Because you can't win football, it's just like life, full of ups and downs. Sure you can be the best team for a season, a decade, but you can't win football forever.
There's some really good stuff in here, sadly let down by some notable errors. Such as: Not every club (or even close) was founded by railway workers. The Football Alliance was not the second division (there was no promotion or relegation, they were rival leagues), and there was a reason Newton Heath stayed up in 1892-93 (there was no automatic promotion or relegation, but a series of play-offs known as Test matches. Newton Heath beat 2nd division winners Small Heath to stay up, but lost to Liverpool in 1894). The Davies takeover happened because he did a deal with Harry Stafford that he would take over the club if his daughter could keep the dog (there is old film footage of her in later life talking about this). The 1956 title was not the first in 41 years, but the 1952 one was (they had won it in 1911). The George Best 'El Beatle' moniker was born in 1965-66 when United beat Benfica 5-1 in Lisbon, not in 1968. The 1974 relegation: results elsewhere meant United would not have stayed up even if they had beaten City, so they did not actually send us down. This is the greatest urban myth spread by blues (and they have a few). Please don't go repeating it!! You didn't mention Docherty winning the 1977 FA Cup. The 10 straight wins was 1985-86 (I was there for three of them). Hughes started drinking AFTER the deal to go to Barcelona was agreed, as he didn't want to go. He wasn't sold because of a drink problem. These may seem like minor things, but they add up. Please double-check all facts because it's generally a very good video, but these errors undermine it somewhat.
Thank you for this. really interesting. I learned so much history about the club. my question is why haven't you made a video about this when you have so much knowledge on the club. Call MTT up and help him with part2
Well, I'm a writer and sub editor more than a video maker, but I can certainly help with editing the narrative. It's always good to have a second person check your work over, even as a professional, but it's not always possible. However, would be happy to collaborate here..😊
We won the FA cup and qualified for the Europa League. Could of been much better but I'm happy with the season. Manchester United continues to make history in a bad era.
Sir Matt busby is former Manchester City and Liverpool’s ex player and at his last days at Liverpool they offered him the assistant manager role but busby demanded more power in team Selection, signings etc that Liverpool board are unwilling to accept that led Matt busby to leave Liverpool and he got Manchester United job.rest is history.
Post fergie era is similar to mixed fortune nerrazzurri in 1991-2004 Their city rival overshadowed them in any aspect Most of their big money transfers unable to meet the expectations or blighted by the injury
Urban Myth about Law, In reality, his goal was irrelevant. Even if United had won, it wouldn't have saved them from relegation as Birmingham beat Norwich to ensure their survival.
After Matt Busby man united went down and then after some years sir Alex came and united become great again since Alex is retired now keep confidence man united will be great again
Love the editing and story telling, reminds me of Vizeh, keep going ik youll make it big one day. Just one note, a little less editing where you don't speak for 'long' periods.
This. Is an iconic and will live along for years to come... A very brief and beautifully presented !!! MANCHESTER UNITED FC' HISTORY .. 🎉 ❤❤❤❤❤ BIG UP MATE ✅💯 A VERY VERY GOOD WORK.. VERY UNDERRATED
East east east Belfast!! Despite all the mispronounciations (my fav was Akisin 😂) you've earned my subscription my man... May be due to the Norn Irish bias aswell but this video was brilliant, loved your choice of music for the background also 👌 can't wait to watch part 2 after the well played cliffhanger with the mysterious blurred out manager 🤔😂 I'm away to admire my Georgie Best shrine ❤️
even though it is close to 70 years since the Munich air disaster, it still saddens me that the players like Duncan Edwards and Tommy Taylor could have been in the conversation for the Greatest if the crash didn't happen
Bro, Man United is easily the most popular club in the world right now Imagine their popularity if the Busby Babes lived on Maybe they'd have achieved 20 league titles in the mid 2000s They'd be so much more massive
It’s so interesting seeing history repeating itself with the era after Busby being so similar to the era after fergie
Also how man city were involved in a scandal and had to sell their players. Fingers crossed it happens again 😂
Liverpool gonna go through it at the end of this season
Because you can't win football, it's just like life, full of ups and downs. Sure you can be the best team for a season, a decade, but you can't win football forever.
atkinson coming 3rd in the league and making it to 2 cup finals in his first season sounds so similar to ten hag lol
@woocash_9582 some people find it difficult to understand this .
10:33 I never knew Real Madrid suggested this. That is sportsmanship on the highest level.
Sportsmanship they had sadly lost by the early 2000s 😔
They lent us players for some games during that period, friendly games but still it counted
they also offer alfredo di stefano for loan after the accident, but FA reject it, something about foreigner player rule or something.
That is why Real madrid and Manchester United have Mutual respect for each other
they also offered us di stefano, real madrid used to be beacon of light in the world of football
Love how you showed maguire with legends

You know how city likes to overhype themselves because they could only dream of having a history like Man UTD.
The 1977 FA Cup was the only trophy they won during the 70s, and prevented Liverpool winning the treble. But I guess Matt didn't realise that.
Now I wish you had made the video. 👍
No matter what, I’ll always love this football club. GGMU ❤

0:08 he put harry maguire as a legend 😭😭
Are you saying he isn’t?
...
Cause he is
Well, I mean he is.
He was
Real Madrid suggesting giving Manchester United the European Cup (now champions league) trophy. Absolutely class act ❤
Madrid now have like 40 of them so could definitely have spared 1 too 😅
The literal reason it wasn’t called Manchester Celtic was because one of the board members said that there was only one Celtic.
😂
Bro, where's part 2? This video is handy for foreigners! We need part 2! It's already been one month! Great video, by the way.

@@mattfuttie when is the next one?
i was wanting to make a video just like this, also nice to see more northern irish people getting out there and making things
We need that part 2 PLEASE brother
Good video but, the image at 12:37 is Nobby Stiles, Best and Bobby, not Denis Law.
Good Job Mate! Very good Video. And I really like your voice. Keep up like that
The trinity was Law, Best and Charlton. Stiles whilst very important wasn't part of the trinity
Kinda funny how after "Douchey" had an affair with team physiotherapist and was sacked, Man Utd appointed a manager named Dave Sexton.
😂
Makes sense. A Douchebag will always cheat but a man who is already having a Ton of Sex has no need to
Bro just upload part 2

Never knew that about Madrid. Fair play.
The reporter Frank Taylor who survived, bought my Grandma and Grandads house off them, in the 70s i think! crazy
Keep going 👏
still waiting for the next one!
That 1958 one was sad😢
Yes, they didn't need to fly that day. Seems like pilot eagerness from this video.
Law's goal for Manchester City did not relegate United, nor was it the final game of the season. I guess you just said that for dramatic purposes.
No wonder nobody talks about it, it wasnt even the final nail in the coffin :l
Was expecting a bill wurtz style video, great video though
“Home to many footballing legends” as he shows a picture of Harry Maguire
