Been doing this method for about 5 years! Honed it here in BC on Searun Cutthroat mainly, but also Browns and bows. Nothing is close to as effective as jigs, especially for cuttys and browns. Caught multiple 25" Searun Cutthroat in the 4lb - 7lb weight class depending on build, on hair jigs & tiny soft plastics. When I first stumbled onto jigs for trout I was just as surprised as Jordan that they worked. Now all my pbs are on jigs. Searun Cutthroat specifically, I never would have imagined could get up to 25". Yet I've had a good few days where iv caught more than one over 20". Works just about as good on browns. The main hurdle with jigs is if you fish lakes, target the drop offs primarily in the 5 - 15 foot depths. Ideally near river inflows/outflows of that lake, always the best place to start. You generally dont want to be fishing deep, open and featureless water with jigs. Rivers are far more forgiving ofcourse.
I'm 3 yrs into fishing. Mostly gear fish. I want to get into jigging but I can't get myself to do it cuz I feel like I'd spend even more on tackle with the amount I'd lose lol. Also don't want to leave gear in the river. In time I'll give it a try more.
It fried my brain yesterday when I met you and Marlin and Shawn at my work there was so much I wish I would have said! For the rest of the day I was kicking myself in the ass for it. 1) Jordan did you bring little? I wanted to meet little so badly lol luv that little dude. 2) Also to Jordan have you heard of Succer Creek its on the back Road going back towards Vale Oregon and at the camp ground you can chisel Thunder eggs off the walls. Also there is another rock hounding spot to find Petrified wood close to here. 3) Marlin your story about why addicted fishing is what it is inspires me because Ive gone threw similar things being raise in Salem Oregon. 4) My husband and I have some great secret spots no one has permission to except for us and the owners for some great Catfishing if you guys are ever interested to catching something new. ❤ Walmart Girl 🎉 like literally yesterday was the coolest day ever I was so shocked you guys really are the coolest! And I love Stay Fishy! If I ever get the chance to meet you all again If love to actually speak with you guys more! Amazing dudes so freakin cool!
I started fishing small D2 jigs on a tiny stocked trout stream in PA this spring. Incredible how well maribou jigs worked on a stream you could almost jump across.
seeing your videos honestly make my day Jordan! I get asked all of the time what hat I'm wearing and who it is signed by and i always tell them about how I met you guys in Puyallup WA and how it is signed by you and Cameron
Love seeing this approach and being open to new things, I grew up surfing and this reminds me when it became so fun to ride all different types of boards, I’m up on whidbey and we have tons of sculpin in the saltwater here, I haven’t even thought about trying this off the beach but I’d bet it would work!! (Everyone uses the pink rotator and buzz bombs here because they’re so effective) but I bet an olive sculpin pattern would smash off some of our beaches!! Thanks for the ideas Jordan, stay fishy
Addicted and Jordan, I always love the tutorial videos. Jordan is the man to do that. Great video. I had an observation when wearing clothing to blend in with your environment, I believe that includes hats as well. The white Addicted hat seemed really bright. Lol.
Will you please share your purpose of using light gear of 2# to 6# rod but heavy braid and fluorocarbon line? I understand about being ready for big fish (4# -7#) yet, what about the drag being set??? Thank you for sharing/teaching. Much love
Best rod I have ever purchased is my 6'6 8-15lb 2peice okuma dead eye pro I take it everywhere even coho twitched sometimes for funsies thank you okuma 🤘
Jordan, @ 3:23 you talk about braid vs mono. Well, 20lb test Power Pro braided fishing line at a diameter of 009” is equivalent to 6lb mono at the same diameter. I love braid!
I'm new to trout fishing, I used 1/32oz jig head few days ago in the river, but the jig got carried away by the current, I'm wondering what's the approximate jig head weight to use in rivers? Thanks!
I want the guide select swimbait rod xxxh 7'11". Double footed guides to the end with a crazy low price. My next big swimbait rod. Would love to hold one to see the tip weight but with the reels id use it'd probably balance out perfect. Gonna find out reguardless. Super high end stuff under $200. Thsts crazy for a rod that'll throw my 250s and other big soft plastic or glide baits and the dobyns 806 barely lobs them. Not close to the 8 oz they claim. Closer to 4 or 5.

Glad to see the good ole jig fisherman make a comeback!

I’ve been fishing a lot more alpine waters that are usually barbless artificial single hooks so this came in at the perfect time! Thanks Jordan! 🤙🏼🔥🎣

Might I suggest you sell a Custom Knigge Box set of jigs like you have in the video? Change it up once a month similar to what Mystery Tackle do?

I’m definitely trying that. It makes way more sense then sitting around waiting for your worm or powerbait to get bit. Jigging 100%
Glad to see the gear info section of this video. It's been needed for a long time
I've said it once, I've said it twice, hell... I'll say it again.... ADDICTED to ADDICTED FISHING 🙌👌🤠
We appreciate your excellent communication skills and attention to details.
I just caught my first trout jigging on the south fork of the snake river a couple of weeks ago. Lots of fun.

My favorite bumper knot is the fg knot it, it has a very slim profile and slips through the guides effortlessly.
Hahahaha, "Just like Dory." very funny
At about 3:40 i thought a little blackbear was walking by turned out to be your dog 😂
Dude this is awesome stuff super helpful thank you for awesome content

That dog in the begging made me think it was damn bear in the background 😭
Ever twitched jigs on a fly rod?

All it takes is that one fish to make a bad day into thee only day
Promo SM
White sweatshirt lol
Nothing feels worse than snagging a nice jig in the middle of the river. Makes me so irritated and like a bad fisherman too
Ultra light rod and he says a small reel while using a 3000 size real!!? Hahahaha
Sorry to be that guy, but sculpin and bull heads or two completely different fish.
Tired of jigs!!!
time to try at klineline
