About the Album:
More Blood, More Tracks is the latest chapter in Columbia/Legacy’s highly acclaimed Bob Dylan Bootleg Series. This album contains the pivotal studio recordings made by Bob Dylan during six extraordinary sessions in 1974-four in New York (September 16, 17, 18, 19) and two in Minneapolis (December 27, 30)-that resulted in the artist’s 1975 masterpiece, Blood On The Tracks.

Debra so sad!
The singer who inspired my life.
I dont always love his voice, but his lyrics and melodies are so hauntingly beautiful. He had such a prophesy and wisdom long before his years. and the harmonica, always breaks my heart. the harmonica that starts at 4:00 just made me cry.

This is getting ridiculous. Spending hours and hours happily wandering through the Dylan available on youtube. Beats the hell out of whats on tv though. "::)
right on !! on the nose!
The alternate takes of the songs on this album are even more heartbreaking and beautiful.
Yes! I think exactly because it’s more heartbreaking it’s more beautiful. Or perhaps sublime is a better word
Couldn’t agree more!
thats why he hid them..read heylins book on the recordings of bd.
i love the intimacy and clarity of this version! Better than the album version. imo
Nick Dudesville I prefer the album version, it has a better chord progression and feels angstier
Totally agree
I agree with you. This version is more suttle. I also think the Hard Rain version is better than the Blood on the Tracks version
I totally agree with you! It's a true miracle!
Yeah. I prefer this too
I don't understand how anyone can listen to this song and not feel deeply touched. It's painfully beautiful.
Listen to Kurt Wagners version
well at least 90 people agree bro tru dat
This version is shit . Bob likes to fuck up his own songs cause he is a bored small man with no confidence. He will always be a nerd inside. Nerds fuck up masterpieces because needs are assholes.
He was still getting familiar with the song. You write the song, then you have to get familiar with it. That's how it works. This is only the second take.😵 You nerd.
Malibu Poet (1) This version was earlier than the album version. (2) I’m sorry that you’re such a sad excuse for a human being.

This version breaks me so deeply. That "ooooohhhh" is just filled with such resignation.
honestly, after 55 years living with this man and his great music every day since 13 years old and "Chimes of Freedom" battered me into consciousness, it's like this: there's Dylan and then there's everybody else.
It looks like we're the same age. My favorite Dylan era was in high school when Dylan would ring out of my room. He would stay with me when my friends and I would drive through the town. I graduated in 1969.

Couldn't be more true. I keep wondering how he pulled it off across two millennia.
Bob Dylan is such an amazing songwriter. He is in a league of his own.

Putting it mildly.

never heard this version before...probably the most intimate sounding song he's ever done...
too personal so he suppressed it..and in minnesta session he reworked some words in at least 1 song.
This is probably my favorite song off of Blood on the Tracks. This song reminds me so perfectly of one of my old relationships and the ultimate fallout of it. As sad as this song is, I always feel happy knowing that someone I look up to so much wrote a song that somehow embodies those feelings so perfectly

I can feel you, Bob!
This song always seriously resonated with me . Feelsbad being full of feels right .
Referenced Bob and Used that line in my sisters eulogy.
The only other line that comes close to that feeling in modern music that I know of was written by Pete Townsend in "Athena".
"My heart felt just like shattered glass in an acid bath."
Exactly...my favourite line in this song, as well.
My favorite line too.....
my favourite line too!!!
Only those with a deeper connection with something unsayable can come up with something like this. Inner beauty is mostly expressed through words and through music, Dylan is one of those souls. May his message stay young forever.
indeed
Many of us feel this. However, Dylan can express in poetry!

How does Bobby know what I'm feeling?
Right?! He should be a psychologist.
Because we are all quite similar and have similar feelings and experiences when you cut out all the noise of the barriers that people created for themselves such as religion, race, languages and so on. we all go through heartbreak at some point in our life and different types of heartbreak, Dylan is just an exceptional talent that he can tap into those feelings that we all have experienced with his honest voice and lyrics. No one comes close or will ever come close to being at Dylan's level at those talents.
@@Theimbennn Wise words my friend, and all true. Inlakesh.
There's a perfect Dylan song for literally every mood and life event. It's uncanny. Once in a lifetime talent.
sunshine864 you nailed it with this simple question my friend! I don’t know the answer to it but he knows exactly how I’m feeling too my friend!!
Oh my god! This music is so true to the bone!
Right on!
It really leaves one speechless. It cuts right to the soul.
Everyone will be applauding him and saying how great he was when he dies.
We still have him, he’s still with us. The whole World should be doing it now, let him know.
what great comment so true
Definately I post his music alot but hardly get a like misf of his material most modern and popular I say guess who wrote this people hate to think of Dylan as a genius of poetry and music They are so missing out of his brilliance.
Love these new uploads. Bob's songs from the 74 to 76 period might be my favourites.
Dave Cespedes Planet Waves, underrated album. Desire has some hidden GEMS. Black Diamond Bay?
+Walter Montiel dirge from the planet wave album is a phenomenal song both lyrically and vocally it's kind of a precursor to how raw and angry idiot wind was.
@@Theimbennn Dirge is so emotional and yeah Bob's voice is amazing. People that think that Bob can't sing can fuck off. Nobody has his style; for example Time Out Of Mind, Oh Mercy or Modern Times are just a few examples that Bob's voice is unique and wonderful. Nobody will ever sing like he did in Trying To Get To Heaven or When The Deal Goes Down. You got to love all his voice variations, almost every album is different, not only because of the lyrics but also because Bob sings differently. That's why you can enjoy Slow Train Coming, Nashville Skyline, World Gone Wrong or Tempest (:
@@waltermontiel4405 Desire is so fucking amazing. Actually it might be one of my favourite albums of Bob Dylan haha. I can't even choose between its songs; Sara and Hurricane are simple pure masterpieces but Black Diamond Bay and Romance in Durango are pure quality. And don't forget about Oh Sister, so emotional too. I love a live version that is available here in RUclips. Anyway haha, I could speak the whole day about Bob's music (:
Walter Montiel Black Diamond Bay is truly an underappreciated GEM. Classic Dylan in every way. The instrumental into & outro of harmonica & violin duet is bliss. Then the colorful story, characters, multi-layered meaning of the lyrics (heaven/hell, Vietnam) omg it may be a perfect song. And the rhyme scheme and Emmy Lou Harris singing harmony is icing on the cake. God help me I love Dylan.
In this song, he expresses the sorrows of life. This song that makes a person feel sad, especially in final portion by his harmonica melody......
"I'm going out of my mind, with a pain that stops and starts, Like a corkscrew to my heart" is exactly how I felt after breaking up with a girl I loved in 1989. Bob articulated how I felt like no other musician ever has.
1989, the best year of my life. We met in Thailand, lived in England, and broke up on a sad day in Tokyo. Bob was there the whole way. She left me there in tears, 28 years ago. Bob stayed with me through those tears. Now, she texts me sometimes, but Dylan remains a staple.
Feels like a punch in the gut every time i listen to it

My fave Dylan song. Much love.something about a song thats.so well written it brings you to tears every time you hear it.
Dylan sounds so vulnerable..kills it on every verse!
Besides this song being filled with straight from the heart pain, this video has some great still life photos. There is an especially nice photo near the end of video of Bob with his acoustic guitar slung over his shoulder and looking down at NYC. Our conversation was short and sweet
It nearly swept me off my feet
And I'm back in the rain, oh
And you are on dry land
You made it there somehow
You're a big girl now
Bird on the horizon, sittin' on a fence
He's singin' his song for me at his own expense
And I'm just like that bird, oh
Singin' just for you
I hope that you can hear
Hear me singin' through these tears
Time is a jet plane, it moves too fast
Oh, but what a shame if all we've shared can't last
I can change, I swear, oh
See what you can do
I can make it through
You can make it, too
Love is so simple, to quote a phrase
You've known it all the time, I'm learnin' it these days
Oh, I know where I can find you, oh
In somebody's room
It's a price I have to pay
You're a big girl all the way
A change in the weather is known to be extreme
But what's the sense of changing horses in midstream?
I'm going out of my mind, oh
With a pain that stops and starts
Like a corkscrew to my heart
Ever since we've been apart
Oh oh oh this song says so much. My heart 💜

So happy that this version is online.
I love Blood on The Tracks; it's probably my favorite Dylan album besides the 60s Electric Trilogy, but these alternate takes really put the album versions of every song released so far to shame. I really do wonder what thought process went into going with those iterations of the music when such (in my personal opinion) better takes exist.
I completely agree! These outtakes seem to have so much more emotion.
Agreed!
I respect the intimacy of this version however I prefer the album version. This is such a great song.
Apparently they were concerned that the first take of BOTT the songs seemed too alike, now known as the new york sessions, so they rerecorded at least five of the tracks in Minnesota before release
More possibilities in one Bob Dylan song than the whole career of other songwriters.
George Harrison stated something similar in an interview to Australia TV
Yes, he does sound like home.
Thank you so much to Bob Dylan and all others involved in the upload of this early version of a classic song, and its accompanying lyric video.
