Couple things after watching this video then going to excellence.
1) property is amazing
2) service is great
3) property is quiet and peaceful
4) food was moderate but nothing like in the video
5) ocean was to ruff to swim in
6) personal plunge pool has no heater so if your pool does not catch sun its uncomfortably cold
7) excellence club is worth it. Extra bar and restaurant are great.
8) included transportation to/from airport was great in your personal black Tahoe
9) pools are large and several to pick from
10) sadly most people don’t tip?!? The service is great and friendly. Give these workers some tips.

@GirlLovesHemp we went to Ecxellence Punta Cana in May and Excellence El Carmen the prior September. Both were nice, but I prefer El Carmen because of the more modern look. They are close to each other. I've been to the locations in Jamaica, and as Playa Mujeres as well.

@@nicooliver6019 we went to EEC because they were doing EPC over. (They switched us) it just wasn’t what we preferred. We love playing volleyball every day. They have a nice main pool and two club pools. The Excellence Club is great! We have breakfast most days on the club patio overlooking the ocean. EPC just has a wonderful vibe. We are going for our 50th anniversary in August and again in December. We have been going in December for the last 12 years.

This does look amazing and I like how you compared it to Majestic Mirage. We stayed at Mirage in March and had an amazing time. There were fun parties and the food was amazing! I’m looking for a new place for next year and this one is a top choice if we don’t go to Majestic Mirage again. Thanks for the great reviews!

I stayed in the Excellence El Carmen in 2019. It was one of my favorite ALL inclusive resorts hands down. Excellence Collection is the way to go ! My friend stayed in this hotel and loved it as well.

Thank you again for these vids! I am going to Secrets Cap Cana and decided to resort hop from there to Excellence Punta Cana. I always get a bit nervous trying out a new place but it looks great.
My wife and I have been undecided on a resort for a month or so now. We’ve only ever been to one other all inclusive and that was majestic elegance 6 years ago. This video popped up on my feed and we booked excellence right away! It was on our top 5 list we came up with - we’re going for 5 nights in January and we can’t wait!!

I've only been to one Excellence hotel, the "Excellence Playa Mujeres" and it was absolutely outstanding...clearly, Excellence is a great brand.
We have been to both EPC and EEC in D.R. and EPM and ERC in Mexico. We love all of them. Each is unique . Can’t go wrong with an Excellence Resort. Went to EPM in May and are booked to go to ERC in August and EPC in December.

We enjoy your videos, and we agree the Excellence resorts are the way to go. My wife and started going to Excellence resorts 2012 and have been going at least twice a year. My wife likes Excellence Riviera Cancun ERC (more of a Mexican Vibe), and I like Excellence Playa Mujeres EPM. The EPM general pool is bigger and lots people to meet. At ERC the club level pool and General pool are very sociable. We meet new friends every year we visit these sites. We always upgrade to the club level and stay in their two story suites. One year they upgraded us to the Imperial suite at ERC and that was mind blowing. You should try either ERC or EPM ... maybe both. We would like to get your take on them both. The ERC Magna clubs has tomahawk ribeye steak that will make your night. Safe travels.

We can’t say enough about our experience. We plan to try another Excellence Resort, just need to decide if it will be in the D.R. again or maybe Mexico this year.

Both EPM and ERC are good. The main pool at both resorts are fantastic! We’ve been to both EPC and EEC also. Can’t go wrong with Excellence resorts.

We went to Excellence Punta Cana the year before you got there - and fell in love with it. We used your video to talk our friends to travel with us on our second visit, and they fell in love with it too! And now we just booked for our third trip! It's that good. Even though we now ALWAYS refer to the Club pools as the "Church" pool and the "Morgue" pool in conversation ROFL - wanted to say that the Church pool was pretty hopping when we were there last time! Sad you didn't get a chance to feed those flamingos. That was definitely a great memory for us.

I liked Excellence Punta Cana but my fav Punta Cana hotel is Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana. Thought the food was better at Hyatt.
Service was very good at Excellence but very iffy service at Club pool for drinks. I am going back to Excellence in 6 months though - cost is much better than the Hyatt.
FYI - I went solo but met so many wonderful people.

@@parinazaz4044 I’m not a beach person, prefer the pool. Beaches are beautiful but many days are red flagged. Very strong undertow.
I’ve been to Excellence Punta Cana and Excellence El Carmen. At Punta Cana I do club only because of the club pools (El Carmen does not have club pools). I wasn’t a big fan of Magna (the excellence club restaurant, don’t need upgraded liquor. So club isn’t a big deal for me. If you have the money go for you. You are not treated any differently if you are club or not. The staff are AMAZING!

I have stayed at Excellence El Carmen not to far from this resort and it is amazing and it was more alive… more music , more people so much fun but classy.
All I can say is wow. I was at the Excellence El Carmen the last week of March and as beautiful as it was, the food was really disappointing. Glad to hear you had a much better experience at their sister resort. We still had a good time, and met some great people. Agree, mostly couples there too, and not a party resort. But it was easy to get a small party started with like minded people. For those wondering about the Excellence Club, what I/we liked best was how they manage the Excellence beach section. You essentially have your lounger for the day, and never have to worry about the towel game, or someone taking over "your spot" should you go for lunch or a long walk on the beach (yes, I am paranoid about that - ask my wife!). Yes, you do get some private areas (never really used them other then the beach), separate check-in, and perhaps better building locations and views. That being said, I would still do the upgrade, if there is a next time. Cheers!
I experienced the same thing at Royalton Punta Cana vs Royalton Bavaro. The two hotels have the same ownership, are situated next to each other, and possess immense similarities. The culinary experiences, however , we bipolar.

@@korbindallas6727 Excellence Playa Mujeres in Cancun also has TERRIBLE food but we loved everything else and considering excellence. We've only stayed at Paradisus before.
Biggest pet peeve is the stupid towel game and lack of loungers or cabanas at the beach. I would pay extra just so I can have a dedicated spot every time
@@gunsmokezz Check out the Excellence Club. An up charge, but you have an exclusive area on the beach. Access is controlled. Never had any issues getting a lounger. They track your room, the palapa where you sit, and set up your towels for you. If you get there early (we were early risers), before the towels, then they have a process to let you pick your spot and they then put towels there when available. Never an issue or worry going for breakfast, lunch, or a long walk on the beach. Other resorts with "exclusive" areas on the beach could learn from this. The Excellence Club also has a couple of other benefits to read up on, such as specific buildings etc..

This is such a relief! After watching ALL of your PC resort videos, I hesitantly booked EPC for June a few weeks ago. I was nervous to go somewhere I hadn’t heard your thoughts on since you are so thorough! But I felt like your other videos gave me enough to know what I should be considering when selecting a place to stay, and this one seemed to fit this bill. Now having your stamp of approval is the cherry on top!

Great to hear your thoughts on the resort, thanks for sharing. I don't think I have ever seen Excellence Punta Cana look so quiet. The front club pool is usually quite lively (though certainly not party) and Alegria disco can certainly get lively once the martini bar shuts. However, in truth, I would not regard the property as your kind of scene, as it is most definitely a couples centric, tranquil haven (though I was confident you would find a lot of quality in it as well). If you walk to the right, just as the beach bends around the corner, the water is usually swimmable but of course you lose the beach service as it is off property. I am off to Excellence Riviera Cancun in Mexico two weeks tomorrow (fingers crossed) and in my opinion, its a notch up from Excellence Punta Cana. But even then, a lot of people think Excellence Playa Mujeres is better still (though ERC remains my favourite).
This was filmed during peak of peak season. The resort was packed, but indeed the crowd was subdued
I’m currently sitting in my hotel room at this very resort he’s in (excellence Punta Cana) and I’m in the exact same style of room he’s in and I can tell you this place is incredible! However the ride here isn’t that nice cause the Dominican Republic looks rough right up until you roll through the front doors and then it’s incredible in the resort. When you get off the plane look for your shuttle bus outside where the cars pull up and look for green polo shirts and black suvs. Again the D.R. Looks like shit but this place inside the gates is fantastic and the workers are all super nice!

My wife and I stayed here back in 2011 on our honeymoon. If you want a relaxing or romantic vacation, this is the place. I have stayed in many All inclusives. The Excellence brand is top notch. The best part of Excellence Punta Cana are the DRINKS... real fruit in every1 of them, not just a piece of fruit on rim crap. Food was good, with surf n turf (lobster diablo) being my go to dinner. My only minor complaint was the mound of bacon had zero salt. Lol not much of a complaint.
How is the beach/water?
@@parinazaz4044 Beach is beautiful, but water is rough as heck. Big riptide underwater, you want to keep your feet firmly planted. Not for swimming, great for walking and pictures.

I've heard the beach a little further down at Excellence El Carmen has more calmer waters. Do you know if that's correct? We are torn which one to go to for out anniversary.

Currently finishing up a stay at this resort and it has not disappointed. Clearly Chez Isabelle is the food winner and I'd approach Lobster House with low expectations. And, I'm wondering how much influence this video has had on travelers as most folks at the pool had Neutrogena SPF 50 sunscreen. Too funny. Made my choice to stay here in no small part to this video. I have been to EPC for 2 weeks last February and loved it. We weren't in the Excellence Club section, but we really enjoyed everything. The only thing i didn't like are the waves.. kinda too rough and we had that red flag all the time we have been there. Glad we took an excusion to Saona island to enjoy swimming in a calm sea.

@@therealcpshow7386 I loved going to Saona Island. On the boat going there, we stopped at a natural pool. We saw some sea start. The water was so clear and warm. Then back on the boat to head to Saona. This is the true paradise. This is THE place to see when you are in Dominican Republic. The water is warm with soft waves. I just didn't want to leave. I wish we could spend a few days there. Yes there are a lot of people but we can deal with it. It's not worse than on a resort. Yes i would go back to Saona without hesitation.

@@jjjlove2260 I had a great time weather was absolutely beautiful. We found beach massages for $35 right on the beach close to hotel that was amazing that saved us hundreds from getting the hotel massages. We had a swim up room that was breathtaking. Staff was friendly and property was clean. Food was pretty good for an all inclusive. Only thing i didn’t like was the liquor selection it was trash but that’s typical for an all inclusive other thn that it was perfect.
Really looking at booking for my honeymoon. It does look a tiny bit remote but I think we’ll go on the odd trip and just be happy to chill!

Hi mate, you spoke about the beaches being really rough on this property, where is the ideallic beaches you see that are calm with the clear water so you can have a little snorkel etc ? Also have you reviewd the other Excellence as cant see it on your lists ? Love the reviews.

Hi James. Have been following your videos from D.R. We are beach people and have been to the Arena Gorda area many times because of the walks on the long beach and swimming in the ocean. I would like to know which resort in this area do you recommend for this which would compare to EPC. Should mention that we only go to resorts where there are NO kids and prefer couples. Oh, also a beach that have a lot of papalas for shade. Thanks for your informative videos
Now that you've done EPC, you need to do Excellence El Carmen, which is also in Punta Cana. Only then, you will be able to say which Punta Cana resort is the best.
