A voice like butter, a smile like the sun, and I love the way he doesn't rush his words. The "duet" his daughter, Natalie, did on this song after his death is beautiful.
Dear Sarah, I'm so glad you have discovered Nat King Cole. His repertoire of songs would be wonderful for you to explore. The incredible thing about Nat is that, before he became a singer, he was a world class jazz pianist. You should check out that too.
His daughter is Natalie Cole, an incredible singer in her own right. She sang this song as a duet with her father using video. It's very good. Give it and her a listen. And, I must agree with the other commenters, NKC has a huge collection of songs, and his voice is one of the greatest ever. BTW, since it's the Christmas season, you should listen to his song, 'The Christmas Song', is one of the greatest holiday classics. Love your reactions. They are some of the more heartfelt and genuine I've seen - and I've watched thousands.
When Growing up this is the music that was played in the evening before us kids went to bed. Dad put the albums on the vinyl record player. We all listened to Nat and many more classics like Gershwin. As kids, we learned to enjoy the older music. As well as Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Inspots, and other artists. When I grew older I looked back and thought "How wonderful our time together was". Unforgettable for sure.
My kids should hear this, and others like Nat. My daughter listens to (ugh) "country," My son and daughter-in-law, I'm not sure of their tastes...but she gives me light-hearted guff about my "old music." I don't think any of them have an idea what romantic music is, or was.
@@johntiggleman4686 I think classical, romantic, and Opera music stimulates brain neuron activity improving young children's IQ. How many parents do it. Look at the world. What's changed in the last 60 years.
Nat King Cole was such a legend. Love his smooth silky voice. He was an American singer, jazz pianist & actor. He recorded over 100 songs that became hits on the pop charts. He is best known for "Mona Lisa" & "Unforgettable" but he had so many great hits such as "Smile", "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66", "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons", "There! I've Said It Again", "Nature Boy", "Ramblin' Rose", "Autumn Leaves", "The Very Thought Of You", "Those Lazy-Hazy-Crazy Days Of Summer" etc.
I immediately thought of his daughter, Natalie Cole and a remix where she appears to sing with her father. Your wonderful comments are what draws me to this listening, though. 😊
His voice was straight from Heaven. He is one of my all-time greatest singers alongside Jim Reeves, Roy Orbison, and Freddie Mercury. You're lucky to experience all these songs for the first time. Enjoy! 🙏🏻❤️🎵🎶
My favorite singet of all time. Yes Sarah youreally needs to hear his albums, with their rich orchestrations. I'd be hard pressed to think that you haven't heard Nat's 1961, recording of "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire/ Merry Christmas To You) . It's an annual holiday favorite, known worldwide, and that's just scratching the surface of Nat King Cole's stellar career repertoire. His piano skills were phenomenal long before the Errol Garner, and Oscar Peterson respectively. Nat actually had two careers. He was a jazz pianist with the Nat King Cole Trio, before he became a solo ballad singer. He is also the father of singer, Natalie Cole. He also acted in movirs, one of which was " St. Louis Blues". He's also featured in a couple of movie documentaries, one of which is "Yhe Eorld of Nat King Cole". You should read his biography, " Nat King Cole" by Daniel Mark Epstein.. Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Sara, this is a song that my parents fell in love with. That was many years ago, of course well before I was born. I'm 68 now and I appreciate this song!
Sarah he was one of my favorite singers. His voice was amazing and so unique. I love his relaxed way of singing and making you feel the song. Thanks for reacting to one of the greats of all time.
I can tell you feel about Nat like I do. I first saw him on TV in the early 60's as a young girl. Fell in love with him right there. He made me feel so happy and safe. Love his smile and the twinkle in his eyes,it was a sad day when I heard he died.
Sarah, now you need to listen to Nat's daughter, Natalie Cole, since the same song. Find the live version where they put her father up on the big screen behind her. It is magical. She's singing to her dad, who by this time, had been gone for 25 years or so. It's sure to get you in the feels. And if you want to do another Nat King Cole song, chedk out "L-O-V-E." Just wonderful.
Unforgettable is one of his biggest hits, another is Stardust and is worth checking out. Mona Lisa is another huge hit and Sweet Lorraine, Route 66, Straighten Up & Fly Right and on and on and on. His catalog is deep & wide. 🥰
I will forever be grateful that my mother filled our house with music from Smokey Robinson, Pavoratti, Chet Atkins, Stevie Wonder, and Nat King Cole. All hail the King.
Sarah I heard you when you listen to Roy Clark do Folsom prison blues . You have to hear him do 12th street rag . You will not be disappointed 👍👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏

And "Orange Colored Sky."
It's hard to believe that Sarah has never heard one of the most beautiful voices that has ever graced this earth.
My mother had many of his records so as a little girl I grew up listening to this incredible man!!

Silk and velvet! Could watch over and over.😅
And that looked like an old TV show, no dubbing, no electronics. Nothing but a man with a smoooth voice.
Just as the song title says, Nat King Cole is Unforgettable. No one can touch this man

You should check out his daughters, Natalie Cole, cover of his song. She does a duet with the recording of her father.
I haven’t heard him in years-still wonderful ‼️ several people mentioned it but his daughter Natalie is great too!
If you had not heard NKC sing Stardust, check it out. It is very moving.
Also, "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes."
Incredible.
Absolutely, the orchestra arrangement is nothing short of gorgeous and superior.
Unforgettable is one of his biggest hits, another is Stardust and is worth checking out. Mona Lisa is another huge hit and Sweet Lorraine, Route 66, Straighten Up & Fly Right and on and on and on. His catalog is deep & wide. 🥰
I met his daughter, the late Natalie Cole, when she was singing in Regina, Saskatchewan years agp.
I will forever be grateful that my mother filled our house with music from Smokey Robinson, Pavoratti, Chet Atkins, Stevie Wonder, and Nat King Cole. All hail the King.
Ah, love his voice and love this song. His voice is so smooth and soothing. Glad you got to enjoy it. ❤
Takes me back to my childhood...he is unforgettable...thanks for sharing❤
........he has one of the smoothest voices ever.......
He was only 45 when he passed away in 1965. Such a wonderful song.
It is holiday season, and Nat Kong Cole's version of "The Christmas Song" is considered the best version. Give it a listen!
Look at you smiling beautifully through the whole song❤😂
I grew up listening to this song. So incredibly beautiful. Please watch the video of Natalie Cole and him singing this!! ❤
They did it using a hologram of her dad. So cool.
Romantic song that we females from 8 to 80 loved.
The song, in later years, was released by his daughter Natalie? With her voice dubbed in with his… it’s everything!! Highly recommend!!!
Nat King Cole is the goat in his generation
Nat Cole is the greatest male singer there has ever been.

Great reaction! React falling in reverse I'm not a vampire revamped
You're so pretty. It was fun watching you experience this for the first time.
Have you heard Chestnuts Roasting on an open Fire by him. Great Xmas song.
One of the great "romantic" singers. Another is Johnny Mathis. Especially "Misty."
Years later using video his daughter did kind of duet of this song with him. That was good as well - ruclips.net/video/CCX1xUdMsNs/видео.html
Suggestion: Natalie Cole (his daughter) with This Will Be
