I bought my girlfriend a car 2 years ago for $800 because that's literally all we had. It's a 2000 Celica with 202,000 miles on the clock and we've put between 20-25k on it in the 2 years. I recommend a Celica to everybody. SUPER RELIABLE!
Every single time I watch these videos..I'm always overly excited and very impressed by multi different directions Brad and Squid always take to surprise their viewers.. Keep it up guys.Hoorah from Houston Texas.US Navy..
I have onë and I love it, I recommend it. When the variable valve timing kicks in, it’s such a blast and the way it sounds when you start her up is amazing. Th car is spacious and and fun to drive. Please get it :)
Owned one for 6 years, wouldn't touch one with my dads dick. Even standard form it was gutless and unreliable, electronics fail like no tomorrow and being a luxury euro car parts are expensive. Only thing it's good for is the 2JZ to swap into something else. Sold mine 2 years back for $800
If and when I may get old I am still staying away from Luxury cars... I will for as long as it's available buying a manual transmission. Though, performance handling is top priority. Currently, I drive a 2016 Mustang and I wanted a white one with a Manual Transmission, though, they were basic fleet rental type without safety features. So I got the black performance pack with Magneride Suspension and it's awesome it doesn't lean on hard cornering, or dip under hard breaking. They said it would take 6 months to spec the car in November 2015. Prior to COVID-19, imagine now with no chips for control modules or infotainment centers. Thanks for sharing 🙋👍🏎🏁
I think it might be worth saying that the one you listed is a V6. Yes, the V6 SN95 is powerful, reliable and underrated, but you did say GT. It is still possible to find a GT under 3k, at least in the south. Great job man! I enjoy watching your videos man.
I think that it was this channel that convinced me to get a GS300 two years ago and have not been disappointed. Great cheap platform that I am turning into a weekend track day warrior. Thanks guys
They’re kinda rare but I got a 2004 Volkswagen Jetta gli for $2000 and it’s lasted me a year with minimal issues. Has the weight of a Miata along with a cool sounding turbo especially if you get a air intake
same xD. but yea, sparing money, even found myself new better payd work, and if im gonna keep sparing (wish me luck please, because im bad at keepin money) i will have money for license in just 3/4 months. lets just hope we all pass it on first attempt.

Old Chevy Tracker ain't so bad either (basically a grand Vitara under the hood). Could get one with the V6 motor pretty cheap and parts would be available too Caz it's Chevy.
Ayyyy! Excided to see the Matrix on the list! Have had my 05 manual for about 10 years now and it's been fantastically reliable and is just fun enough to wring out every once in a while.
Same here but mines a 09 I’ve put about 50k miles on it since I got it, it’s has 208,000 on it in total. The only thing I have done on it is replace the aux port and fix the rattling exhaust with a hose clamp.
Family owns both a 72 beetle and a 98 ram 1500. The beetle is easy to work on and fun to drive and the 1500 is parked in the yard with transmission issues.
@@beepeefromabove1592 I have a 1500, avoid the 4l60e or make sure its rebuilt at least. I just rebuilt mine and did the upgrades to make it bulletproof. The 4.8s have a bit less power however they are more reliable.

Chevy Astro Van, early model Chevy Express van, Ford Econoline with 4WD, if you can find one and afford it they are sorta gutless but have enough power to go on a lot of basic trails is a Toyota Previa Altrac which is AWD. I personally own a previa it’s got a lot of songs unfortunately because I’m a young idiot but it still runs great and has All terrains and soon maybe a 2 inch lift kit because they come from the factory with 5.9 inches of ground clearance and with a 2 inch lift kit you get 7.9 inches which will be almost good enough for a decent amount of off-roading don’t expect it to be a rock crawler or Moab advance trails or maybe it could haven’t taken one there personally and they also tow pretty decently as well. Gas mileage is mediocre as well but overall they are a kickass minivan that you can turn into a camper van pretty cheap and it could go on most camping trails too with the right mods.
I'm thinking the same thing. I've never owned a car like that, and I think it's time I tried one out (although I may have to go for the GS400 instead.)
Only complaint we had with the Freestyle was the $1800 it cost to have the struts replaced. The fronts you can do your self but the rears were a nightmare.
I have a 2000 GS300 and I have rebuilt it from the ground up. All that is left is suspension and wheels and a lil interior work. But I love my GS. It's never let me down in the 9 years I have had it.
I’m currently driving my 2003 Lexus gs300 because my 2018 Dodge Charger is in the shop . It’s my back up car and I could always count on it to never brake down .
Beware, you might get addicted to Chevy Small Block syndrome, where you compare every engine in existence to the Chevy 350 and claim that nothing is as good.
I actually had a GS300 I bought as my first car last year haha, it was a 1 owner babied by some old guy, 106000 miles, and I paid 3300 for it. I still regret selling it to this day, but I sold it to put money into my sportcross.
