The Cover girl liquid makeup was my first foundation that I used in the 80's. I believe the formula has been changed because it had the noxzema fresh smell and tingle feeling.
I heard they've reformulated it so the Noxema scent is removed. CG Invisible Foundation. I really want to try it. I've been using it on & off since the mid 90s 😀😁
Hi Laura, Some of the perfumes I remember from the 60's were "Skinny Dip", "Oh De London" by Yardley, Love's "Lemon", and Love's "Baby Soft" "Moon Drops" by Revlon,"Norell",and" Imprevu" by Coty.
Hi there...my mom here in Canada in the '60s used Dove beauty (in pink or white), Ponds and Oil of Olay. Going back to your "70s video, in Canada I used as a teen Ten-O-Six.
Oh yes, I was a Breck girl lol I also loved body on tap, milk +6, the Vidal Sassoon hair system flex, Gee your hair smells terrific, Lemmon up, fabrege’, clairol, herbal essence shampoo you know the lady with the flowers in her hair 😂 gosh is so many many more I had three sisters, and everyone had their favorite shampoos. 👍
For several years I took care of an elderly woman that had the softest skin ever! She told me one day that she only used Dove soap. That was all she used since it first came out. 💕🥰
Beautiful ✨I love All these products especially Ponds & Max Factor I was raised with these products and to me there still Awesome this very day I use these products with my own children & scared to use any other products am so conditioned to these & they work Perfectly Thank You for these Awesome videos I Love the History & Detail that you put with these videos Beautifully done.🌟💫⭐️✨
Ambush by Dana, Menley & James Eau de Love cologne, Chantilly, so many, Christmas in July also. Little bottles of Blue Waltz & Evening in Paris sold for 20 cents each.
I just ordered Ponds for sensitive skin from Amazon. I've tried so many moisturizers and they add so much to them like sunscreen and hyaluronic acid that irritate my skin. Thank you for doing these.
As always love your videos laura jane. Ive watched so many but these videos really caught my attention , your voice is very nice , and the information and products are fully provided although im too young to have tried some of these I've been using nivea ever since i was a kid it works perfectly for my dry skin , and ponds scent will always give me nostalgia. Olay was very popular with people from asia as well.
I love all the items of the early eras. Is ut possible you could do a video of the fancy up-do's of the 1960's . Thank you I love to watch all of your videos , I can also admire your vintage decor, beautiful. ❤❤❤❤❤
Actually, Revlon should bring back their touch and glow line. I remember it smelled so good too and it went on really well. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll get any of the old fragrances or formulas back. Also revlon had a very good blush line so did max factor. I remember it was a huge deal to use the Helena Rubenstein’s skinny mascara wand. She had beautiful packaging. I remember cover girl nail slicks. I always thought they had such pretty colors. I don’t know why these drugstore brands don’t bring back retro lines. I think it would sell very very well.
my mother used for hair spray a tube called lacca if this stuff was sold today they would be minted her hair would be glued till she brushed it out to apply rollers for bed and I can clearly remember herbal essance shampoo my mother used it and when I was old enough she would wash my hair with it I love the smells of them xx
My mother always had a bottle of Sea Breeze when I was growing up. I don’t think she used it on her face, since it is indeed very drying, but I can remember her putting it on some cotton pads and using that to clean behind my ears when I wasn’t supposed to get any water in them.
I collect adverts from many decades! Oh my the prices for the fragrances around the fifteen and a half min mark! They have quadrupled since then!! I sell fragrances and we still carry Youth Dew! It smells very very dated and intense! Yet I imagine it was innovative at the time! Great videos! I lived in the US most of my life but now live in the UK. Its interesting to see what brands are still around here and what is available vs the US. New sub! Love your content!
I'm only 40 but I can still smell the noxzema and the sea breeze and your friends like "the more it burns the more it's working!!" Maybe this is why Gen X and millennials are not aging because we were giving ourselves mini chemical peels on the daily 🤷♀️and the 'skin is so soft' from Avon, can still smell it 😊 I still love me a pink Dove bar💖 they still make the og oil of Olay moisturizer ive been using it for 20+ years now and I swear by it..✨💖✌️
❤🎉😢 I still yearn for the Yardley Pot o Gloss in Lilac.. the color, the scent, the application... It was our ritual and I can still remember that little pot and all the fun of dipping your ring finger and depositing just the right amount on your impatient lips ... I wish they still made this iconic lip gloss.. 😢❤️👄
As a graphic designer that specializes in packaging this was a Dream! Thank you! Also would love to see what other countries were developing during this era. How Korean skin care is is in demand now in western markets what were the products back then like?
I love the old packaging of products 😍
Me too!
Me too 😍
Definitely
Me too!!
The Cover girl liquid makeup was my first foundation that I used in the 80's. I believe the formula has been changed because it had the noxzema fresh smell and tingle feeling.
I soooo remember the noxzema smell in cover girl foundation from the late 90's as well!
I heard they've reformulated it so the Noxema scent is removed. CG Invisible Foundation. I really want to try it. I've been using it on & off since the mid 90s 😀😁
*Cover-Girl Clean Invisible Foundation* meant to say
Hi Laura, Some of the perfumes I remember from the 60's were "Skinny Dip", "Oh De London" by Yardley, Love's "Lemon", and Love's "Baby Soft" "Moon Drops" by Revlon,"Norell",and" Imprevu" by Coty.
My favorite was Desert Rose by Cody.
We loved the Loves brand scents as teenagers in the 70s. Oh de London , Lair de Temps and cottage Ambush and ofcourse Charly.
My favorite was Norrell, I wish they still made it , I recently bought another bottle of Charlie and wear it alot .
@@buffy2875 They reissued Norelle, but they changed the formula. It smells nothing like the original.
I like the glass bottles of lotion and looking at the old tin cans like the Nivea .
I love ur vintage musical doll on ur bedside drawer. That brings back memories ❤
Thank you!!
Came here to say the same and to ask where one can purchase these dolls or a replica of them.
Hi there...my mom here in Canada in the '60s used Dove beauty (in pink or white), Ponds and Oil of Olay. Going back to your "70s video, in Canada I used as a teen Ten-O-Six.

The 8 hour cream is wonderful on the lips
I started using the Pond’s cold cream about 6 months ago. It’s a fantastic makeup remover!
Sea breeze was big in the 90's as well, I used it all through my teenage years!
I really miss the beautiful and groovy Yardley products. I wish they would bring them back!
I remember my mother applied Oil of Olay to her face, and it had such a lovely scent when I hugged her. Thanks for the memories Laura. 💕
I remember my mum applying it - except it was called ‘Oil of Ulay’ back then…
Thank you for this wonderful video of old school products. I wish they still came in all those pretty containers.
That cat pillow is just so awesome 😊 and so are your videos ❤

I really like the Palmolive soap. I just used it. Dollar tree has it.
I wish they made products in fancy bottles and jars like the oil of Olay that is in a beautiful glass bottle.
I love the design of the products back then. To me, they were unique and glamorous. Products these days have such boring designs
This was just fascinating to watch.
Thanks so much

Mary Quant
Everyone it seems had beautiful skin. Maybe less is more rather than putting all those chemicals on your skin or using those torture machines.
