@@jctheiisaw them in Seattle on the last show of the headline tour, I’m pretty sure every single person in the room was sobbing. What an incredible artistic achievement.
I lost my wife 2 years ago, cancer, a long struggle, after which emptiness, loneliness, anger, depression and indifference, I have been listening to Lorna Shore for a long time, I love this band and deathcore, but how this trilogy hit me right in my heart, I could spend hours lie on the floor and just cry, screaming into the darkness, for me - this is more than just songs, this is exactly what has been going on in my soul all these years, there were several suicide attempts before, now only music saves me from the last step into the abyss.
I'm sorry for your loss my friend, having lost family members by that fvcking illness, I have gone through some dark places as well, and currently trying to get through a dissociative period, be strong man, be strong.....
Just a note: Each video depicts different elements, water, snow, and fire. At the end of the 3rd song, the same orchestral melody that started the trilogy, finished the trilogy, and at the end, he ties all three song names into one. Dancing like flames after all I’ve done, I’ll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire. Destructively beautifully written
it's brilliant on so many levels. This trilogy is one of the most important things to happen to heavy metal; indeed music at large, in years. That's just my opinion but I'm pretty sure a lot of people would agree with that statement.
Do you know that it is snow and not ashes that is supposed to be the second one? Part I and III both have flames in it and the red thread in the song is the burning. I am not really sure where the snow comes in. I am bot saying you are wrong however for me it makes more sence if the particles falling in part II is ashes. Would have been really interesting to hear the band talk about it.
If you were to edit the footage together, cutting out the end bumpers and stitch exactly where the next track begins it flows perfectly as if conjoined CD tracks smoothly transitioning into each other like a human centipede of music. Now THERE'S a mental image I wish I hadn't conjured. Whoops, too late now. Now others have to experience the discomfort of the simile. @@Wagwanfam69
I am 70 years old and I cried. This is a very powerful, emotional song. I love Will Ramos. There is no other voice like his and that can do what he can do vocally. Thanks for showing emotion. It was very appropriate. You offered a great perspective and thoughts. Powerful! Love your videos.
If you would’ve told me 10 years ago that a deathcore song could make me cry, I would’ve called you insane. The entire album is a masterpiece and deserves all of the praise it’s received.
The openness of the metal community after these songs dropped was astounding. There was so much love and support from everyone to those who were opening up about ideations or surviving. It really opened up a great dialogue.
This band, and maybe in particular these songs, really opened the door for analyzing and understanding the genre and vocals more. This trilogy is so beautiful, everybody wants to see it for themselves
Usually I avoid these type of songs\bands since all the roars and shrieks give me anxiety, but thanks to Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice, I gave them a try with this trilogy and I don't know if it's just them, the heartbreakingly beautiful lyrics or Will's ability to keep his voice clear enough for me to actually understand what he's saying, that made me really sad instead of anxious
Metal has something that I would say other genres do not have, especially when dealing with emotional subjects like this. The ability to express the pure rage that can be bubbling below the surface of someone who is heart broken or dealing with a loss like this. What I think makes it unique as well is they do not paint it as something wrong or evil but something human and reasonable.
People don't realize how truly important this is, we treat mental health like people are defective, and this starts to paint the beautiful real picture that truly is affected by it, and I'm laughing my ass off that all the judgemental jackasses have to swallow the pill that the source of this is a death core song. The way this was constructed was absolutely perfect, it's supposed to hurt, of course he's screaming, he's in the most agonizing moments of his life, I think this might be the most important 20 minutes of musical history.
THIS. The way the first song ended so abruptly and you had that moment of shock and went "...wait...It's not supposed to end like that..." The abrupt ending was meant to mirror how our loved ones can just leave our lives so suddenly; and we just sit there stunned, saying "...wait...It's not supposed to end like that..." Christ their story telling and decision making with this EP was phenomenal.
well sure but its only because all 3 songs are meant to be played back to back, they blend into eachother as one seemless story, the abrupt end is only in the music videos.
You also have the weather in the background reflecting the different emotions you feel after losing someone like that. Almost like the different stages of grief.
@@IvyDoomsdayyes, that was the decision on the direction of the videos, its still done on purpose they could very well have faded out the guitar intro of the other song and give it a somewhat normal ending
This trilogy is hands down one of the best musical arrangments I've ever heard. It's a damn shame how many people won't hear this due to the genre being very niche.
I am mystified by this. It’s not genre that’s the problem. I have no idea why people are reacting to this with tears. Is Will Ramos actually saying/singing words? Are they lyrics or is he making random sounds? I cannot detect a word 🤷♀️
Little pointer: The very last lyrics of Part III are the titles of all three parts. For me, it encapsuled the entire trilogy perfectly, and holy moly, I tear up on all of this every single time.
Kudos to the actors in these videos too. The male actor really put his all into his performance, he really embodied Will's words. Youd swear they were his own thoughts. I love this trilogy, and this entire album is a masterpiece. I think Lorna Shore and Will have brought the genre out of shadows and given it the "mainstream" attention it deserves while also pushing its boundaries and not sacrificing its heart and fury which is quite a feat.
Some people may fear, that these 3 videos could lead vulnerable and mentally unstable persons into solving their problems by unaliving themselves. I'm dealing with depression almost 35 years now and this trilogy made me cry, but especially the reactions and the comments told me, that this could not be my way to get out of the black veil. Thank you Lorna Shore and all you metalheads!!! ❤
I honor Lorna Shore to have the balls for speaking the world how it is. I believe the constant censor is a much bigger danger than showing it how it really is. Thanks for speaking up bro/sis.
“The world is better with you in it, don’t go” Ken you are such a treasure, not only for your valuable insight into the arts but also as a kind human. I appreciate you
the guitar solo in part 1 has so much emotion in it and then the part coming out of it just hits like a ton of bricks. The lyrics, the visuals, the orchestration, will screaming like his life depends on it... it wrecks everyone and rightfully so.
Ken, I have so much respect for you to have ventured into this trilogy that’s of a genre that’s very much not necessarily the sort of thing that you personally might choose to listen to on, say, a Sunday afternoon-and for you to have embraced this series with such open arms. And just to add: We’re all crying along with you. Damn-this pulls my heart to shreds every single time.
This song in three movements is so emotional but the moment that makes me cry everytime is the "where do you go when i close my eyes" in the first song. Then Will Ramos scream is so intense and desesperate that i can really feel the pain. It is incredible. This song is a masterpiece.
I feel the same way. Everyone talks about the world without you part. But that where do you go when you close my eyes seemed so genuinely desperate in despair and longing for the answer he doesn't want to accept. The same as the breathe he takes in part 3 then let's out a painful scream when the lighter flicks is heart breaking
I'm beginning to think that Will's and Adam's respective talents as lyricist and composer might be even greater than their prowess on vocals and guitar.
I agree. Talent can only do so much but having the ability to convey emotion so well that people know exactly what you're feeling is rare. Words can feel empty if they aren't from somewhere you know well.
Would you have ever thought that someone could come up to you and tell you a death core trilogy will make you cry? That's just how good and powerful this is.

Yes ..... I am so glad you mentionted that comment by Ken at the end. THAT was the redeeming value to me personally from what I had just experienced with this trilogy. No matter the cinematogrophy or talent of the musicians and singers my takeaway was a call to non existence. Obviously that is not what fans think so that is why I was reading comments to try and get a glimpse of what i did not see. In the end. Ken. No matter what. The world is a better place with each of us in it. Reach out even if at the end of your rope. There are so many who would help to tie a not in the end of that rope to help you hang on. THAT is what made me cry.

In this masterpiece of modern art, Lorna Shore captures what it's like to feel grief in the most beautiful way possible. The first part features rain, symbolizing the torrential downpour of overwhelming emotions we experience as we watch a loved one's life fade away. This video, like life, ends abruptly and without warning. Part 2 features snow, symbolizing the cold numbness of the depression that loss brings. Part 3 features fire. This symbolizes the blazing fury at the unfairness of life and loss. This piece is perfect in every way from sound design and directing, to the acting, to the poetry of the lyrics, to musicianship, to the instrument-like quality of Will's vocal performance. There is an underlying melody that plays throughout each of the three parts and ties them all together. This is one of the most incredible pieces of music I have ever witnessed. Also, the guitar solos are particularly incredible because the guitarist, Adam, was the primary writer of this trilogy's lyrics and based much of it on personal experience. You can hear his own pain as he plays.
I swear that high scream towards the end of part 3 is what gets me. After all that loss, all that rage, there’s no other way to describe everything you want to let out but that scream
This had to be the most emotional reaction I’ve ever seen for this trilogy and how you’re describing everything so poetically truly adds to this powerful story. Thank you because it’s definitely helping me to get through because I myself suffered a number of losses and thought suicide would relieve all that pain. But in all honesty it would just cause more than we would ever know. So to hear those words “ the world is better with you in it “ really makes me feel better about myself in so many ways. Thank you… truthfully from the bottom of my heart thank you.
The best advice I got, when I was first getting into deathcore, was to read the lyrics before the first listen, and don't try to understand the words during the song, instead think of the voice of the vocalist as another instrument. The lyrics are important, but if you are focusing on trying to understand them during the song, or reading them while trying to listen, then you lose out on part of the full experience. Actually understanding them during the song, without needing to focus, comes with time, but until that point, just read them before listening. It was the piece of advice that actually got me truly enjoying deathcore(I'd given it a few tries before, and bounced off of the genre, but decided to give it another go after getting the advice).
As a huge Lorna Shore fan these songs have had a huge positive mental health impact for me, really made me appreciate that life is fragile and that loved ones would never wanna see us harm ourselves for them and we should be grateful for their lives. For those unaware, the video trilogy basically show the process of grieving. PR1 is the death itself, they were "dancing like flames" in bliss and happiness. PR2 is the thought that his wife meant everything and he feels meaningless without her so he feels like he'll "disappear". PR3 is the rock bottom stage, his grievance has basically overtaken his thought process and now wants to end it all in a "sea of fire" by burning the memories and himself
I am reading comments truely trying to understand what I have just seen. I appreciate your adding the aspect of the stages of grief. That I can see too... I understand the pain remains but is there no hope at all? That is just it? Sure not a message that would (or has now that I have listened to this) be a positive mental health message for me. Not arguing but looking for input to at least understand.
Also maybe on your own time or if you want to do a video yourself on it and curious what the inside of his throat looks like watch operation throat camera by charismatic voice lol
I must let it be known. It is your reaction to this one that made me start following you. Ken.. You just prove that you are man of music. It doesn’t matter what kind of music you react to.. You are able to find the beauty in it regardless. Me as a big fan of this band was really anxious to see what you would make of it. Turned out you reacted just the way I did. On for that you’ve made a new follower in me. Actually by watching several of your videos you have made me enjoy music I never thought I would ever even listen to. Thank you so much for the experience and for being openminded, honest and real.
Lorna Shore proves that ALL music is beautiful. These songs are their masterpiece but of the three, part one hits me differently. Hopefully these amazing songs will bring more people to this genre of music.😥🤘😥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’ve been hoping you would do a reaction to this trilogy.. it’s a masterpiece of music and cinematography. I have listened to all three songs about 30 times and every time it feels like a punch in the gut and I can’t help but well up with tears. It’s such raw and real emotions shown and expressed by Lorna Shore and I feel being in the deathcore style adds to the anguish and pain of the protagonist. Just a painfully beautiful trilogy of songs that I feel need to be heard.
The entire Pain Remains album flows together so well to lead up to this point but the trilogy flows so perfectly that if you listen to all 3 at once its more like one long song. This trilogy seriously gets me every time and is such a heart-wrenching story. There was an interview with Will Ramos (vocalist) where he said the pain remains trilogy was written by guitarist Adam De Micco during a really difficult, emotional time in his life.
Absolutely phenomenal reaction Ken. Thank you for watching these. It is worth knowing the full story from the album. According to Will it is the story of a man so dissuaded by the waking world that he decided to create an entire world within his dreams. That world within it included a person. As he lives out the dream it begins falling apart, and the trilogy is the dream crumbling around our protagonist. This is why the word "dream" is seen multiple times throughout the lyrics. In this song in particular "f*** this existence, bring me back to where it all began in the fall, wake me up before I lose it all" calling back to the first song on the album "welcome back o' sleeping dreamer" which if you read that song it is the protagonist essentially creating his dream world. This entire album is absolutely worth hearing particularly if you delve into the lyrics. Thanks again Ken for pushing through this set of videos. The trilogy really is the hardest part of the album to stomach, meanwhile the rest of the album really is truly just as phenomenal as the trilogy. My recommendation for your next song from Lorna Shore would have to be "Into the Earth"! Stay strong my man!
I never thought a deathcore song, or rather trilogy, would make me cry, despite all the shrieking and roaring, the lyrics are heartbreakingly beautiful
At the end of part 3, after that quiet part where he's on the couch. When the music makes the transition to the last part, you can read on her lips "I love you". This is so heartbreaking
My cousin took his life when he was 14, my father didn't even let me go to his funeral. The pain of having my only friend at the time just become a memory with no reason and no goodbye. Being 12 at the time it made one of the largest impacts I could ever imagine. And even though I did and still am going through this pain, what did he feel that was so dark, and cold that he just had to go? Thoughts like this and the guilt of what could I have done to prevent this just completely captivate my mind and keep me from sleeping most nights. Lorna Shore and various other bands capture the turmoil and anger so well that it gives me a place to put my anger so I can stop myself from lashing. I will forever be thankful to these bands for this, and thank you for the reaction to such a song. I hope things go your way.
I love this entire album and especially this song. This song broke me when the album came out. I had the chance to see them live shortly after the album came out, and it was an incredible experience to see them perform this song live. All mosh pits had stopped, it was nothing but people crying, cheering, and holding up lighters/flashlights. You can hear live especially the emotion coming from Will. After the final lyrics you could see Will a little misty eyed, as well as Adam. It was this weird dichotomy of everyone being both somber from hearing such an emotional song, and being so excited just to be there and see a great band perform
Insomnium - The Grooves of Death saved me. Pain Remains dug up some pain for sure, but everytime we break we can rebuild. The lyrics that changed me was "In these lowly halls No moon will beam, no sun will shine In these narrow rooms No tears are seen, no laughter heard" A reminder that there will be nothing, and you wont see the disasterous grief that you leave behind. The world is truely a better place with you in it.
Dear Ken, I'd been wanting to watch this trilogy for a while now, but I was afraid to watch it alone. Thank you for your company, and thank you for your words. Okay, I won't go. Pri.
No matter how many times I hear these songs, I still get chills. The greatest travesty I have with them, is that I cannot share their beauty with my friends since they don't listen to this style of music.
Thanks for the words it truly means a lot and this is like time 100 that I watch a reactor to this series of videos and it always breaks me, mom died first of cancer 6 years ago, dad died 2 years ago, my brother lives 10 hours away and I am here just wainting for my mom´s pension, because my father left me mentally broken to the point, that I have a paper by the goverment that says I am disabled. So now all I have left is that Pension and I am just holding on to that so I can finally start my life again, i am living in such a horrible situation, I have a castle but what worth has a castle when it falls apart and the structure is made of mud and lies, I have a last name but what is a last name of a King without the crown. I heard that parents are supposed to prepare you for life without them, mine did the opposite. So again thanks for the words, it truly means the world, mister Ken, a big hug from Argentina.
This trilogy hits much closer to home than I would've ever imagined when I first heard it. I lost my wife on the 13th of this month. It was a rather sudden departure as well so there was no planning or anything in place. I got home from work and she was just lying on the bed unresponsive, I called emergency services and she went to the hospital where she apparently was diagnosed with pneumonia, next day, massive stroke and cardiac arrest. I had to watch her life be snuffed out as I held her in her final moments. I'll never be the same after that . I would never wish that experience on my worst enemy. She died exactly 1 week before her birthday and a little over a month before our 15th wedding anniversary... I'm just lost now.
Time heals they say... I was 9 when my dad died for cardiac arrest. I'm 24, Pain Remains. Hope this songs helps you in the right way; It's a nice way to remember it and overtake it aswell. STAY STRONG man.
Great reaction. That part gets me every time. The abrupt ending to the first video you said it right: "wait, it's not supposed to end like that"... precisely, that's EXACTLY what that feels like
Few songs have ever made me cry. That end of part 1 still gets me. The other song that always gets me is white wine in the sun by Tim Minchin. Not even sure why.
Thank you for doing this Ken, I admire you for embracing music genres that may be foreign to you, yet are imbued with all the pathos and emotion of mainstream classical music. Emotion encased in an unfamiliar shroud. Thank you Ken, this is as emotional as any form of expression can be. 😊🤗❤
I respect this trilogy so much because it proves that metal is so much more than just screaming. It is pure emotion, frustration, mental illness, love and more. Linkin Park proved that point to me when I was young and it suck with me to this day, I learned so much about myself and grew emotionally because of the lyrics of rock and metal bands.
Parts 2&3 don’t gut me the way the first one does. The concept of my own death by my hand or anyone else’s doesn’t scare me, but the death of my wife or son is my worst fear. I don’t know how I’d carry on without them, but part of me thinks it might look something like this. This trilogy is world class.
I don't care what anyone says But the part with the phrase "A world without you is not a world that inst meant for me!!" always Makes me tier up every damn time. I Love this trilogy and its nothing short of fucking masterpiece and Lorna Shore is One of the 1st death core bands to Promote suicide Prevention and awareness and I Applaud them for it.
If you listen to the epic album from start to end, it tells an entire story. For those who have yet to listen to all 10 songs, i highly recommend it. The artistry that Will shows is absolutely captivating
I'm a hard core metal head, entreprenour and no bull shit mentality. But things like this make me emotional, tear up. It does what it's ment to, make you reflect on things you might have lost or don't want to lose.
They glide so well together while being very different. The first one ending on. " Am I just a ghost just like you, caught between the Seams of two intertwining melodies? " Leading into the second song, where hope is gone, and he might be alive, but living like a ghost, the second song is the time between melodies. So the ending of the first song leads to the expressions of the second. And then to the 3 where it about getting past the empty space between melodies. Where he is no longer a ghost just acting, but the emotions he is feeling is acting through him. Pain, anger, everything. The attempt in the second part was the uncontrolled action, the lack of everything. While the choice in the 3 was made with and understanding what he felt his life had become. Ending the trilogy with the words " Dancing like flames, after all that I've done I'll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire " Dancing like Flames being part 1 All that I've done being part 2 In a Sea of fire being part 3 And the 3 also bind the first part into it again, after the half part of the song, with the sort of breakdown, the melody and flow goes through some of the same waves we heard in the first song- ending with the bells and string actually playing through the same notes, but it start before that leading up to it. So both the story and the music is brought back together at the end. And even the music video that is telling the story plays into this, but with the band. They play in the same location. In the first one it rains, its a storm, the storm of loss, not knowing what to do or think, its all just chaos. Part 2 has snow. You are no longer in shock, the chaos have gone away. But all it has left is a cold feeling of emptiness, there is nothing. everything is frozen solid, like every thing ended in a second, time stand still. and life can not move on. Part 3, when there is flames, and its not for anger. its about ending. Fire burns away life, but it also leave something new to grow. He does not do what he does out of the blue, he have said his goodbye, and are ready for what comes next. And he burns away the rest of him in this life. Like he says in the first " A life without you is not meant for me " so with fire he erase himself, instead of spending a life frozen and stuck in time. Same way life starts and end the same place, in all forms. no matter the start or the end. You never know where you start. And when you are at the end, it does not really matter. It was the choices and feelings between the melodies you experiences along the way that guided you to what ever end you had. The two things in life that does not matter to you, is the start, and the ending. because you are not there to deal with them or experience them. Yet it is those two things that mean the most when all is said and done. Because what ever you did with your life, those you loved, and those you hurt is all because your life started. And your actions in between the melodies is what you will be remembered for.
Ive listened to these songs so many times, and the emotional aspect is still there. Lorna really went above and beyond with this album, a true work of art and a masterpiece.
"The world is better with you in it" Yes. The greatest tragedy is to see a young person ripped from this world, whether by their own hand or the hand of disease or some other factor. I am not religious (I'm an atheist), but I'm more than willing to pray for a day when the good do not die young. While that day is not here yet-- if you feel there is no path except death, please know there's someone out there willing to help you from the brink... There's 8 billion people on this planet... Even if only a fraction of 1% are willing to help, even if they're on the other side of the planet... They exist and will help
Thank you for this awesome, honest and heartfelt reaction. Many like me have watched this trilogy, and other reactions, and I pretty much cried every time. Sometimes art makes you think and react with emotions, and this is no exception. Metal can be beautiful, even when it hurts. Kudos to Will Ramos and his bandmates for creating such an artistic piece with a message, and using their platform to share.
Few genres really capture the rage and desperation and emotional storm of intense grief like this death metal can do. The way they have the ending of the first song trail off to just soft music and him whispering and then how it builds in intensity as she dies is really a unique way of having a song portray the emotions of a moment like that. It doesn't matter what mood I was in at the beginning of the song, when that part hits, I at minimum have a massive lump in my throat. Very moving song and video.
If we learn to appreciate what we have while we have it, health, relationships or whatever, it will be a little bit less painful to let go when the time comes. And the time to let go will always come. So make sure to tell your loved ones that you love them, forgive each other while you can, take the time to stop and smell the flowers and enjoy life. Because life is a long serie of goodbyes.
I am crying with you Ken, life is as raw as this, but that is he rawness of our existence. We are Human when we can shed tears in this manner. Kudos Ken, you are much loved. 😊🤗❤
Beautifully human reaction, Ken. This trilogy is a stunning work, I still get choked up listening to it. Will has said he likes writing sad songs, and boy, does he deliver. Very eloquent, and matched with the stellar music from the rest of the band, it's mindboggling impactful.
I'm late to the party, as always, but it bears saying for people who will find this later. The trilogy goes a little deeper than you think it might, even if you understand that it's deeply emotional (and I'll readily say that it makes me tear up.) The album Pain Remains is a semi-concept album about a lucid dreamer. The Pain Remains trilogy is about the Dreamer coming to the realization that his happy life that he's created is fake, all the joy and love he's ever known is false, and all the pain he's gone through has been self inflicted. At the end of the album, In A Sea of Fire, he just wants to wake up, but he doesn't know how, so he decides to burn the world he's created down in his rage at torturing himself so much. In dying, the Dreamer hopes to be reborn, awakened to the life he had before he fell asleep and started to dream. The chorus: "I'll salt the earth in a crimson blaze, the world will burn in my fall from grace. Witness the death of God, hear the devil's choir, as I leave the stage in a sea of fire," is saying, "To hell with all of this. To hell with everyone in this false reality. To hell with the memories and the pain and feelings and everything. To hell with me and everything I've done. Even as a god in my own dreams, I do nothing but suffer, so I'll burn it all down, because it's all my fault anyway. I'll disappear."
i've heard those 3 songs hundreds of times. but whenever i listen, the "a world without you isn't made for me" always gets me
Those lines completely gut me. The whole spoken part at the end of chapter 1 hits too hard.

I am not really sure where the snow comes in. I am bot saying you are wrong however for me it makes more sence if the particles falling in part II is ashes. Would have been really interesting to hear the band talk about it.
“It’s not supposed to end like that, is it?”
I think they nailed it
That’s the exact feeling the man was feeling in the video. “It can’t end like this” they absolutely nailed it for sure
A life cut short, just like the song. Brilliant.
Adam De Micco deserves the world for writing this trilogy since its near to his heart
You are never alone amogst brothers and sisters of metal.
Did you ever think that this genre of music would make you this emotional?
It's just so good and the emotions projected by the band is unbelievable.
Death core ballad. 👌🏻😭❤
I may have watched these videos - and people reacting to them - countless times, but that first part will get me sobbing every single time.
I am crying like a baby again.
It's perfectly fine to cry. We're human and have emotion at the end of the day. This is real. There's no other genre that can make you feel so alive.
You are sooooo right
Thanks for expressing that into words so well.
💯
Finally someone that thinks like me....🤟🏿🤟🏿🤟🏿
I agree. Usually we get to know the regret, the sorrow and the sadness however you never see the rage as you say.
THIS. The way the first song ended so abruptly and you had that moment of shock and went "...wait...It's not supposed to end like that..."
The abrupt ending was meant to mirror how our loved ones can just leave our lives so suddenly; and we just sit there stunned, saying "...wait...It's not supposed to end like that..."
Christ their story telling and decision making with this EP was phenomenal.
well sure but its only because all 3 songs are meant to be played back to back, they blend into eachother as one seemless story, the abrupt end is only in the music videos.
I feel like Lorna Shore is finally that bridge we needed for metal to be accepted on a much higher, and more emotionally-intricate level.
That silent "I love you" on pt3 always gets me.
every time
Every single time 😢
This trilogy is hands down one of the best musical arrangments I've ever heard.
Watch the video with lyrics, you will understand so much more. @@auntiethetical
Little pointer:
The very last lyrics of Part III are the titles of all three parts. For me, it encapsuled the entire trilogy perfectly, and holy moly, I tear up on all of this every single time.
Dancing like flames, I’ll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire. Best lyrics ever written.
its just so brilliant amazing unreal just love the ending
"If you're at the end of your rope, we'll help you tie a knot". Beautiful words.
The whole trilogy is a masterpiece
Ken, I have so much respect for you to have ventured into this trilogy that’s of a genre that’s very much not necessarily the sort of thing that you personally might choose to listen to on, say, a Sunday afternoon-and for you to have embraced this series with such open arms.
And just to add: We’re all crying along with you. Damn-this pulls my heart to shreds every single time.
HUGE props to the actors too! They portayed their role so perfectly, and brought the story even further than just the music already is.
Exactly! I was going to comment exactly what these two comments are saying! "Where do you go, when I close my eyes?" Immediately tear up.
I lost my father a few months ago. This trilogy of songs hits so different now, and makes me cry. My dad was my best friend. I miss him so much.
keep pushing mate, you will get there. It is hard, best thing you can do is give death the middle finger and live a life worth living.
Yes, wrong core.

The world is better with you in it....
Me for some reason starts crying my eyes out.

“Where do you go, when I close my eyes” breaks my heart
This band..phenomenal. I know this pain too well. Sat with my brother 9 months ago as he died in front of myself and my mother. Rewind to April 29th 1995 I found my father beaten to death and left in a wooded area,he was 52. Now in my 50s,these songs, these moments resignate with me deeply. I'm very glad you are experiencing this amazing band brother. Much respect and love from Ohio
You are strong as hell for having made it through all that.
@@DrakenSchwert appreciate that my friend, took me years to deal with fathers death it wasn't pretty. Been 28 years yesterday, brother was rough as it was sudden and also not pretty, appreciate the kind words friend
"Dancing like flames,
...and after all i´ve done,
i´ll salt the earth and disappear ...
in a sea of fire"
honk, when you read this lines on my trunk
This had to be the most emotional reaction I’ve ever seen for this trilogy and how you’re describing everything so poetically truly adds to this powerful story. Thank you because it’s definitely helping me to get through because I myself suffered a number of losses and thought suicide would relieve all that pain. But in all honesty it would just cause more than we would ever know. So to hear those words “ the world is better with you in it “ really makes me feel better about myself in so many ways. Thank you… truthfully from the bottom of my heart thank you.
You are still needed here.
"the world is better with you in it" is such a beautiful phrase. Thank you
The best advice I got, when I was first getting into deathcore, was to read the lyrics before the first listen, and don't try to understand the words during the song, instead think of the voice of the vocalist as another instrument.
In essence. This was more than music.
Hearing this live was so amazing 1000/10 recommend whenever you can ... cry with all of us in the pit lol
Also maybe on your own time or if you want to do a video yourself on it and curious what the inside of his throat looks like watch operation throat camera by charismatic voice lol
When the mosh pit becomes a mush pit 😭
I always thought they ended the first part so abruptly as a way to show all good things come to an end.
Also shows things can end at any time unexpectedly and so abrupt
I'm 52. Love my wife dearly. Listen to lots of extreme music. This song hits like no other. Literally battle back tears
I lost my cousin months after we saw Lorna Shore live. She loved them. The trilogy takes on new meaning and comfort
This trilogy can make a grown man cry
Not “can” but WILL
The entire Pain Remains album flows together so well to lead up to this point but the trilogy flows so perfectly that if you listen to all 3 at once its more like one long song. This trilogy seriously gets me every time and is such a heart-wrenching story. There was an interview with Will Ramos (vocalist) where he said the pain remains trilogy was written by guitarist Adam De Micco during a really difficult, emotional time in his life.
The other 7 songs is the build up for the trilogy
"It's not supposed to end like that is it...?"
...exactly...................
;
You are not the only grown men that cry in that song, we are men.
If you listen to all three songs back to back, they line up perfectly and seamlessly, that’s why the videos end like that
At the end of part 3, after that quiet part where he's on the couch.
"I'm broken" is what I told the friend who suggested Pain Remains. Just incredible.
The lyrics that changed me was
"In these lowly halls
No moon will beam, no sun will shine
In these narrow rooms
No tears are seen, no laughter heard"
A reminder that there will be nothing, and you wont see the disasterous grief that you leave behind. The world is truely a better place with you in it.
The world is better for having you in it as well Ken. Thanks again for the wonderful reaction!
"They did it again", yeah they seem to do it a lot, this band is incredible.
Dear Ken,
I'd been wanting to watch this trilogy for a while now, but I was afraid to watch it alone. Thank you for your company, and thank you for your words. Okay, I won't go.
Pri.
I am afraid that the day that I listen to this song and not start crying will be the day that I died inside...
No matter how many times I hear these songs, I still get chills. The greatest travesty I have with them, is that I cannot share their beauty with my friends since they don't listen to this style of music.
Share it anyways, My sister hates this genre, but I showed her this and now she’s a huge Lorna Shore fan.
I love you Ken! Happy 2024 from Stockholm, Sweden!
I'm just lost now.
shit man, so sorry for your loss
My condolences on your loss.
Take my hug internet stranger.
Time heals they say... I was 9 when my dad died for cardiac arrest. I'm 24, Pain Remains. Hope this songs helps you in the right way; It's a nice way to remember it and overtake it aswell. STAY STRONG man.
Great reaction. That part gets me every time.
The abrupt ending to the first video you said it right: "wait, it's not supposed to end like that"... precisely, that's EXACTLY what that feels like
A fucking masterpiece! Lorna shore is incredible.
Finally, a REAL "reaction" video!
Thank you!
The "dont disappear" line because the last chorus in part 2 gets me so much its almost like he is shouting to the guy don't go youve got this
Pain remains is a masterpiece 🥲🤘🖤
Remember to check on your friends from time to time, an ear can go a long way.
And that's what screams can do. Transport sooo much emotion 😭
This is a masterpiece and makes me cry everytime.
Ken, you're one of the classiest reaction people on the internet. Coming from a deranged evil metal head since 2000. Nice videos, sir! Well done.
Cringe
If you listen to the epic album from start to end, it tells an entire story. For those who have yet to listen to all 10 songs, i highly recommend it. The artistry that Will shows is absolutely captivating
Im very glad people are making art like this. Clearly this set of lyrics, music, video, and performance transcends being 'just music'.
This is the best love story ever written in music. AND IT CAME FROM EXTREME DEATH CORE!!!!
I'm a hard core metal head, entreprenour and no bull shit mentality. But things like this make me emotional, tear up. It does what it's ment to, make you reflect on things you might have lost or don't want to lose.
They glide so well together while being very different.
The first one ending on. " Am I just a ghost just like you, caught between the
Seams of two intertwining melodies? "
Leading into the second song, where hope is gone, and he might be alive, but living like a ghost, the second song is the time between melodies.
Ending the trilogy with the words " Dancing like flames, after all that I've done
I'll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire "
Dancing like Flames being part 1
All that I've done being part 2
In a Sea of fire being part 3
And the 3 also bind the first part into it again, after the half part of the song, with the sort of breakdown, the melody and flow goes through some of the same waves we heard in the first song- ending with the bells and string actually playing through the same notes, but it start before that leading up to it.
But all it has left is a cold feeling of emptiness, there is nothing. everything is frozen solid, like every thing
ended in a second, time stand still. and life can not move on.
Let's not forget the drummer, he's amazing 🙏 But what the actual fuck, this is beyond a masterpiece omg 😭
Ive listened to these songs so many times, and the emotional aspect is still there. Lorna really went above and beyond with this album, a true work of art and a masterpiece.
I've watched these videos many times now and it never gets any easier. They make me cry every time without fail.
"The world is better with you in it"
Yes.
I cried soo beyond hard while watching the 3rd music video in this trinity of songs when I first watched them.
Suicide survivor here. I was in tears as much with your plea as the lyrics and imagery of this trilogy
Thank you
I am crying with you Ken, life is as raw as this, but that is he rawness of our existence.
The trilogy goes a little deeper than you think it might, even if you understand that it's deeply emotional (and I'll readily say that it makes me tear up.)
The album Pain Remains is a semi-concept album about a lucid dreamer.
