Minimal to be honest. The pass through is slightly better on the X with frame rate support up to 240 @ 1080p but only noticeable if you have the monitor to back that up. The x can also capture HDR but honestly if you were using it primarily for twitch streaming both can do max twitch settings without issue anyway 🤷♂️
Do we still need the elgato pc software to use it I still own the rectangle model that's not available anymore basically the first model that's what I've been using 😅
It’s pretty big upgrade from the HD. You don’t need the Elgato software, I just plugged it in and windows knew what it was immediately. So I guess as long as there’s an internet connection to install drivers your good
if you plan on insaine dual pc setup i would never use a external capture card at all get Elgato Game Capture 4K Pro or the older mk2. i love your video
Minimal, I use a Elgato HD60 X normally and couldn’t tell the difference between that and the neo. I can play most game just watching the capture, I only notice the delay when playing FPS games
I've looked at other videos but there's not a lot of video on the neo. I've seen with the other models it has something you can plug a chat link cable in
i was gonna get the mk2 pro but do u think this is a better choice for just using it for streaming on twitch and tiktok becuz i am only using 1080p with 60 fps? also great video and keep going
The only thing to consider is if the monitor your playing on is a high refresh rate like 240 at 1440+ you won’t be able to get that pass through on the neo vs mk2. Otherwise yeah, the neo will be fine
Im really knew to all this technology and im trying to get into streaming i recently got this as a gift and had some questions on whether or not it would work for my set up or not but basically I have a ps5 i would like to capture games on and a gaming laptop that i would like to stream those ps5 games through basically I would like to know whether this would be a fit for me if i play 120fps games on my ps5 will it work for streaming if the neo is capped at 60 fps? I have no clue how any of this works but im trying to understand if it would be possible to play a 120 fps game while streaming through my laptop with this capture card if its capped at 60 fps for streaming
Hey, the simple answer is pass through, the capture device will pass the signal to your monitor/Tv at 1080p 120fps while capturing 1080p 60fps on your computer. Pass through will do 1080p upto 120fps and upto 4K at 60fps.
@@zombieslvbacon thank you very much! Definitely going to try giving this one a shot. I have a few other HDMI to USB devices but they won't capture the stero sound.
Both bout the same honestly. Neo has better pass-through so if your going for 4K pass-though go the Neo if you don't care about that then they are pretty much the same.
I usually stream retro videogames with an ossc upscaler and there are some games that change resolution when going into the menus, is the elgato neo capable of managing those resolution changes?
I’m planning to buy this to play on my iPad (Air 5) as an output for my Switch or PS5. I was wondering if it’ll even work to get in with after looking at the images on Amazon
How would this work for using a Xbox series x, 4k 120hz? Perfectly fine with recording 1080p, I just don’t want there to be any impact to quality on the tv while I play.
The Neo passthrough is: 2160p60, 1440p60, 1080p60, High Dynamic Range (HDR) Compared to the HD 60 X 2160p60, 1440p120, 1080p240, Variable Refresh Rate(VRR), High Dynamic Range (HDR)
If you are talking about playing the game in the capture window of the Pc you will have some input lag. Best played with pass through on another monitor or if you have a single monitor, hit record and change the input to pass through
I got my Elgato Neo today but I haven't used it yet due to complications on setting it up and every tutorial I come accross is rushed and isnt explained well even on Elgato's website I can't find an easy explanation on my end, Hence I'm new to this Elgato stuff.
Good to use this card while live streaming? i know u mentioned streaming on twitch near the end of the video. How does this compare to the HD60X While live streaming not just recording.
My main card is a HD60X, the simple answer is yes, stream 1080p at 60fps without issue, this is twitch’s “max” settings anyway - if for some reason you want to stream higher than that (RUclips can do higher as an example) you will need to look at other options. The streaming side of things the hd60 range and neo range are pretty similar. (I use the X on my main machine and neo on my portable machine both export the same image when it comes to twitch)
I'm not sure what your trying to do here. It has pass-through meaning whats plugged into the Neo and comes out the Neo to your monitor is pretty much the same. I do use a splitter to split to the capture and the monitor separate and that works.
elgato lies about the 0% lag there all cap man all my captures the elgato hd 60 x lag my elgato hd 60 pro lag my elgato hd 60 pro mk2.4k lag over 30 min of recording or streaming
Dude i play on ps5 can i connect it and play normally without effecting the latency on the tv when i play?
@@Wael911iii passthough is fine, just the capture on your pc that will be lower specs.
Please what’s the concrete difference with HD60x ?
I’m thinking about returning mine
same I just bought it literally one day ago if its the same / and or better internals I'm immediately returning it without even opening it

does it have high refreshrates in lower resulutions like 1080p 144hz in passthrough?
Nope, you’ll need the HD60 X for higher refresh rates.
if you plan on insaine dual pc setup i would never use a external capture card at all get Elgato Game Capture 4K Pro or the older mk2. i love your video
I’m thinking of getting this one.
This does support ipad gameplay on laptop right.??
yes
How is it's latency between gameplay, and the capture display?
Minimal, I use a Elgato HD60 X normally and couldn’t tell the difference between that and the neo. I can play most game just watching the capture, I only notice the delay when playing FPS games
How would you record game audio and party chat with this?
I've looked at other videos but there's not a lot of video on the neo. I've seen with the other models it has something you can plug a chat link cable in
Does this record the gameplay and audio from a Nintendo Switch?
Yes, via hdmi
Sweet! than I guess I’ll pick this up soon. But I have an other question 😅 what is the chatlink pro for?
i was gonna get the mk2 pro but do u think this is a better choice for just using it for streaming on twitch and tiktok becuz i am only using 1080p with 60 fps? also great video and keep going

mk2 is a pro capture card that also can be mused with multible apps at once but the neo is simple and good price go for it
@zombieslvbacon so, if my monitor is 240hz 1440 I won't see any picture?
Im really knew to all this technology and im trying to get into streaming i recently got this as a gift and had some questions on whether or not it would work for my set up or not but basically I have a ps5 i would like to capture games on and a gaming laptop that i would like to stream those ps5 games through basically I would like to know whether this would be a fit for me if i play 120fps games on my ps5 will it work for streaming if the neo is capped at 60 fps? the HDMI audio is stereo

elgato website says it can passthrough at 1080 60fps, 1080 120fps, and 4k 60fps. is this not the case?
Pass through yes

I have mine all connected but it says no signal on my laptop. Do you have a suggestion what the problem could be?
For $90 you can get the EVGA XR1 lite
I don't know this one, The retailer here in aus i can see stocking it sell its for $230
How can I record the audio mic from my console, this capture doesnt have access for mic
You wouldn't use the Neo for that.
right now it cost 93 $ in norway 👍
Compare to capture cards with ms2131 chip, it's huge and expensive. I'm wondering if it provide better image quality.
I’m planning to buy this to play on my iPad (Air 5) as an output for my Switch or PS5. I was wondering if it’ll even work to get in with after looking at the images on Amazon
As in you want to capture it on your IPad? I believe it works provided you have a connection? USB-c to usb-c/lightning that are not included

I have mine on order. I will be using it with my Xbox. I am interested to see if ARC works with my AppleTV
I am getting no signal in OBS and QuickTime. I have asked Elgato support for help.
Is it possible to connect the capture card with 2nd HDMI output, while the 1st HDMI still output the signal to my monitor directly?

you could with splitter but why would you not passtruth when is has that?
when i plug it into my pc my fps doesn’t go passed 60 when im playing in a game is that bc of my capture card?
As in the game plugged into your Elgato only shows as 60fps on your computer?

well the common factor here would be you. better check your set up. I've had no issues with the HD60 S, HD60 x, pro Mk2. All work fine
I never had issues
I’ve used all the capture cards prior to the Neo and never had lag as well. Except for on a lower spec PC once.
You need a powerful enough pc to have no lag
