For Play it is hard with Icelandair operating daily in winter and up to double daily in summer from Toronto and that's not far from Hamilton. Plus connectivity at Hamilton is very low, so it is a challenge.
The government airport fees in Canada really need to be lower since the operating costs across the country/major cities are so high. Transport Canada doesn’t like to like to have change within transportation industry, they need to wake up and have better competition. Canada has so much potential to see new airlines enter the country which drives competition
Canada has a different approach from some other countries. Many governments charge low fees (security, passenger taxes, fuel taxes, etc.) because they recognize the importance of air transportation to the wider economy. By contrast, Canada has more of a "user pay" model--the idea being that taxpayers should not subsidize those who use air transport but rather that the latter should pay more of the cost for the service they use.
The A330 NEO is a smart move from Airbus. The break-even point is quite low. Maybe already reached. Compared to the giant cost of the B787 program. Despite very high sales. In this future order, the A320 played a pivotal role in the final choice. Airlines are eager to keep the training programs as short as possible. Airbus has an edge on Boeing because of its deep commonality of their planes....except for the A220.
Probably put a Swoop plane on the run with an extra 15 seats in them like they do on the Vegas run always advertising West Jet put you get a Swoop plane
for those of us in Canada who saw the news about Play, sure enough there's that wiseguy Gabby Lucky spewing more of his crap. I want to see him run an airline since he talks like he has ALL the answers.... Why do the news shows here give him the airtime? I'm sure the extra regulations he's demanding will make more airlines leave. News shows should interview DJ instead :-)
DJ is certainly very critical of Boeing and gives an enormous amount of time reporting Boeing’s woes. He is NOT favoring Boeing in any way. In fact, there hasn’t been much good news about Boeing in the last few years and Airbus is mostly good news. For DJ’s sake, give him a break. Also, thanks for the WestJet news.

Well said!
I'm surprised Alaska airlines is doing the Toronto to Seattle route with Toronto's high airport fees

I wonder if Play might have have subsidies for that service that ended.
The A330 NEO is an awesome aircraft. Passenger rightly love the seating arrangement.
787>
Westjet needs to start doing something right, anything. Right now it is a joke of an airline.
@@Meowser186 I had know idea. Thanks.

Airbus cry fan
@prasenjittripura4691 no kidding....tell me more about it...with smart explanation if you are able to
What a stunning aircraft, beautiful lines
As a result, flyadeal could be the second airline in Saudia Arabia after flynas to order, receive, and operate the Airbus A330neo.
More good news for Airbus and the a330
YYC to MEX. Thanks, WestJet. It's about time! Hopefully, we will see YYC to GDL next in the near future, too.

@ronparrish6666
"Swoop" doesn't exist anymore!
Thanks Dj!!
Great Video And Info
A330 neo looks more beautiful than my favorite A350 😍
Agree the 350-1000 is a nice looking aeroplane, but the 340-600 can give it a run for its money on looks despite being an olden. :)
Will Westjet fly Toronto direct to Mazatlan instead of going through Calgary?
Westjet cut so many routes out of central and eastern Canada I doubt they'll expand much out any anbywhere that isn't, well, West
West Jet just started running all there Toronto to Las Vegas flights thru Calgary because Porter put so many flights on that route
WestJet putting 5 flights a week to Mexico City but not a single flight between St. John’s and Toronto from October 2024 to late April 2025.
What is the market for cold-season travel to a place that ranks 20th among Canadian metros? NL folks seem to have an inflated sense of importance.
@ Actually their flights were running full when they had 5 day a week service.
