How To Use A Capture Card (Stream & Record Console Games)

- Today's guide I show you how to setup and use a capture card in order to stream and record your console games. I'm using an Elgato HD60S in this video, but you can use the newer Elgato HD60X model if you'd like. This will work for OBS Studio, Streamlabs, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and any console of your choosing. If you're using a PS4 or PS5 then you'll need to disable HDCP under your system hdmi settings on your console.

@@CpawsMusic I have a mic and a headset to speak and to listen, do I need a hd capture card that has mic plug ins or can I still capture game audio and voice through me just plugging it into my ps5/gaming laptop bc my Elgato only has hdmi in and hdmi out and a A/V in port it likes a big circle if this makes sense I wanna record audio and my voice but my hdmi has not mic ports only two hdmi and an A/V in port thank you I hope this makes sense

You definitely can! But the setup process might look a little different, make sure to read the instructions that your capture card came with
I have this issue where I can’t get my desktop audio to function and when I remove source to fix it I get a black screen and it’s a bunch of crap because it happens a lot my capture card worked well with obs sometimes but obs is so unbelievable and glitchy
I'd recommend contacting elgato support since they can get to the bottom of that issue :D
@@CpawsMusic lol i have a amazon budget capture card its a pacoxi one and i paid like 38 dollars for it it was the fourth one i bought and first one that worked well out of all of my previous budget capture cards, I guess I'll contact Pacoxi then thank you 👍

I have an Elgato HD X and I have it all set up and everything. But when I got on OBS the picture lags and freezes then the screen turned green. Idk what I’m doing wrong
I'd recommend reaching out to elgato support since it could be a few things

Can also try setting the console audio settings to come out of both the headset and speakers

I need a video on how to stop streamlab alerts on my alert box without getting rid of my donation alert on streamlabs ive tried everything
You can simply go to each type of alert (follow etc.) and disable them - leave the donation alert enabled. (make sure to hit save after making these changes)

What about the audio
It should pop up when your add the video capture device source, but if it doesn't then you can double click that source and enable custom audio device
