always had armor cap of 85 % reduction you just had to have more and more armor to match it, now you dont. As before you need different dmg reduction/max life etc.
@@EctAmon either i don’t understand your explanation or your not answering the question. Because i have the same question actually. Do mobs at levels 100+ do more damage now because armor is capped (and we are resistance capped)?
These are made up numbers, but basically, the old system was that a level 100 mob does 100 dmg, and at 9k armor, it was reduced by 85% (15 dmg), a lvl 200 mob did 200 base damage AND required more armor for equal mitigation, so that 9k would only get you, say 60% reduction (80 net damage). Now with the armor cap, you mitigate 85% no matter how high the monster level. So that 200 mob still does higher base damage, but it would get the same 85% mitigation as 100 mobs, so in my made up number example, the level 100 mob still does 15 net damage, but the level 200 that used to do 80 net damage now does 30.

There is any effect in game that debuff armor? Enemies, Bosses, traps, etc. If yes, maybe having something like ~20% above the cap can be useful to avoid being one-shotted in those cases.

I honestly love this change. Having to overlap armor and not know exactly how much you need for what mob levels you are fighting was just annoying. The fact I can also never use disobedience again is very refreshing cause as a hc player when those disobedience stacks fell off... it could get very sketchy. This aspect will solve your issues until you get perfect gear and once you get those armor rolls and 925 armor. You can just forget about it and focus on other things that actually matter.
I'm hoping once they have a tool tip or something showing the cap.. that they change this to scaling again. I don't think this change would have been necessary if we actually knew in game what our % was. Should be able to build for easier or harder content and spec accordingly.

What is the current Armor cap in season 3?? Seeing different numbers thrown around like 13k, 13.2k, 13.4k, 13.5k, 13.7k.... does anyone know the definitive number? Started at 14k and came all the way down to 13.2k and it still says reduces physical damage taken by 85%.

It is just like the pestilent points that is only useable with Puncture … i wish they replace it and make it work on every basic attack , it’ll give us more diversity …
Pretty much all builds have to use Puncture to make it work … pretty sad .

So the old +All Stats affix roll got completely axed on rare/legendary gear?
the armor changes didnt change much, before you put jugg and solved it, now you solve it with a couple affixes... There wasnt any "journey" to it before either
I would like to see how they reworked razor plate. If they lowered the thorns. Also something I noticed is razorplate when upgraded did not increase the thorns affix. But every other affix went up. Now it has 4 thorns affixes curious to see if they go with 3.5-5k on each affix or now with the new unique aspect maybe they go with like 2k each
Let’s say I don’t make it to end game or more likely just don’t have enough crafting materials to masterwork are items going to be junk if they don’t get masterworked ?

I don’t get the armor cap logic a bit. Capping the armor means you are fine with the same amount of armor to fight 100 and 200 lvl monsters. It’s like after some level this stat does not matter at all
Armor above cap should give some benefits, otherwise it's very questionable decision
Unless there are a lot of armor breaker ads being introduced to the game. This would be a way to tell the players, "hey! This is where you get max reduction from physical."
It's in response to what they said in the latest chat stream; it's to help cope with what people were saying on the PTR regarding the Pit. At a certain point, it's too easy to get one-shotted.
Recall that difficulties are managed by modifiers on monsters themselves to ignore, for example, 60% resistances. Giving the devs the benefit of the doubt I imagine that they are capping the monster affix to the lvl 100 ignore armor value
@@dublinduster its just the same as resistances now. Defensive itemisation will just be cap armor and resistances and get max health on the remaining item slots.
it's not correct totally, as it didn't mention about DR, and i doubt the 12500 for level 100 on 85%. farming good DR(with recoll ) for most of loot or player, around at least 20% each . i have a build that give 69% close DR, but still get one shot killed on explosive dmg with armor over 20K.
in what universe does any build need 20k armor, its around 16.4k cap vs pit tier 200 enemies, that's 4k armor worth of investment u could've put into HP
Try "damage reduction" instead of "close damage reduction." The easiest test is use a H.Crest as it has 20%DR. ... I got a total of 62%DR and those explosions aren't noticeable anymore unless a lot happen at the same time.

So you just stack damage now and ignore all of the resistance based aspects, paragon nodes and glyphs since with 925 armor you're at armor cap.
9230 armor and that only covers physical damage reduction only. You’ll still want to cap your other resistances at 70% or higher if you use an elixir.
i don't think it was that hard to hit the 16k armor cap on PTR. my blight necro on ptr had liked 23k armor 😅

No, it does not. They want to deliver player choice on how you cap armor. The more ways to do it - the better, so you can also focus on other defenses, etc.

@@NeCoNLive what he says is wrong. He missed the other slide showing armor cap for monster level 150. Don't trust everything you see. I would definitely enjoy seeing the surprise deaths by people, who underestimate armor.

Wudi tried to nerf everything, that's practically why nobody is playing the game. Every season nerf nerf nerf
They are nerfing too much and not buffing enough. For me I just never feel like I’m getting powerful because of the leveling scaling. Every time I level up so do the monsters it sucks cause I want to get stronger and stronger the more I play.
What happens to exisiting gear with defensive aspects?

This cap wont matter if armor breaker ads are introduced into the game. You will still need to go above the cap ... to BE at the "cap" if your armor is "reduced by 35% for 6 seconds."

Juggernaut doesn’t work if you rely heavily on your evade. I don’t like that it slows down the evade cooldown it makes me feel like every time we get something strong it’s going to have a stupid penalty like some kind of kiss curse crap. We don’t need to be penalized for trying to use something. They did the same thing to metamorphosis. Also yes people still want to evade a lot I’m doing it almost constantly it’s not just for movement it’s for defense I use it to get out of trouble.

The devs were very clear that you will only need 9230 armor to cap phys DR for all monster levels above level 100. You’ll only need more if you get a debuff on armor from a monster or a dungeon debuff. I don’t know if that is still in the game.

Why do they create artificial caps if you could literally break the caps relatively easy in some cases? If there's a cap, id prefer the number just stay at the cap instead of go over and be useless...but im not a retarded developer just an intellectual gamer
