I’ve heard this song probably over a hundred times and that line still crushes me every time. It’s actually as soon as the guitar solo kicks in I’m like ahh fuck here we go I’m about to tear up again
I'm a huge Lorna Shore fan, so yes, I can understand the majority of the lyrics; Will is very good at enunciating in his vocals. (Just to clarify, Will is the lyricist, he writes the poetry. Adam, the guitarist, writes the music.) It's interesting to me that you hear noise and chaos. For me, this music is beautifully blended with blast beats, gorgeous sweeping melodies and intense emotional lyrics with Will's unique vocal style. Deathcore may be an acquired taste for some, but for me it was love at first and every listen. And this ballad is evidence that even us metal heads have deep emotions - we just express them differently.
Another reactor, The Charismatic Voice, she is a vocal coach. She did a cool video with Will Ramos, the lead signer. They had a throat cam on Will while performing. It long and but a interesting watch to understand how he is able to scream like he does.
Might be a bit obvious to point out, but I like how the trilogy ends with the titles of the three songs (almost). For reference: Part 1: Dancing like flames Part 2: After all I've done, I'll disappear Part 3: In a sea of fire
Interesting that you mentioned the part with the dying god. There is another whole meta-interpretation for this part: If you take a closer look to all the lyrics from the whole Pain Remains Album (not only this trilogy) it tells an overarching story about some kind of “being” that wakes up in the first song “Welcome Back, O' Sleeping…” and reaches a god-like state in the song: “Sun//Eater” and gets mad at everything but after a while it gets bored and numb for everything , because being omnipotent might sound fun at first but can drive you mad I guess. After some time it creates this world that you see in the trilogy Pain Remains and takes place within it (in the form from the man you see in the pain remains video) just to feel something again. But losing it's wife in it's self-self-made story drives it over the edge and it can’t take it anymore and decides not only to end himself but also the world it created: F*** this existence Bring me back to where it all began in the fall Wake me up before I lose it all Witness the death of God, hear the Devil′s choir As I leave the stage in a sea of fire I'll salt the earth in the crimson blaze The world will burn in my fall from grace So the death of God mentioned in the last song is actually him-self. The complete album is a nice well-thought written story which happens to have excellent music and vocals too. Man, you don’t get quality stuff like this often. Its truly a gem.
The character is coming grips on the album that the infinite world created by the character is actually finite and crumbling and the desire to cleans the memory of that world by total destruction. It's definitely a heavy album on all fronts 👌🏻🤘🏻
it's because the main character creates this world in his dreams. In your dreams you are God, but at the same time not everything in your dreams can translate to reality. He has to wake up and go back to reality eventually, killing the God in his dreams.
Watched my parents go through this exact scenario in highschool. Mom disintegrated from cancer, dad was gone and suicidal during and afterwards. I'm a grown ass man, metalhead since I was a kid and this still makes me cry every time. These songs are an incredible step for metal 🤘
The story of the album is about the narrator choosing to exist in a dream world of his own making. The Pain Remains trilogy ends the album, and when he talks about the "death of god" he's talking about himself, choosing to end the dream because it isn't any better than the reality he escaped.
What I love about the pain remains trilogy and really all music, is that it can be interpreted to mean different things with different people. For example, Will stated what you just said about the meaning of these songs (actually the whole album if I'm not mistaken) whereas i Interpreted the trilogy to be about loss, sadness and grief and the range of emotions associated with losing someone you love.
Hi, metalhead here (started in the late 90's). Ya boy is right, it does become like a dialect almost. As with most things, you gotta learn it. I didn't understand most of the stuff I listened to back in the day, but you get an ear for it depending on how passionate you are about it. I listen to it nearly every day, especially anytime im at work, and I still don't understand everything. Being a metalhead comes with the knowledge that you will forever look up at least some lyrics. There are PLENTY of bands that pronounce words in such guttural, distorted ways that they literally aren't saying "words", so you'll never be able to discern those specific lyrics without the actual words in front of you, but you get to a point where you get most of it. It also depends on how well a singer can enunciate their words while screaming. Deathcore, for all it's demonic cacophony, is really at the forefront of enunciating words in extreme metal atm imo. I've often said that extreme metal is sometimes more an experience rather than just listening to a song. With most music, the lyrics are really important in selling the song to you. However, with metal, it can just be about strapping in and riding the wall of chaos being thrown at you. Like, the people in the pit couldn't give two fucks what the lyrics are.
This trilogy was what got me into deathcore… balled my eyes out when I first watched it. It released right after I lost one of my best friends. Still tear up every time I listen to it
This brings up a good point that not a lot of people talk about with death metal. Some people use the harshness of the sound as an outlet for their pent up emotions as they relate to the lyrics. Its therapeutic in a way. Also Sorry for your loss, really sucks to lose someone you are close to.
Its wild that a song can simultaneous make me want to headbang and go nuts, and curl up and cry. I feel like this trilogy is a better representation of grief than most sad songs because of the anger and bitterness mixed in to the sadness that can come with loss. I also dont often hear the emotion from alot of guitarists but you can definitely feel the pain and anguish from the solos.
Understanding the lyrics of metal screaming is kinda like catching bars in a rap song. You get better and better at it the more you listen to the genre.
As someone who almost lost my wife while she was giving birth to our daughter, that hopelessness that you feel, all that pain, it hits all at once. When the doctors told me I can't be in there, that they needed to make sure they could save her, I was flashed back to that scene in part 1 where he's sitting in the room after they wheeled her out. This was almost 7 years ago now and when this trilogy of songs came out they hit me on such a deep level. I was transported back to that moment, and it really does feel like a wrinkle in time, that it can't be possible and you just want to wake up. For those that have experienced something similar, I would never wish it upon anyone. And for those that haven't, I pray it doesn't come for you. If anyone is feeling like the end of part 3 and ready for the end, please reach out. You're never alone because we're all in this together. Even though we can tell this isn't your thing (deathcore) I for one appreciate you at least taking the time to see what we love about it, and even if you did have to read the lyrics you can see what this new era of music is taking us to.
I feel your pain brother, and you have my thoughts. I lost my world going on 4 years ago now. It's a maddening pain and far too easy to come through the other end with an empty rage for everything. Blessing to you and your kin friend
I lost my wife suddenly in April after having heard these songs. I still reach for her hoping she'll grab my hand but she never does. It's indescribable the loss and pain I feel since losing her. Never take for granted those you love because they are gone before you know it.
I can’t help to cry every time I listen to the trilogy. I have attached it to the memory of losing my fiancé and how I felt through it. It’s a pain that truly stays. Doesn’t fade. All you can do is to cope with it. And these songs made me feel less alone. That someone understood my pain. They’re beautiful.
so glad you listed to the version with subtitles. Lorna shore has a high barrier for entry. its not easy listening but they layers of complexity in the instrumentation, vocals , lyrics and visuals are astounding. i get chills hearing the pain , rage , sorrow and depth of human emotion that they managed to capture. its not for everyone but watching your take was fantastic!!!! cheers!
Putting the whole video together was one heck of a labor of love. Once I watched/listened to all three parts, they struck a deep chord in me due to how relatable they were. So I figured that everyone should be able to experience this trilogy, no matter their background. Putting the lyrics in there means it would be approachable for everyone since it is definitely a bit difficult to understand what Will is saying unless you listen to this kind of stuff all the time. And it means a lot when people are saying how the trilogy made them feel. Music can be a powerful thing and I'm happy that you enjoyed the video!
I have listened quite a lot to extreme metal, but I'm not a native English speaker, but I cannot make out a single word of the lyrics without reading them. Something else that happens from listening more to this kind of music, though, is that this chaotic sonic attack becomes normal and doesn't feel chaotic and stressful anymore, but rather feels... Almost soothing?
You're comment at 9:44 is exactly what I love about metal and especially bands like Lorna Shore and many others. They bring to the table, almost a Ying and Yang. The words being said are deep and captivating, yet the production from the band, is just so heavy, and dark. And I honestly, I can say, that I appreciate you stepping into the world of metal.
9:45 The point is it's supposed to sound like chaos. Losing the love of your life and the slow inner self immolation until you eventually snap and leave this world because you don't want to be in one without them is horrific. That's why it's so heavy and fitting.
whenever i need to remind myself that i have emotions, i go back to watching this trilogy. literally can't look at *that* scene from part one without crying in five seconds.
I’ve listened to metal for 20 years, I have favourite bands where I have no idea what they are saying after 15 years, it’s about the music for me. I can always pick stuff out, but it hit me the other day that I listen with out any idea what the content is
Thank you for sharing such personal parts of you with us and having a great discussion about all three songs. One thing I cant help but appreciate is what another reactions channel " a windmill full ov corpses" had said was the tragic ending to this story most likely happened because this man had been seemingly left alone and to his own battles , other than the small gathering of people and the crazy priest looking guy yelling all fervently and whatnot , had someone insisted to be a companion in such a time of sadness for this man and his obvious love of his life gone, things may have never gotten to that point. It's a great discussion point and perspective . Love you two so much Andy and bp❤ oh and if wanna be fancy about lorna shore's genre some even call them "blackened death metal "so you can keep that to impress others with lol
Man I love Lorna Shore and as someone who lost both my parents to cancer 9 months apart while I was still fairly young and had a younger sister still in HS. I felt i could relate to so many things you brought up and discussed on this video. I'm so happy I stumbled on this video and your channel definitely will be subbing and following. Much love everyone ✌🧡
Oh man, that was interesting seeing an innocent young man and a man a few long human years older experiencing different emotions while watching this trilogy. A boy digging the arts, and a man who's seen some shit.
This is the reason why I love deathcore, death-metal so much. I can resonate a lot. And the missconception about this genre is that people who don't usually listen to this music think it's just screaming. All the bands I listen to. Sing about deep subjects, hard conversations. About war, about hard feelings, depression, loss, pain... I think that's one of the reasons the metal community is so close and amazing to be in it. When you hear the trilogy live. Man I cried the whole time. I totally get lost in the music. And Live... Lorna Shore does look up to the expectations.
and sometimes that screaming is precisely the best way to convey those feelings and emotions. nothing is more raw and innate of an expression than a visceral primal scream.
Its beautiful sad lyricism meets anger. And we, as metal listeners, respond more (in my opinion) to the loud chaos and emotion brought out in distorted guitars, fast beats, and painful screams that just make you want to be angry. Yet its a huge emotional release. Its that outlet that allows you to be a decent human being outside in the real world. Death metal and any metal really is such a relatable experience to so many people.
I was raised in a super Christian home as well. My dad is literally a pastor. I wasn't allowed non-Christian music at all and I was home schooled in a military community overseas so I was super sheltered. I'm also a huge Lorna Shore fan. So are multiple members of my family. Not my parents, of course, but I've always felt I've been a bit more drawn to extreme music because of the fact I lived such a sheltered life growing up.
Fun fact, Will said in an interview that the whole album is about an individual that crafted a dream world to escape reality. This trilogy is that author realizing his time in this world is over and is now waking up. From this, this is his rage at the world he has to leave behind and cannot return to.
when you listen to such music for a long time you get used to it, it stops giving you such a kick as at the beginning, but you start to appreciate the beauty and mastery of people who play it.
The way I interpret “Dancing Like Flames” is like Wills vocals portraying the anger and sadness over the situation that makes you relate to the song, the guitars and the drums bring in the chaos or overwhelmingness of like what am i going to do now? Along with your experiences and memories with that person all racing through your head and that guitar solo really hits me with like dark and sad and hectic almost like you’re sad, you know you’re sad but at the same time it’s like you can’t comprehend what just happened and you’re trying to wrap your head around it.
saw these guys in belfast last week, they were incredible wills voice live is so impressive. Most people cant understand a lot of the lyrics but metalheads love repeating tracks so by the 20th listen ill know most of the lyrics. When youre just vibing high af you let the vocals melt into the mix and headbang
It is crazy to me that I've honestly seen this trilogy at the very least 30 times and I think I'm being very modest about that, it's probably closer to 50, either way I've cried every single time! To me that just shows you what an incredible group Lorna is, I mean Death Core making you cry, come on now!! Anyway, great reaction video 👍
I love the fact that all these reactions channels (especially ones ran by primarily rap focused artists like you and Knox Hill) have been checking out metal and such lately, and even seeing the beauty in it, rather than just going "I can't understand it, it's garbage".
What I loved is that the melody/riff you hear in the final moment of pain remains 3 is actually present in the other two songs as well. It's all connected.
My fav band of all time is The black dahlia murder, been rocking them since 2003. Know the words to every song and it helped me Understand death metal and all the other types of metal way easier lol Trevor was a beast on the vocals with the highs and lows, RIP tho. Such a great guy and great vocalist.
@@FlynnMcTaggart o7 trevor. and same here, miasma through deflorate but especially nocturnal for me, have them digitally, cd and vinyl, and just very key metal albums for me for sure. They just, to me, had a very interesting blackened death metal blend - somehow managed to stay as true to classic black metal as much as they could while also bringing that more modern or whatever punch of death metal, deathcore, or whatever. And the lineup on Nocturnal with especially Trevor's vocals but also the guitarist and the production/mixing were just something else. Perfect marriage of elements.
11:12 yes I can understand and it is learned after listening to this music and learning how they sing consonants vowels. Some words and songs are harder to understand so I still read most songs to make sure I’m hearing them right.
I appreciate how open minded you are listening to them. I agree with your buddy Andy. I feel like deathcore, and screaming vocal bands should use subtitles in their videos. Some vocalist you can understand. The ones that are hard to make out I view the screaming as it’s own instrument. So you might not know what they’re saying but the sound of the scream is like the sound of the guitar. It doesn’t stink because you can miss out on some beautiful lyrics. Screaming music isn’t for everyone. I just hate when people say the screaming part doesn’t take talent. Screaming has many of the same techniques as singing. Anyone can scream, but being able to musically scream takes practice. I love how each vocalist has their own styles in the genres. Anyways thanks for sharing.
Amazing reaction, I'm quickly becoming a massive fan of your channel. As a Marine who has lost my share of friends, and also someone who lost a sister to cancer, I feel this trilogy really does a fantastic job summarizing that pain, anger, and sometimes defeat that is felt with extreme loss. Respect to you for sharing about losing your mother. May the gods bring you peace, and I hope yalls week is absolutely terrific. -a relatively new fan from Texas
Wow I love seeing someone being so OPEN to a very different type of music. You really tried to listen and pay attention and give it a chance. I struggle to understand and enjoy deathcore as well (some other metal I like though), but I would like to try to learn to appreciate more metal genres and more harsher vocals. (Up until recently I thought I hated rap, but Ren has been a gateway into discovering more genres and I'm loving it.) I feel like I'm on the same journey into this with you and andiroo together. Keep it up!
Some folk will think I'm a bit weird (tbf, many do - and they're probably right), but Lorna Shore chill me out. The mix of the orchestration, the chaos, the destinctive guitar sound and of course Will's voice - just Wow.
In my opinion this music is all about the emotion, the feelings are too big to be conveyed in normal speech and song the pain and loss hit you like this in life and it imitates the experience that they are feeling that chaos and uncertainty the uncomfortable feeling you get in my opinion is intentional until you settle into the music and it becomes comfortable in a way that can't really be explained
This trilogy always felt like such a cathartic release for me. It's like you can live the life of the protagonist while also realizing that what he's doing is too far, and it allows you to just revel in this massive weight it takes off your chest being able to still almost experience it yourself in an odd way. Experiencing this trilogy just makes you feel like you can scream away all your frustrations and leave it with the same feeling you get after a much needed cry. Just overwhelming catharsis and an odd sense of comfort.
Never forget the first time I heard this. Saw the first part and it brought me to tears towards the end. "A world without you isn't meant for me." You can feel the anguish and the sheer emotion and hurt in his voice
Thanks for the reaction. I'm from Russia, but emotions are perfectly read. With this trilogy, I discovered Lorna Shore and Will Ramos as a vocalist who has great and clean vocals, but that's not about it now. The very moment when you go through all the stages: from denial, self-destruction to complete apathy. Will's voice perfectly illustrates and presents what you should feel. When he sings in a low growl, in the first part, it personifies a person who denies what is happening, but with the transition to fry and other high-pitched splits, this is an inner emotion when you scream, but no one hears you. You're trapped in this box. In the second part, the situation worsens, you are still screaming inside, but there is still no answer, but in public you are a person accepting the hardships that have fallen on you. This is also reflected in the vocals. In the third part, self-destruction enters the terminal stage, when help can no longer help and there is still no one around. The whole Scream here embodies the incineration of a person from the inside, which he does in reality. With words and visuals, all these emotions reach a new level. In general, this is a song about "love to the grave" and when you are, for someone, the whole world. Behind the facade of heavy music, a lyrical work with an emotional message similar to the work "The Sufferings of Young Werther" by Goethe.
Ok... the entire album is a story, the trilogy is just the end. It's a story about falling asleep and beginning to dream. Then that dream becomes lucid and you can dictate how the dream progresses. Once you can control the dream you begin to live out your fantasy in that world. Eventually though the dream world takes back over and becomes nightmarish. The trilogy takes place at this point and the protagonist offing himself at the end is how he escapes the nightmare and reawakens. The protagonist is the God of his dreamscape so when will says witness the death of God its the guy talking about himself.
Lorna Shore have become the GOATs of Deathcore just because the album alone, but that trilogy is a game changer. The trilogy reminds me of 2020, not because of COVID, but because of my divorce and how I literally felt like my life was at its end because of it. I lost my entire world and my faith was tested thereafter, but it all came back and I’ve never been better. And Lorna’s music has definitely been a huge help because the chaos is so therapeutic when you’re in the state of mind. Good work, dudes! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
I'm a big Lorna Shore fan and I didn't think you where disrespectful this music is hard to digest for a lot of people especially on you're first time hearing it. Also if you want to hear more approachable deathcore try Whitechapel-A blood-soaked symphony. Another emotional album about Phil Bozeman the vocalist losing his parents.
i love seeing people open up and come to an appreciation for this type of music. metal has helped me through so many things in life. Kudos to you my friend.
I love this. Thank you for opening your mind and getting past the initial layer that most people cant get past, and seeing the art for what it truly is
So lorna shote is my fav band of all time and im so grateful for this video because you guys are so smart and respectful yet with different point of view! This is great! What a greta time to be into screamo 🔥🤘🏽
Ive lost mom too to cancer and I feel the pain of watching a father go through it, I still remember I was in my room and the way my house is setup, all the bedrooms go to a hallway andd then that hallway connects to the living room and kitchen, and my old room was in the back so I had to go through my fathers bedroom door always, when Mom passed away and we got the call, I left my room and started walking down the hallway to the living room to exit my house to go to the hospital and I have the phrase "My love is gone" imprinted in my mind, that scream still haunts me. Now I lost dad too and he wasnt the best dad but without him I wouldnt be here without him and mom, they were Ying and Yang, she was the caring, loving, serious when needed mother and he was the tough guy, tough love, screaming and more, but they were in love and I am happy I am the son of this family. May they rest in peace, I thought of joining them many times, but I failed 3 times already, the world doesnt want me to leave so I guess I will sit here and wait to see what the world brings.
i genuinely listen to metal because of 10:20 (ish) it’s pure chaos, but it’s controlled- organized into a music score. the Pain Remains Trilogy is beautifully controlled chaos.
Thank you BP! For giving this a chance and taking it in. And opening up about ur own experiences with death and pain.. This trilogy hits so hard. 😢.. If your looking for something a little easier on the ears. Maybe try some progressive melodic metal such as sleep token. 🤟
It's so true that this kid says you get used to the dialect after a while, same thing happened to me with "To The Hell fire" I had to look up the lyrics having only truly being able to make out "pin & needles & ""nothing confessed, put me to rest" LoL I even commented on their video that they should add lyrics for us newbies (especially us old one's) to be able fully appreciate the songs, but after looking up the lyrics & listening to more of their music (a year or however long it's been later) now I can't believe I ever DIDN'T understand what he was saying! Now it's more like he's just clearly talking. Kinda like one of those optical illusions that you have to stare at to see, once you see the intended image... you can't ever unsee it again! LoL The greatest thing about LS tho (IMO) is that the music alone grabs you & makes u feel b4 you ever understand the lyrics anyways. To The Hell Fire grabbed AND throttled me hard from the start enough to want, NEED to know what he was saying. As a matter of fact I'll never forget the sheer EXCITEMENT I felt listening for the 1st time. As long as the song is... I remember being utterly disappointed when it ended. I'm pretty sure I alone am responsible for their viewership being in the 10's of millions of views!😜 & I shared it w everyone I know & even ppl I didn't know! LoL They truly deserve all the great things they've worked for over all the years! Will is a VERY impressive talented vocalist, but the whole band is ridiculously talented & it's ALL of them that make this recipe what it is!
It’s Sullivan King’s “Thrones of Blood” crewneck 🔥💪🏼 he combines deathcore and dubstep, it’s SO heavy and sounds so sick!! Def check him out if you’re a metalhead wanting a new experience 👀🤘🏼🤘🏼
When you’re so engrossed in the screams of metal, it makes you stronger. I’ve been listening to metal for long time. Without subtitles, there are few instances where Will speak sings.
I can relate more than most could possibly imagine. Hits home hard everytime. Loss, grief and overcoming so much pain over n over again. It's doable.. I still feel it. But I'm strong. You gotta just keep moving forward Having only Good thoughts of the past!
Since you mentioned the interview with Ren you've got to do an interview with Will. You think the vocals don't match the lyrics? Wait till you meet Will. Dude is like a puppy; just the nicest, happiest, ball of positivity. You'd never think he possessed such lyrical depth or be able to make such terrifying sounds.😅
Lorna is so good man. I wasn't a fan of this trilogy when it first released but the more I listened to it I was blown away. It's raw in a way that metal normally isn't. This trilogy is certainly up there for me in terms of cohesive lyrical content across multiple songs. Along with "A Tear in the Fabric of Life" by Knocked Loose, which is about losing a loved one in a car wreck and the guilt he feels afterwards. Musically too, this trilogy brings back parts from previous songs like the first melody becoming the end to the third song... just so good 10/10
Me and my wife also had a stillborn!! A little girl at 9 months, we went into the hospital the day before her due date and they couldn’t find her heartbeat! Holding her and knowing I couldn’t take her home was the hardest thing I have ever had to endure! I wanted to burn the world to the ground! I can relate to the lyrics in these songs, I’m sorry about your losses!!
Hey guys! New to your channel! I love seeing people react to this genre of music and slowly starting to kind of get where we are coming from with it. I’ve been in this scene my whole life. Its my everything. And the dude is right. It’s beautiful in a sense of chaos. It’s raw emotion. It’s the voice screaming in your head when you’re just absolutely crushed. When it just hurts so bad you want to just wreck everything. It’s not just about anger. It’s also about the hurt. The pain.
"a world without you isn't meant for me" gets me every time
Without fail!
I’ve heard this song probably over a hundred times and that line still crushes me every time. It’s actually as soon as the guitar solo kicks in I’m like ahh fuck here we go I’m about to tear up again
It's the solo that gets me every time. It's just way too good.
I'm so sure that was the plan
Where do you go when I close my eyes
He's not into deathcore. Some people cannot so I cannot blame him. I don't get to rap either 😂
respect
It's interesting how calculated and precise everything is in order for the song to sound like right level and type of chaos
100% Agree with you, Will is so good at expressing the music, ever since Will joined Lorna, ive been a massive fan
Metal is really good to express anger and sadness
Another reactor, The Charismatic Voice, she is a vocal coach. She did a cool video with Will Ramos, the lead signer. They had a throat cam on Will while performing. It long and but a interesting watch to understand how he is able to scream like he does.
"dancing like flames,
After all i've done,
I'll Salt the earth and disappear,
In a sea of fire"
Such amazing ending
Might be a bit obvious to point out, but I like how the trilogy ends with the titles of the three songs (almost). For reference:
Part 1: Dancing like flames
Part 2: After all I've done, I'll disappear
Part 3: In a sea of fire
That’s the line that broke me.
Loved how they tied them all together
Interesting that you mentioned the part with the dying god. There is another whole meta-interpretation for this part:
If you take a closer look to all the lyrics from the whole Pain Remains Album (not only this trilogy) it tells an overarching story about some kind of “being” that wakes up in the first song “Welcome Back, O' Sleeping…” and reaches a god-like state in the song: “Sun//Eater” and gets mad at everything but after a while it gets bored and numb for everything , because being omnipotent might sound fun at first but can drive you mad I guess.
After some time it creates this world that you see in the trilogy Pain Remains and takes place within it (in the form from the man you see in the pain remains video) just to feel something again. But losing it's wife in it's self-self-made story drives it over the edge and it can’t take it anymore and decides not only to end himself but also the world it created:
F*** this existence
Bring me back to where it all began in the fall
Wake me up before I lose it all
Witness the death of God, hear the Devil′s choir
As I leave the stage in a sea of fire
I'll salt the earth in the crimson blaze
The world will burn in my fall from grace
So the death of God mentioned in the last song is actually him-self.
It's definitely a heavy album on all fronts 👌🏻🤘🏻
the "o' sleeping" reminds me of sleep tokens "sleep" diety which would be cool considering how much will ramos loves sleep token :D
At the end of the first part of the trilogy he says "In the world I made to be infinite" this explanation brings so much more meaning back to it.
it's because the main character creates this world in his dreams. In your dreams you are God, but at the same time not everything in your dreams can translate to reality. He has to wake up and go back to reality eventually, killing the God in his dreams.
This is actually super fascinating 😳
Oh shit I didn't expect all 3 at once! Hell yeah! So much emotion in these songs it's incredible. Never thought I'd cry to a blackened deathcore song.
This song goes so hard that I literally only listen to it in one go, and only once every few weeks. I don't want it to lose its magic.
100%
I cry to this trilogy every time. Seen them play this live twice now and not a dry eye in a room full of mostly men who have experienced loss
❤
❤❤
😢 so sorry for your loss
🫶🏾🖤🖤🖤 my heart breaks for you
❤
I can’t help to cry every time I listen to the trilogy. I have attached it to the memory of losing my fiancé and how I felt through it. It’s a pain that truly stays. Doesn’t fade. All you can do is to cope with it. And these songs made me feel less alone. That someone understood my pain. They’re beautiful.
I lost my dad to ALS, and 7 months later lost my mom to cancer. That is something you never truly come back from
Same here 😢
I love the mix of melody and pure, crushingly raw emotion. It speaks to my heart
"Certain words must be screamed, rather than sung or spoken" ~ Shai Hulud - This Song: For the True and Passionate Lovers of Music
MORE LORNA SHORE let's gooooo!!!! Lyrics for new listeners are a must have
Andy thanks for showing Lorna Shore last time you were on. I’ve been absolutely hooked ever since. Will Ramos is otherworldly vocalist.👍🏻
so glad you listed to the version with subtitles.
That's the sign that you've become a metal head. Congrats🤘
@@deed5811 Have been for decades but thanks :-) Just wanted to try and express what it's like....
These 3 songs together is an absolute masterpiece.
Thank you for doing this one! I love it when you step out of your comfort zone.
I’ve listened to metal for 20 years,
I have favourite bands where I have no idea what they are saying after 15 years, it’s about the music for me.
Yes! All 3 at once!
Such an amazing work of art.
THE masterpiece of 2022!
@@dead-claudia I totally agree 💯 %
Its beautiful sad lyricism meets anger. And we, as metal listeners, respond more (in my opinion) to the loud chaos and emotion brought out in distorted guitars, fast beats, and painful screams that just make you want to be angry. Yet its a huge emotional release. Its that outlet that allows you to be a decent human being outside in the real world. Death metal and any metal really is such a relatable experience to so many people.
Y'alls breakdowns on this was amazing especially with dealing with death. I loved it. Ima subscribe
And I'm just sitting here bawling my eyes out.
My favorite deathcore band for the past 3 years❤
I was raised in a super Christian home as well.
Fun fact,
Will said in an interview that the whole album is about an individual that crafted a dream world to escape reality.
When youre just vibing high af you let the vocals melt into the mix and headbang
this was one of the best reactions to pain remains
yes the longer you listen to it your brain will start making connections from the sounds to the actual words
Metal is an emotional outlet of the highest form...when it hits it hits
Had to come back and see this. Love Lorna Shore. Will Ramos is amazing. I hope you get to have him on the channel!!!
RIP Trevor
Some words and songs are harder to understand so I still read most songs to make sure I’m hearing them right.
the music represents PAIN!!! Yes we can understand lyrics.
There is no piece of music that makes me cry every time like this one does. So beautifully done.
I truly appreciate your honesty and sharing stories of your losses in this video man. Great reaction to a stunning trilogy.
I've listened this kind of music almost my full life and can listen and understand 90% of what they sing
(Up until recently I thought I hated rap, but Ren has been a gateway into discovering more genres and I'm loving it.)
I feel like I'm on the same journey into this with you and andiroo together.
REALLY appreciated your discussion and analysis on this great song... I dare to say a masterpiece... GREAT video guys!
The first time I heard this song, I cried my eyes out. This song's so hard bro.... You almost brought me to tears again.
Every time I watch the trilogy I always cry. Will Ramos really captures the emotion perfectly!!!
I understand every single word that Lorna Shore sings and I’m 45 years old.
It is true art.
i love seeing people open up and come to an appreciation for this type of music. metal has helped me through so many things in life. Kudos to you my friend.
One of the most true reactions I’ve seen
Through the lens of such personal experience
Thank you very much
You made me love this trilogy even more
I love this.
These songs and really the whole album touches something deep in my soul
It's official, us core kids are Klingons lol
Very real reaction! thank you for this.
LoL
The greatest thing about LS tho (IMO) is that the music alone grabs you & makes u feel b4 you ever understand the lyrics anyways. I'm pretty sure I alone am responsible for their viewership being in the 10's of millions of views!😜
& I shared it w everyone I know & even ppl I didn't know! LoL
They truly deserve all the great things they've worked for over all the years! Will is a VERY impressive talented vocalist, but the whole band is ridiculously talented & it's ALL of them that make this recipe what it is!
Yet another reason why I love Andy on the pod! Excellent taste
I really enjoyed you guys reaction, and Pegasus i'm glad you discovered this world, the Heavy Metal World!
Much respect on this reaction. I know I'm late. Deep topics are handled differently and this trilogy spoke to me... Illustration of feeling.
Always happy to see your openness
I want Andy’s hoodie.
I am an old as metal head but I never saw that hoodie.
I WANT IT!!
It’s Sullivan King’s “Thrones of Blood” crewneck 🔥💪🏼 he combines deathcore and dubstep, it’s SO heavy and sounds so sick!! Def check him out if you’re a metalhead wanting a new experience 👀🤘🏼🤘🏼
Metal is an amazing way to express the reality of emotion. Not everything is beautiful. There can be beauty, but there hasen't got to.
When you’re so engrossed in the screams of metal, it makes you stronger. I’ve been listening to metal for long time. Without subtitles, there are few instances where Will speak sings.
This trilogy is beautifully heartbreaking.
It in itself is a piece of art. It broke the mold.
Has me in tears every time i see/hear it.
I can relate more than most could possibly imagine. Hits home hard everytime. Loss, grief and overcoming so much pain over n over again. It's doable.. I still feel it. But I'm strong. You gotta just keep moving forward
Having only Good thoughts of the past!
^^ agreed!!
Yep got me again! the emotion in this trilogy is on another level, it's beautiful, nice reaction x
Love the insight and the discussion you guys had throughout the whole video. Deep stuff
The pain.
