The problem is none likes taking risks anymore. When Lucas was running things people would approach him and be like hey would it be cool if we did thid with Star Wars and he would say sure. Thats how we got so many games, since Disney is a comany its not like you can roll up to Kathleen Kennedy's or Bob Iger's office and say hey lets do this theyh have bosses too. Lucas had no bosses
It is sad how much the legacy of Star Wars games have been tainted over EA's singular blunder. I sincerely hope Battlefront breaks its Third Game Curse and we one day get a true successor to live up the Star Wars universe in a way we can all love.
Yes to 'indie' Star Wars! I personally would love Star Wars to tackle the pixel graphic aesthetic again with a side-scroller like the Super Star Wars series from the Super Nintendo.
@@kingorange7739in some ways I agree too, but why I would disagree is that for a company to make a game like that would be a risk. Not because it's hard to make, but that people think that indies make a lot of money but they really don't. They don't appeal to most gamers, only a small group and so it's a risk in that a company just wouldn't make enough money to make more projects. We see that with the Little Nightmares series, Hollowknight, dead cells, etc. All games that had to be released for free on subscriptions. And it's because people want to spend money on things that they can get the most out of. The next big title instead of a smaller title.
SW The Old Republic is getting new content after how much, 10-15 years? Im really surprised And you can play it for free and experience multiple stories without paying at all
here's the thing. swtor makes the player experience horrid as long as they aren't subscribed, even if they previously were. such as limiting your ability to make currency, thus making the repairs needed to continue playing with reasonable stats unreasonably difficult
That's why I currently stick to older SW Games, love to replay them... If I want some fresh air I'll get a party together and Play some Boardgames oder Run a Campaign... I'm glad we have a Star Wars TCG Again, but not I'm worried about it's future... It's nothing to compare with videogames... But it's nice to bring star Wars fans together at our LGS and play some old school Tabletops:) Have you any experience at Saga or FFG? Maybe make a video about it? I'd be interested in your opinion:)
With how big Star Wars is as a franchise there's just so much room for innovation and experimentation especially when it comes to their games. For example Jedi: Fallen Order wasn't ground breaking or anything but rather than being a cheap attempt at mimicking other souls-likes, it did enough to stand out and felt like a unique take on the genre, which was improved upon even more in Jedi: Survivor. Even just a slight change to the formula felt so refreshing and I can only imaging how amazing it'd be if Disney did learn something from Visions especially if they were to implement something like Riot Forge (RIP).

More than a singular blunder, that's for sure

In some ways I agree. Graphics does not make a great game, gameplay does.

along with locking content you should have had with the dlc behind more money
