  • Guitar cover of "Fight Fire With Fire, by the mighty ‪@metallica‬ This is one of the heaviest and fastest songs, in Metallica's catalog. Which is saying something! Always loved this one, but never sat down and learned it all the way through, until now. A great song to learn to get your picking hand into shape!

    Great job. People want metallica to record something like mop or justice but I think at their age and patience level, an album like ride is easily within striking distance especially given what lux eterna sounds like riff and drums wise.

    • @DeweyJHall1
      @DeweyJHall1  Год назад +16

      Thanks! I think they could easily record any of them again, if they wanted. Especially right now. They're rested and been sounding killer live! Even if they did, people would always say the RTL, MOP, or justice was better. I think what's hurting them alot is the new guitar sound they have. It's not dirty and thick like those 80s tones. It's less gain and more loud. Kirk's lead tone especially is too clean. The stuff he does, sounds alot more impressive with a nice, juicy lead tone. I wish he would give more thought into his leads these days tho. His stuff on RTL, MOP, Justice, and the black album are masterpieces.

      @DeweyJHall1  7 дней назад +1

      Thank you so much! I know there's a ton of acoustic layers on that intro. It sure sounds like there's a harpsicord being layered in there. Unless that's a 12 string giving it that effect. They used a 12 string on the verse clean parts on fade to black, so we know there was a 12 string in the studio at the time

    • @DeweyJHall1
      @DeweyJHall1  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you so much! That's a tricky part, just slow it down, and break the notes up. Learn one part, then the next. Once you can play the notes without having to think about what you're playing, increase the speed.
      First I'd say, go with the c body style you like the best. Whether you like the sharp points, or the more rounded tips like a gibson. If you're liking the kings I'd suggest a king v pro v series. Those are really good quality. Also, look into schecter Vs. They're more traditional in shape, but they're awesome

      Thanks a ton, dude!! It took me a bit to learn, as there's some tricky parts, and just the sheer intensity of the song. You have to build some stamina to play it all the way thru. Best to break it up in sections, and learn those. You'll have to keep your picking hand relaxed as possible. Here's a great lesson on it. The guy really breaks everything down, and this is the tab I learned it from ruclips.net/video/zOq_otFNpS4/видео.html

      Thanks so much, man! I use a Yamaha THR10X ran through the DAW, Reaper. There's 3 guitar layers, on top of the record. 2 panned about 25% to the left and right. One down the center. I used this Gibson V, a Gibson Explorer, and a Gibson SG, on the recording. Metallica were using Gibsons with passive pickups on RTL so, you can get extremely close to that tone, if you layer tracks, and don't go to heavy on the gain. The layers will add to the heaviness. Hope this all made sense, lol
