One of the best intros of all time, sometimes I play only the intro. don't get me wrong the song is amazing but the intro is beyond this world. For me is like epic or the feeling of someone ready for a battle.... I don't know..

Jason also came up with the main riff...easily, one of the most dark and metal riffs to still exist.
so FUCKING good. I've watched like 20 covers of this song on youtube and your tone is by far the best, its just so damn clear and percussive. the palm muted E's in the main riff sound so good. I would give anything for that tone lol

Dude, this is a GREAT cover of a really, really tough song. This is easily one of my favorite Metallica songs ever. I'm 40 now and still remember when I bought And Justice for All on tape and heard Blackened for the first time. Absolutely blew my mind. I've recently come back to playing guitar after many years and I'm learning this song again. Just want to say I appreciate the hell out of this cover, because it is NOT easy. But it is very rewarding when it starts coming together.

That song is easy to play alternative picking, nothing that impressive.
He's downpicking and that's how it's supposed to be played
You hit that technique sweet spot where your playing has just the right amount of startling tightness and precision but without sounding mechanical. Your tone slays too.

great cover ive always like the sound of down picking better but this sounds nice
he is down picking the verses which is the part that is most noticebale. Most wouldb't even notice the alternate picking in the intro if it were a blind test. I'd alternate pick the intro too-- long song to downpick all the way through

The most challenging part of playing that song is the fact that it’s played all downstroke. You’re not challenging yourself to be a better guitar player. It’s cheating everyone including himself.

@@johnp82 No way guy thrasher plays it all downpicking tight af.. nails the solo and does it all wearing a GAS MASK while standing up and playing. The person in this video above does alright but he needs to do nothing but downpick for a year if he wants to play this properly. The pick attack isnt hard enough when he uses an upstroke after the fretted E notes.
@@tankutaydinliyim For the solo's try this. Play any note on the fretboard with your first finger. Pick the note very soft. You can almost barely feel the string vibrate while your fretting finger is pressing down on the note. Now play the same note again only this time pick it HARD. You can now feel the string vibrate under your fretting hand finger. Each note should FEEL like this. When you try to play fast while using your ear your brain has to try to process the sound of each note which takes longer than doing it by feel. And of course you should do this slowly at first elminating all tension while slowly building speed.

Well done! As some people have posted it's not 100% correctly played as you're missing out a lot of the E down strokes. But it's your interpretation of the song and it still sounds great!!
