Love your reactions! I still find it hard to believe that this is a cappella sometimes and I’ve seen them perform it last summer! Lol. It was amazing. They sounded just like this. They have so many good songs I wouldn’t know where to start. Lol. Besides this song, they also won Grammys for “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Jolene” with Dolly Parton. There’s also their original album. There’s a video for “Can’t Sleep Love” And they performed a few songs live for iHeart Radio on the Honda Sound Stage. You could check them out too. 👌🏽

I'm so excited that you're starting to get into Pentatonix! They have some absolutely amazing songs I don't even know what to suggest... all I can say is you are in for a HUGE treat if you stick with this :) excellent job!
I'm happy to say I have seen PTX in concert 3 times now and am seeing them a fourth time in May. The first time I saw them, they talked about the critics saying that "there's no way they could be that good without Technological help," so they turned off the mics, put them on the ground and sang Light in the Hallway COMPLETELY accapella in a stadium housing 5000+ people. I have never been more moved by a performance and I doubt I ever will.
lots of people recommending love again, and i agree as well!! one of their best original songs, especially if you love this cover of theirs. love again is one of my favorites of their original songs personally, and i highly recommend it!!
Can I just say, this was so fun to watch. I actually enjoyed that you weren't pausing constantly, you were just immersed in the video! Your reactions were fun to watch.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your reaction to Daft Punk!! It is so amazing how and where PTX filmed this video (Avi's closet) and cost them $400 to make ... then they won their very 1st Grammy from this!!
Good morning, from Los Angeles California, it's about 7:00 a.m. here, just waking up to your video reactions. I know, it's hard to know what to say to their videos, cuz they're all so good. Keep up the journey, you won't be disappointed. Oh, you should also look up Avi singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight in overtone singing. It's "that sound" that he's making in this video.
just like Sean said in his 1st reaction to them in The Sing Off, he swore Kevin was cheating...but just like he sounds that great in the show, which was recorded live, I can assure you, he is not cheating. They sound just as amazing, if not better in concert! I like when seeing them in concert because they can play with certain melodies/lines, etc. and it makes it a little more different from their videos but sounds just as good! So happy to bring another Pentaholic to the family...WELCOME!!! oh...and if you ever have any questions about their songs/videos/personal lives, just ask because there will be at least 1 if not more, Pentaholics that know! lol :)
Hello! La La Latch is a song I really like. Can't Hold Us, Rather Be....also they came back to the Sing Off the next year and performed I Need Your Love (they also have a music video of that song) These are all older.....but it's a continuing journey lol.
So honestly I’ve been watching pentatonix for the 1st time as you react to them, I have to say I really don’t know a lot of their music as the origionals are stuff I would never listen to, not my kind of thing but like home free I am amazed at how they do what they do.... incredible talent. Loved the reaction.
Their original “Run to You” makes me cry. Don’t say a blanket statement of not liking their originals, until you’ve seen this one. I dare you not to be moved by it!!
I think you need to re-read what I wrote, their base type of music they do the most of that I have seen ‘is not my kind of music’ but I do very much appreciate the way they do it. 90% of the artists they did on the sing off is stuff I would never listen to, I like their version and how they accomplish it, it’s amazing and entertaining as hell ‘but not my type of music’ mostly. They get top marks plus for ability and talent but it’s like someone that listens to opera and other types of music to like grunge, it’s probably not gonna happen. Their voices are incredible, their talent is undeniable, their arrangements are beyond inspired, but with the exception of some songs... it’s like an opera lover listening to grunge, does that clarify for you.... I’ll listen to everything they do probably more than once because of their skill, talent and creativity.... but about 80% would not make it onto a regular playlist. Avi’s new stuff he has done since leaving pentatonix is more my type of music....
sean currell I quote, “the originals are not something I listen to.” That’s the sentence I addressed. I agree about the level of talent. Most musicians have backup music to orient themselves, and help carry the song. When you are acapella and have no accompaniment, the amount of time and energy it takes to produce a song is magnified and multiplied. They spend an average of 80% MORE time on a song, an album, and a tour than the average group. That’s one reason Avi Kaplan dropped out in 2017-the pace was INSANE. They were spending a gazillion hours on producing, recording and then touring. He missed his family, and thought bowing out would be best. They were lucky to find someone phenomenal to replace him. Scott Hoying is a mastermind of sorts. He helped set the group up for “The Sing-Off”, he pushed them to make RUclips videos when their label dropped them. All of this while he was in his early twenties. Now he and their arranger, Ben Bram, have discovered and are producing a girls-only acapella act: CITIZEN QUEEN. And he’s STILL only 27!
Drieux Koeppel I see where you misinterpreted what I was saying I meant the original artists are of a music type I would not listen to, I think one in the sing off was Kanye west, I couldn’t name a single song or likely recognize one. Just not my thing. So not the accapela either I LOVE that, I’m a big fan of home free witch won the sing of the year after pentatonix. But they are more country and soft pop in their musical selections, country I haven’t been into so much but home frees versions are a little more upbeat and closer to what I’m usually into... stuff pentatonix has done like hallelujah is awesome, best rendition I’ve ever heard hands down. Loved bohemian rhapsody too and added it to my playlist. :) I’m soooo tempted to go look up your suggestion and watch it now but honestly I started watching pentatonix with patrol gaming so I think I’ll wait till he does a reaction (hopefully soon (that is unless of course your bored with pentatonix lol, somehow I think not lol)
sean currell Completely understand what you’re saying. I’m 59, and have eclectic music tastes. My Mom (my dad wasn’t around) was a big folk music aficionado. ‘Peter, Paul & Mary’; ‘Ian & Sylvia’ and ‘The Weavers’ (and later Pete Seeger when he left The Weavers) played A LOT at our house. She was also BIG BIG on opera. I love love love opera. Mozart? I’m there. ‘The Magic Flute’; ‘Don Giovanni’ and others I’ve seen more than once. Puccini? ‘Madama Butterfly’ & ‘La Boheme’? Make me cry. I also am a ‘70s music fan-listening to XM’s “‘70s on 7” a lot. I love Broadway musicals, and because my oldest son lives in NYC, I’ve seen a few. Most modern music I’m not fond of, but I do like some. Lana Del Rey. Maroon 5. Lady GaGa. Etc. I don’t like rap or hip hop generally, except some Logic or Eminem. My hubby of 37 years is from Europe, so I’ve learned more about Strauss, Handel, Schubert and Bach among others. Like I said, eclectic. Question. If you’re not a PTX fan, why react? Just curious. I became a Pentaholic mainly because I sing, and I’ve sung acapella and madrigals. It’s a LOT OF WORK.
There is a video "Meat and Potatoes" which I think shows the connection Avi and Kevin have, that plays a large part in how well they worked together. Some of the additional sounds you are hearing is Avi, take a look at "Avi overtone singing The Lion Sleeps Tonight". Enjoying videos, keep up the good work!
The connection they HAD in the past. Avi left the group in 2017. Matt Sallee is now the bass, and he and Kevin do some great stuff together-especially on stage. (I saw them last August in Scranton, PA!)
Love your reactions, and welcome to the fandom! Pentatonix is amazing and I have that same smile you were talking about when I listen to them. Now that you and I have spent almost 3 hours together, I'm signing off. That pentatonix vortex gets me every time!!
I have never seen this one before. I love...love...love travelling this journey with you. AND...I love you and your reactions. I just saw IMAGINE. and O MY... I am tearing up. I would love to hear your reaction (sometimes you make me laugh out loud with your expressions...so much heart!) . Can't wait!!
You've done a review of their Sing-Off performances. You've seen them in later videos. They started to show their real power with the Sing-Off's "Let's Get It On" - enough that you could see the total amazement in the reactions of their opponents. But can you imagine their reaction if PTX had done their arrangement of "Sounds of Silence" or "Hallelujah" for that show? Their competition would have conceded right there. Nobody can touch this group. All we can do is recognize our amazing luck that got such talented people together to demonstrate conclusively that sometimes, the whole is greater than the simple sum of its parts.
My man just got a sub from me for wearing a Redskins hat(even if we are terrible this year!)!! Great reaction, Pentatonix are AMAZEBALLS...seriously they are unbelievable live, if they make it down under I highly recommend going!! Keep the reviews coming!
Love your reactions...you will get tons of requests...I recommend just going down their list of videos...the evolutions are all live done in one take...watch copy right on their Christmas music alot get blocked but so worth the watch/listen. There are some great ones recorded live by fans..aha and standing by are 2. They started recording at Avi & Kevin's apt on a couch for their videos for fans and they pay homage to that with their Bohemein Rapsody...Thank you
I always love seeing new people discover this very talented group! Been following them since 2011. You must see the off mic private performance!! ❤️your new subbie
I think I've mentioned this in the comment section of one of your previous video but let me do this again 😊 "Scott Introduces Avi, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Singapore, Mastercard Theatre (Last Show)" showcases Avi's Overtone Singing skills. Great audio and video quality for this recording. I'm loving your reviews so far! 👍
Each member has their own side projects. Mitch and Scott have Superfruit. They just released a cover of The Promise starring American figure skater Adam Rippon
It was so funny to see their newest cover of Come Along pop up at the end of the Daft Punk video. It just reminded me how old Daft Punk actually is because they all look like children in that video compared to Come Along :D. It also made me wonder how you're going to react to their newer stuff with Matt as the bass. I feel like us newer fans have easier time accepting Matt, but he is obviously very different from Avi, so it's gonna be interesting. I myself discovered them only about a month back through their cover of Sound of Silence which is...just ridiculous. I mean...Pentatonix, man :D. Can't wait to see you reacting to that one.
I’m sure someone’s already mentioned it, but the blue eyes kinda ties back to Daft Punk’s album “Discovery” and the first four songs: “One More Time”, “Aerodynamic”, “Digital Love”, and “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. The MVs are done as Animes where the people’s skin tones are in blues. (^~^) 💕🦋
Great reaction! Love watching you do these iconic PTX songs! Daft Punk was definitely Grammy-worthy! Check out their other Grammy wins. When they perform this live they sound just as good,(there's a link in another comment below of a Daft Punk live performance where you can see this for yourself). It is hard to believe the sounds Kevin & Avi make are human, but they are and you can see that in their live performances. Avi sometimes does something called "overtone singing" which is cool. He did it in Dog Days are Over on the Singoff where he makes 2 sounds simultaneously. Very difficult. In their upbeat original song, "Sing", Kevin does a rap part and at 2:20 of that vid he calls himself "the human 808" which is an electronic drum sound board. You know you're a Pentaholic when you say a 5 min. song should have been longer! Haha! Looking forward to Imagine and Mary Did You Know!

I love, that you couldn't stop bouncing. Please keep superfruit in your mind. A sideprojeckt from mitch and scott. It's Not a capella but is great fun and entertainment. And outstanding Videos.
They worked so hard since they had no label. When they mentioned "their album is out today" it was an EP. They had to do it that way, and they did! Literally got their careers going on RUclips after Sony renigged on the recording contract they won from The Sing Off. Thank goodness for Patreons back then! They had very little money and were determined to see this through instead of just going back to their lives like the sing off never happened. This video was shot with corner drugstore eye contacts in one members closet, and the kitchen! I hope you watch the sing off episode when they announced the winner! The three kids (Scott, Mitch and Kristin) looked so nervous! Mitch and Kirstie were holding hands and I think Mitch was fighting a panic attack. You have to see their reactions to the announcement.
Awesome reaction! Everything they do is amazing, it's hard to pick favorites lol Not sure if these have been requested yet, but I'd LOVE to see reactions to these: Where Are U Now Sing (original song) Aha! Singapore, The Star Vista (Live) Gold You Da One Can't Help Falling in Love God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Live on Jimmy Kimmel) New Years Day 2016 NYE w/ Carson Daly (another original, but performed live) There are so many more, but I don't want to overwhelm you lol Also, if you are interested, Scott and Mitch have a channel called Superfruit, many amazing covers and originals over there. Future Friends part 1 and part 2 is there EP, but split into two. Every single song is AMAZING. Some personal favorites are Deny U, GUY.EXE, Imaginary Parties, Future Friends, and Vacation. But all of them are bops.
They won the Sing-Off Nov 8, 2011 & posted the Daft Punk video Nov 4, 2013. It's a mashup of 7 songs. I'm going to drop a link to the video of Kevin celloboxing which led Scott to ask him to join them, and a much more recent Kevin video. if you go in the PTX list of songs that were done, pick out one that you know very well and react to that one to see how PTX has put their spin on it. 2 great xmas covers were Carol of the Bells and Little Drummer Boy ( a gem). Their Perfect cover includes Kevin playing the cello. If you're feeling good and want a tear jerker try Say Something. Love your channel and will listen to whatever you do, just awesome.
kikimo57 I agree 100%. Little Drummer Boy has been my favourite Xmas carol since I was a little girl and their cover is perfection, as is Carol of the Bells. A song I highly recommend for good feels is Sing, one of their own songs. Can't Sleep Love is another one I absolutely love.
New subscriber in Texas here! Great reaction! This was a 7 song medley. Keep up the great work and may I suggest: Royal's, Evolution of Music, Evolution of Michael Jackson, Where R U Now and Cheerleader? Thanks! :)
Great reactions, mate. Anything by Pentatonix is pure gold...so do a reaction to "Gold" (Kiiara cover) or anything else. Yes, Love Again" is great, or "Royals", or "Cheerleader" or "Sing" (also original), or anything.
You can do a reaction to their new videos?? Or do a reaction to their evoulution? It's amazing how Kirstin (the girl) has improved a lot. She was good but now she is amazing! She has a fantastic vocal range too. In "Sing-off" she was not so confident. And didn't lead so many songs, and didn't have so many parts in Ptx's covers. Now she is more confident, and have so many parts in their songs. She was the most underrated in the group but now she isn't more. I love them all but she is amazing. Definetly my Ptx favorite member. Her evolution, vocal range, angelic voice.. So perfect! I would like to watch a reaction about how much powerful and how much she has grown. The others members grown vocally too but she did the most.
Personally I feel that Kevin and Avi and Matt now seem to do more of the work. I know singing can be taxing. And it is awesome to hear oakes like Kevin doing beatboxing which in itself is hard but Kevin makes it look so easy and particularly in this compilation he makes electronic, along with Avi, seem quite straightforward. I always have loved the bass, being a bass myself, not nearly as deep as Avi, and percussion together. These two add so much to the music that I sometimes love listening to them. Having said that Mitch, Scott and Kirstin have amazing voices and really good ranges so well done to a seriously successful a capella group. Avi you will be missed but I know Matt is also really good and glad Pentatonix has not become Tetratonix. Keep well guys and honestly this is my most favourite Pentatonix song I have listened to, mostly because Avi gets a bit of a solo and he sings real deep which always gives me thrills. To think that a person can sing that low is awesome.
Can't wait till you get to their recent music to hear Sound of Silence! Also definitely go down the rabbit hole of Superfruit (Mitch and Scott's separate channel)!
In the group's Grammy acceptance speech Scott told the audience that if a song recorded in a closet on an IPad with a video filmed in a kitchen can win a Grammy then anything is possible.
When you compare this vid with Sound of Silence, you can hear the maturity of their voices in the newest video, especial Kirstin. Their voices are now richer, more nuanced, with more depth. But one thing, from the Sing Off to Sound of Silence, they have fun when they sing, and it comes through.
You should do a reaction to Pentatonix feat. Lindsey Sterling's version of "Radioactive".. And then follow it up maybe with Lindsey Sterling feat. Lzzy Hale - "Shatter Me".. Lindsey Sterling makes the coolest videos for her music, hell of a lot better than most mainstream artists today.
Hard to believe the audio for this was recorded in a closet, the video was filmed in their makeup artist's small kitchen with a backdrop, and they spent less than $400 for makeup and costumes. And it earned them their first Grammy award. That's talent. Keep up the fun reactions!

@@1cuno They did their own makeup, shot it themselves in Avi's apartment. What's not to believe? They have commented on it in several interviews.

RC Tucker I think so.
The whole group individually are super talented but to me Avi and Kevin are really under rated for the things they were doing in this medley.
Love Again, their original has the same vibe as this. That's a great one to watch.
"Love Again" is Maximum Meat and Potatoes. The throat bass Kevin does on it is next-level.
It is a must see
@@ischmidt Dude his growl is sick in that. It's like mixed with his actual voice while beatboxing. Just incredible
Lola McCready I like Love Again a lot better than daft punk. I agree in suggesting that one!
Love again is probably my favourite of their original songs

Daft Punk has been SO influential to music a band does a song to honor the songs they gave us.
In response to your question, there are seven songs in this mashup.
-Technologic (opening)
--One More Time (Mitch)
--Get Lucky (Sc0tt)
--Digital Love (Kirstin)
--Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger (all)
--Television Rules the Nation (Avi)
Also, Kirstin sings "Around the World" three times while Avi is doing "Television..." and then twice in the giant breakdown at the end. It's not nearly as obvious as the first six, but it's there, and its placement is oddly appropriate, considering the original Daft Punk song.
Run to you is an original. It is one of my favorite songs by them. Truly amazing song.

I love your reactions! You make me wish I could go back to the beginning and experience it all over again. 😊
I love how you're rocking so hard the camera and mic are shaking just a lil.
lots of people recommending love again, and i agree as well!! one of their best original songs, especially if you love this cover of theirs. love again is one of my favorites of their original songs personally, and i highly recommend it!!
My fave song... AND you posted this on my birthday! Thank you so much!
So cool that you just recently discovered Pentatonix......you are late to the party.....but glad you joined the Pentaholic nation. Welcome.
Hello! Love you and your reactions.
The Sound Of Silence is a great cover. You'll really enjoy it. Thank you, hugs, 🎵
just like Sean said in his 1st reaction to them in The Sing Off, he swore Kevin was cheating...but just like he sounds that great in the show, which was recorded live, I can assure you, he is not cheating. They sound just as amazing, if not better in concert! I like when seeing them in concert because they can play with certain melodies/lines, etc. and it makes it a little more different from their videos but sounds just as good! So happy to bring another Pentaholic to the family...WELCOME!!! oh...and if you ever have any questions about their songs/videos/personal lives, just ask because there will be at least 1 if not more, Pentaholics that know! lol :)
It's nice to see you happy as you have been through hard times, but now ENJOY!!!!!!!! xx
Simply FANTASTIC.
I’m soooo tempted to go look up your suggestion and watch it now but honestly I started watching pentatonix with patrol gaming so I think I’ll wait till he does a reaction (hopefully soon (that is unless of course your bored with pentatonix lol, somehow I think not lol)
sean currell Completely understand what you’re saying.
(I saw them last August in Scranton, PA!)
beatboxer and vibe-guy (forgot the name) are next level , they basically make whole "orchestral" sounds
This is the best! Also.....LOVE the hat!!! HTTR
Loving watching your PTX evolution! Welcome to the Pentaholics! We've all gone through the same epiphany. Welcome home. We've been waiting for you!
Ptx- run to you is another heart warming and make you cry beautiful kind of song. New sub here
Yes it is Kevin doing all those sounds. :))
My man just got a sub from me for wearing a Redskins hat(even if we are terrible this year!)!! Great reaction, Pentatonix are AMAZEBALLS...seriously they are unbelievable live, if they make it down under I highly recommend going!! Keep the reviews coming!
Thanks for watching. PTX is here in Feb I have VIP tickets to go see them. Can't wait.
I enjoy your reactions but i also knew it would be worth it..Man U hat and a Washington Redskins hat..perfect combo..both are my favorite teams
#HTTR!
i wish ptx would do more like this song and love again, the outfits and the way the music went together was just soooo
Love your reaction. Please react to dance of the sugar plum. It shows their range really well. Love from the netherlands
Can't wait to see you reacting to that one.
the true art is in the original music by daft punk; without them, none of this would ever have come to be!
Duft Punk shows all their talents clearly to see.
Yayyyy loving your PTX reactions!

The kitties were the best ~ I just adore them. I can see that you're a softy too when it comes to animals.
I love, that you couldn't stop bouncing. Please keep superfruit in your mind. A sideprojeckt from mitch and scott. It's Not a capella but is great fun and entertainment. And outstanding Videos.
Listen to their version of Mary did you know. You want to talk about feelings, wow
You really should listen to The Sound of Silence by Pentatonix next. They absolutely kill it!
Awesome reaction! Everything they do is amazing, it's hard to pick favorites lol Not sure if these have been requested yet, but I'd LOVE to see reactions to these:
Where Are U Now
Sing (original song)
Aha! Singapore, The Star Vista (Live)
Gold
You Da One
Can't Help Falling in Love
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Live on Jimmy Kimmel)
New Years Day 2016 NYE w/ Carson Daly (another original, but performed live)
There are so many more, but I don't want to overwhelm you lol
Also, if you are interested, Scott and Mitch have a channel called Superfruit, many amazing covers and originals over there. Future Friends part 1 and part 2 is there EP, but split into two. Every single song is AMAZING. Some personal favorites are Deny U, GUY.EXE, Imaginary Parties, Future Friends, and Vacation. But all of them are bops.
The amount of sighing *INTENSIFIES*
That was their first Grammy. And they shot it in one of their kitchens 2 years after the Sing Off.

Enjoy! 😁
if you go in the PTX list of songs that were done, pick out one that you know very well and react to that one to see how PTX has put their spin on it.
Thanks! :)
Thank you for watching.
Great reactions, mate. Anything by Pentatonix is pure gold...so do a reaction to "Gold" (Kiiara cover) or anything else. Yes, Love Again" is great, or "Royals", or "Cheerleader" or "Sing" (also original), or anything.
Just found your channel tonight (subscribed) and have never heard of Pentatonix....
Believe it or not, they sound exactly the same live! I got to see them in 2017 before Avi left the group, it’s incredible.
They won their first Grammy for this one. They recorded it on an iPad in a bedroom. It was a major achievement!
Kevin IS actually doing all that. Mindblowing, isn't it!!?
*me realizing that Avi was shirtless in this video and that it took me 7 years to notice:* 👁👄👁
The JOURNEY CONTINUES!
You remind me of me when I first discovered them lol.
There's so much more you can react to! Run to you which is an original, Gold, Ride and so many others! I really enjoy your reactions!
You should definitely react to Superfruit's video where Mitch and Scott react to themselves on the Sing Off!!
The Wizard of Ahhhhhs is well worth the watch.
in my opinion he only listened, than not only drew conclusions and went nuts.
A little side note Daft Punk, Love Again as well as Perfume Medley were all filmed and recorded in a closet at one there houses.
If you still want to watch a very emotional video of the Pentatonix then check out '' The Sound of Silence '' from them
Personally I feel that Kevin and Avi and Matt now seem to do more of the work.
5:58 Avi and Kevin raise their heads at the exact same time.
VegetarianCarrot Music 😂😂idk why I laughed
Can't wait till you get to their recent music to hear Sound of Silence! Also definitely go down the rabbit hole of Superfruit (Mitch and Scott's separate channel)!
Silent Night in a church is one that always makes me weep.
If you want to see an original song that they actually wrote "Sing" is a good one.
In the group's Grammy acceptance speech Scott told the audience that if a song recorded in a closet on an IPad with a video filmed in a kitchen can win a Grammy then anything is possible.
"Know it's going to be good" you say? Darn, it won a Bloody Grammy for them. How much better can it get?
When you compare this vid with Sound of Silence, you can hear the maturity of their voices in the newest video, especial Kirstin. Their voices are now richer, more nuanced, with more depth. But one thing, from the Sing Off to Sound of Silence, they have fun when they sing, and it comes through.
Wow, this takes me back.
If you like Home Free and Pentatonix, I highly recommend Home Free's cover of Ring of Fire featuring Avi Kaplan.
Run to You will make you cry. Enjoy!
Mitch is incredible in the sum anchor and Scott is not far behind him makes me wanna cry
You will LOVE anything PTX!!!! So react to any!! I will love it!! 💖💖💖
This video won them their first Grammy.
