Thank you. You're using Microsoft Edge Chromium - is that a separate upload for Windows 10 instead of the Edge that comes with Windows 10? Is it important whether you're using Edge Chromium or will it work with Edge?
Excellent question. The documentation says Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 Microsoft Edge, version 79 and above on Windows 10. docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/portal-create-screen-recording#supported-browsers-and-limitations I assumed that meant both versions of Edge, but I think I'm wrong. I just tested this on the older version Edge and it didn't work.
@@CollaborationCoach To the best of my knowlwedge, Chromium is a Free Open Source software. Google Chrome is based on Chromium, using far less RAM than other browsers. Microsoft Edge has rolled out a new Edge version, which is Chromium based as well.
Thanks a lot. Your videos are complete and simple, quite easy to follow. I appreciate it. I started using Edge in the last weeks, as well as Microsoft Stream. A (not so) funny thing happened the first time I tried Stream. I got a blank screen! I tried almost every trick I could think of, or find out through the web. Finally, the only 'wrong' thing seemed to be that I had Catalan as Edge language. Just by switching to Spanish, English, German, ... it was fixed! Any guess?. Is Stream not getting along with Catalan? Thx!
@@CollaborationCoach I do not understand it either. You can make a quick test. Open your browser (I use Edge or Chrome), open microsoftstream.com, in a new tab go to browser settings and change temporarily language to Catalan; go back to the tab with Microsoft Stream and refresh it. In my case I've done this with several browsers and it's always the same: blank screen with Catalan as browser language :-(. Thx
Hi. I am using webstreams to record my screen while I am doing a voiceover. My video recording stops in the middle without letting me know. Why is that happening.
Matt, Thanks for posting such useful videos. I tried creating a Form with 12 questions. However, when i share the form (via hyperlink) or preview it, I see only 5 questions not all 12. What could be the reason. Please help me resolving this issue. I posted this comment on your Forms video as well but havent received response. Hence, posting it on your latest video. Dont mind. Thx
Questions: 1. How is it compared to Snag it / other 3rd party tools ? 2. Can you DOWNLOAD the video 3. Can we increase the limit of 15 minutes, lets say I want to record my screen for 1.5 hours, what is the best way to do this ?
My only criticism of this, and it may be fixed by now, is the lack of inclusiveness it presents by not having the auto-generated captions. I believe that's because they are using the WebM format, but the subs are very useful for our organisation so I've told users to stick with OBS for now.
That is is indeed very crude. No way to trim the video, no chance to add any text or highlights, no option to output the video. The use case for this can be quite limited.
Agree there are plenty of free apps for proper editing. You can download the video: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/portal-download-video You can trim videos in the browser with Stream: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/stream/portal-edit-trim
Cheers Matt. Would you be able to recommend a WEBM video file editor? (I was hoping Premiere Pro would be able to read such a file but, alas, no. Having searched, there are either demo versions that are too restrictive or online conversions - which are not possible for my organisation. My org is also not likely to support me financially to buy a licence either!).
No I can't recommend any free editors that supports WEBM because I don't use them. But there is a open source WEBM plugin for Premiere: github.com/fnordware/AdobeWebM I can't vouch for it because I don't use it.

Hi! Are you going the make an updated version of this video for Stream on SharePoint?
That's great. But can you tell me how you recorded the screen and applied the frame shadow as shown in 0:07
We use Screenflow by Telestream to make our videos.

Not sure what happened there. I checked the Stream should support Catalan.

Awesome
Great video, mate. Thanks for making it. I it possible to use Stream to conduct webinars to the public?
Best to use Live Events for webinars:

know when they will extend this feature past 15 minutes? 15 minutes is quite limited if I find myself wanting to add more details
Don't know
Excellent explaination.
Glad you liked it
Here’s hoping they launch a chrome extension that lets you launch this from anywhere.

Sorry I don't know the answer. I would raise a ticket with Microsoft.

Its v. basic compared to other tools. You can download the video. I don't think you can change the limit.
I can see the possibilities for my 2 minute quick How- to Guides
Go for it!

They do have auto generated captions, if you set the 'video language' when you upload the video to Stream.
The big question is. What did you use to record THIS video. 🤯
Screenflow

Does it work in Chrome in Linux? Remember that "Microsoft loves Linux", or at least it's what they say
Linux is not currently supported.
