Sadly, Natalie is now with her Daddy again. They’re both gone. Two legends. RIP
She passed away? Omg I didn't know!
Nat was the first black to have his on tv show. She sang with her dad through technology. Smooth
The way she was looking up at her dad on screen made me cry
RIP to two unforgettable artists! ♡
That’s his daughter. He passed when she was young. Both incredible artist. Both gone too soon
Love this
They were both unforgettable!
Frank Sinatra said that Nat King Cole was the most brilliant stylist who has ever lived.
He was right!!!
Frank Sinatra was not in the habit of giving out compliments, so getting a compliment from the Chairman of the Boatd was a rarity.
Nat King Cole had such an amazing, crystal clear, quintessential perfect voice
Nat had one of the best voices in town. And his emotion singing was amazing.
Yes, I don't think his daughter was in his class, tbh not many people are. He was like a top 3 all-time Jazz artists.
Nat King Cole's voice is unforgettable for me, my favorite vocalist.
Originally, "Unforgettable" was sung as a love song by Nat King Cole in 1952. His daughter, Natalie, who was 15 when her father died in 1965, released it as a duet with her dad's previously recorded vocals in 1991 when she was 41. And it became a touching tribute representing the love between a parent and child. You may have heard Natalie's big solo R&B/pop hit from 1975 (when she was 25) called "This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)," either on TV commercials or maybe when you were a child with your grandparents.
Seeing this reminds me of how I cried when this was first televised...seeing Natalie sing to her departed father
Bless you India. Makes me smile that you didn't know Nat King Cole and played this anyway. This song revived Natalie's (Nat's daughter) career in the 1990s. After struggling on tour for many years, she got the idea to do this album with vocals by her late father and this was the signature song. I believe it won a whole bunch of Grammys and afterwards got her huge audiences like the one shown here. Nat King Cole was so revered by my generation and my parents' generation as well. The day Natalie died I cried like a baby remembering the beauty of them both. You get 10,000 bonus subscriber points for that one.
"Are they related?"
Yes, they're father and daughter
This was a posthumous duet between Natalie and her Father Nat
Yes, father and daughter. Always brings tears to my eyes.
Even thought he passed away tecnhology managed to have them sing together, now they are together again. RIP
Nat "King" Cole was famous in the early 50's, and even had his own television show, back then. Natalie Cole, was his daughter , who came to her own fame, in the early 70's. Both, were multi-talented and revered, by many!!! Nice Choice!!
Nat was one of the biggest artist of his time and was the first Africa America man to have his own TV show, but since the racism of the times not many tv stations wanted to air his show even if he was the best.
Natalie was his daughter. Nat died a week after her 15th birthday. She was at boarding school when she found out.
Natalie started singing in the 70's and you should react to her music. Mr. Melody, Can We Get Together Again, and other. She also went thought a bad time with drugs which led to her health problem later in her life.
In the 90's she made a Jazz album as a tribute to Nat's music.
Also want to add that Nat King Cole was pure class.
When Nathalie started her singing career, lots of the places that she was initially booked in expected her to cover her father, but her music was disco, which was the music of the time. She became successful on her own, but got dragged down with the substance abuse common in that era. She cleaned herself up by the late 80s, and after performing some with her music, she reached out to some of the folks that had performed with her father. They backed her in the full album of her covering her father’s songs, but this was the one that she made most faithful, changing it from a song of a man to the one he loves to them singing their love to each other.
I grew up with Nat King Cole as part of the music I heard and have a few separate renditions of his version over the years. When I first saw the official video, which has here with a picture album in a dark room, I broke out crying. 30 years after this came out, I still cry. It is not easy to find the official video, but I recommend it as the love they share is obvious throughout.
Nathalie did more of her own music, successfully, but she came back with a second album of more of his songs and one of his Christmas songs along the way. Still, this was probably her most successful album because of the obvious love.
Bless you, sweetie! This is one of the most touching performances ever. It always makes me cry. Natalie was only 8 when her father died...and this virtual duet was the perfect thing for her to do later in life...much later. (BTW - his stage name (real name, too?) was Nat (pronounced like "gnat", the small pesky fly), not Nate.) Nat King Cole was the smoothest male voice of the entire 20th century...maybe of all time.
Natalie was born in 1950 and her father died in1965. So she was 15 years old.
@@battlegirldeb Thanks, you're exactly right! (That's what happens when I rely on memory only.) Pictures I've seen of Natalie and her dad were taken when she was younger.
The only one that came close to him is Johnny Mathias
@@joannharden8867 Brook Benton?
There's only a few I'll listen to like this - Nat, Natalie, Johnny Mathis and Harry Connick jr
Their duet WHEN I FALL IN LOVE is so heavenly 😭👌🏾
This made me cry
Both Father and Daughter had exquisite vocal ability. Listen to the tone, the timbre, the phrasing, the expression. Absolutely beautiful.
I was madly in love with Natalie, and many years ago, in love with her dads voice, so soft and gentle, so smooth and silky, a great man, and singer, sadly missed, the both of them.
Nat King Cole was a legend. He was before my time, but I loved to hear his songs. it seemed to me that he was one of the very few black artists who was part of mainstream because his smooth, articulate, and velvety voice. I strongly recommend that you listen to "Mona Lisa" which is one of his hallmark songs.
Nate King Cole was one of the greatest artists of the 1950s and 1960s. His daughter was unbelievably talented and beautiful. She always wanted to sing with her father. For it's time, her effort on this performance was radically new, that is, singing with someone who had been dead for decades. Amazing.
Yes, and Yes. Am so glad that the younger generation, is open, and is willing to hear the greats, and love them as much as we. The greats never are forgotten, but are their to hear to a new and younger generation, whose hearts now are a part of their unforgotten, as we and the generations prior, are all part of one heart. Thank you for passing this down to yours and the next generation to come.
I love 1950's nostalgia music 🎶❤️
They are both unforgettable...love love them both!!💓
NAT KING COLE,certainly one of the greatest singers EVER,the sincerity in His voice is incredible.
Nat and his daughter Natalie … like Elvis and his daughter Lisa singing to both fathers dead but doing a tribute to their dads.
Let's not forget Hank Williams Sr. Jr. & III
@@RussellStClair-cy1vu I was comparing daughters. Did Hank Jr. do a video was his dad too?
@@Coolrockndad sure did all 3 Hanks
@@Coolrockndad Roy Orbison's sons also did a song like that a few years ago.
@@philipmay3548 I did not know that. TY for that info.
Nat and Natalie. Daddy and daughter. Such a lovely and touching tribute.
One of my college friends was in the stage crew for Natalie Cole. He traveled all over including Japan and Europe. He said she was very nice to the crew. RIP to both Natalie and Nate. This is the song I will always remember for both of them. My first Nate King Cole song was L is for the way you Look at me..... A classy entertainer and way before his time.
Oh how this song and Nat King Cole remind me of my parents. I grew up with his music. We played this song at my moms home going. Still brings tears to my eyes.
Boys and Girls, that is awesomeness. Nate and Natalie...thank you. Our lives are better cause you lived. Lots of love. RIP
Another beautiful song by Nat 'King' Cole was: ANSWER ME MY LOVE! This one of kind artist was a true legend of the 50's!
Nate King Cole was a successful jazz pianist and vocalist long before Natalie was born. This recording is a testament to their talent and love for each other. Thanks!
Daughter, unfortunately deceased too. U need more Nat!!! Studio versions!!!
Brought tears to my eyes. So beautiful. 😢
I feel so chilled right now.
Ohh God I love Nat King Cole since my 10 years old. Now I have 29.
Cheers from Chile 🇨🇱
The really special thing about this is that this was the original arrangement that her daddy recorded this song to. It was a big hit song for him, and it's awesome that they were able to make this happen so Natalie was able to sing with her dad.
That style of music was soo beautiful. Such class and soo romantic. That is so missed today. And oddly it almost sounds like Christmas Music.
WTF!!!! Honestly How Many Cried ? I was in tears by the title . Being the same age as Natalie would have been , I grew up listening to her Dad , Nate . Just to hear the two together doing one of his all time hits it really is Unforgettable .
You're right - she is his daughter. I tear up every time I hear it. I adored my Dad too :)
Beautiful. The CD Unforgettable will get you through tough times.
A Masterpiece.
Snappy dressers, snappy singers, wonderful family and sadly missed....
We will meet again!
Nat King Cole and his daughter used to sing together at house parties with Nat playing the piano. One of my all-time favorite songs, solo or duet!
Two LEGENDS, wish we could of seen them sing for real together. Father and Daughter.
Nat King Cole had one of the most beautiful voices of all time. What a crooner.
I could listen to Nat all day everyday.
I am an old white woman ,but I remember listening to Nat King Cole on his television show( back in the Dark Ages,) I always loved his voice, it was so mellow and rich, and he was a nice man. Very sad when he passed. Still love to hear his songs.
You just don't hear this kind of talent anymore. Father and Daughter. 💜
Natalie was so talented jist like her Dad and there voices harmonized so well together.
So emotional. Father and daughter together 😓😓❤️❤️
That's what you call class pure class
I'm watching a girl watching another girl 28 years ago singing with her dad 40 years earlier.
@Matthew Macdonald NKC recorded that in 1952. His daughter performed this in 1991.
I used to watch Nat's television show. Smooth, silky voice and his daughter is classy. Oh, and nice back up band. Thumbs up!
Worth the tears of sadness coupled with joy...
He had the most intensely beautiful and soothing voice I've ever heard...He simply had the most beautiful voice that there's ever been!!!
Beautiful memory of father and daughter and the love between them. My own daddy sang this to me as a child. Special place in my heart.
Nat King Cole's voice has been described as "velvet". So true! Soft, warm, sensuous... what a legend!
Nate King Cole and Natalie are father and daughter. Technology gave her the desire of her heart! Praise God! How wonderful!
The Flower 🌹
I grew up on Nat King Cole. Loved Natalie too.
Just saw this video this morning and thought this would be a great reaction. Thank you!. Great father/daughter tribute
Always a tear jerker for me! She was a kid about 13 when he died!
This is beautiful. There talents were amazing. This is when music was really pretty
Love ❤️ this song always makes me cry so beautiful
That man had a voice smooth as butter. My goodness them together was glorious. That was dubbed cuz of the years in between. Her doing "I'm Catching Hell" ... Omg it's so badass
What a Special and Dreamy production.
I love this version. It's impossible to tell which is better.
Great singers I grew up to this my parents all the time back in the day, intermixed with Sinatra.
Nat "King" Cole: One of the smoothest voices of all time!
Maybe I'm feeling sensitive today, but this made me tear up. :(
May I suggest, "Mona Lisa" by Nat King Cole, and
"This Will Be" by Natalie Cole.
Jan CW yep. Me too, for a lot of reasons.
Have a listen to yellow colored sky.
I remember when this duet came out I thought how amazing it was that they could bring her daddy in on this just like they were singing together. I grew up with this song. My parents listened to Nat King Cole
What a beautiful duet.❤️.
I saw her concert when she was promoting this album. It was the last thing she sang, thank God because we were all in tears. They showed the home video like they do here
She definitely got her talents from her dad. He was the epitome of class and elegance. She was so special too. Both singing with the Angels now!!!
Ahh, so lovely. Great sax ❤️
I'm in tears! Nat's 1st release of this song was in 1951! Then his talented daughter released this with a ground breaking stylistic video in the 80's. They are both in Heaven now but what wonderful music they have left for us~ thnx India~
Nat King Cole was a superstar in his day. His records were on the jukeboxes everywhere. When this song came out in 1952, my high school sweetheart and I adopted it as "our song." He really was unforgettable, and hearing the song still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling, even after all these years.
Oh my!!!!! I've never seen or heard this beautiful duet before! It definitely brings a bittersweet emotion along with it! ❤️
This brings me to happy tears
Natalie Cole had hits too! "Our Love"...
Class, honor and respect.
Natalie Cole Was Beautiful. She was his daughter and she looks just like him and inherited his beautiful singing gift.
I've NEVER heard someone say the Nat King Cole did a good job. His voice is the purest velvet voice in history.
Nat has one of the smoothest voices ever ! I am a Head Banger at heart but Nat is one of my fav vocallist, cos you gotta respect quallity !
Metal lerv from down under \m/ \m/
Thank you for this. I grew up listening to Natalie Cole. She was a very sophisticated and talented artist. Check out some of her early R&B hits from the 70’s. Natalie was a 9 time Grammy award winning artist.
I grew up listening to Nat King Cole. He was one of my favorites. Loved Natalie Cole when she started performing, but it wasn't until she first did this video/duet with her dad that she really came into her own. Love to both of them and their huge talents. Thank you for doing this one!
Pure class. I miss this era. Thank you, India, for keeping it alive....
OMG. Such a handsome man. Truly a romantic portrayal of that era. Natalie named after her Father did this after he passed.
Really Love Nat King Cole. 💙
So glad you did this. This was an amazing duet, here and gone, Thank you.
Natalie Cole... This will be
Natalie did a whole album of his songs. She died early like he did sadly.
Thanks for posting this review of Royalty!!!
He had so many hits. I think my favorite is Mona Lisa.
The Genius of Love and music intertwined it doesn't get any better 40's-50's timeline timeless sound
Damn. D.J. for a new century. ON POINT!!! SHE IS IT!!! SIGN UP. I am so happy!!! Peace. Work too much. Sad. Brought me up!!! Thank You!!! Hit that bell!!! Do the right thing. 😘
This was a very popular song for bride and father dance when it came out.
