Thanks for all of your great Punta Cana information. We watched a ton of your videos and used them to lock into Secrets Royal Beach. We returned yesterday and the resort was wonderful. Thank you!!
Just returned from there and I agree it is a 5 star experience. Two things we did not visit was the on-site casino and a dance club. We did not do either as we are older and don't gamble but they are a night experience. You did the theme restaurants and did not cover the buffet restaurant which is absolutely incredible for breakfast, lunch, and Dinner with a different theme for dinner every night like International or Mexican. We spent most of our time by the main pool. If the resort is busy you need to hustle out to claim a spot early in the morning by placing a personal item on a chair so you get a premium spot. Especially so for the Quiet Pool. It goes very fast. We did not get the preferred option and feel we did not miss a thing. Although we did not book the Preferred Club they did offer it at check-in for $1100 then quickly reduced it to $534 which we declined. But I think the more expensive option also included an upgraded room. Which explains the difference.
Our weather was perfect .
Just a heads up. Wife and I are snooping out the best price at Secrets in December. Called the resort to ask about Preferred Club upgrade for half of our 11 night stay. They recommended we book our stay without the Club add on and negotiate the price at or before check in. Sounds like you can get this add on for half price. James, you have the best reviews! Thanks!!

@@jordanstafford8447 Long story. Ended up going to Lopezon and Hard Rock. Lopezon the more polished but the beach was a let down. Hard Rock was a little dated but the beach and the food made up for it.

Given that you COULD HAVE gone to Dreams next door and used their facilities as well... I'm having a hard time determining if PREFERRED club is worth the upgrade. The Preferred area here looks very small compared to what we had last year at Cap Cana (which was AWESOME). We booked for next year at Royal Beach, but are wondering if Preferred is actually worth it.
Where’s the beef ? It’s in that giant burger you had Mr James ….that was crazy big lol . I definitely liked this resort . The lobby was very nice as well as the room . Great pools …I love me a swim up bar …well truth be told I love any bar . I agree with you about some of these types of resorts …not a lot to do after dinner . More of a relaxing vibe . Looking forward to the next one 😎😎😎

Secrets Cap Cana is a better resort by far. It’s pretty much considered by many the best Secrets resort in any of the Caribbean locations.

I don't need to be the life of the party but it looked like a retirement village. Don't get me wrong it looked very nice but I looked a little slow for me. Great review though I really enjoy your content. In fact because of your review we actually decided to go to Royalton Chic Punta Cana for our anniversary. Thanks again and keep up the great work. I went to a similar resort in Cancun and the location was amazing but fell short on the food unfortunately. This resort looks amazing though, thank you!
Food quality is always a drawback at all inclusives
Clarification for people wanting a swim up room: around 4.5 mins in he shows lower level rooms and says those are the swim ups, they are NOT. Those are the room categories called "Preffered club junior suite Private Pool". The Swim Up categories have 0 privacy, and are a big shared pool with other rooms on that floor.

Me and my boyfriend (25) are planning to visit DR in the next few months. This is definitely a top contender, but we are wondering what the demographic is like on this resort? Is it a young crowd or a mix of all ages?
I've stayed at secrets before. It was mixed during my stay. 30s and up
I went with my gf last month. i'm 27 and she's 22 and I would say that we were the youngest couple there

its funny that you say your in the preferred tower cause that room is definitely not a preferred room. I had the same room when I booked standard and only upgraded to the preferred and change rooms when I arrived and the preffered room was wayyyyyy different. the preferred tower is actually the closest one to the beach, and I can tell by your view of the quiet pool that you aren't in the closest one to the beach. Just thought Id add that :)

Hey Love your show. We've stayed at Dreams Royal beach which was right next door and we were jealous. We also stayed at Secrets Cap Cana which is very nice as well and newer I believe. Will you do a review at the Secrets Cap Cana resorts location in the future as well? I think you will love it. everything was on point. We only stayed there for only two days and didn't get to fully indulge but we enjoyed the short time we were there..

We’re going for the third time in November. Beautiful resort,great service, very good food, but needs more options. In my opinion Secrets Cap Cana is the best resort, however SRB is an amazing resort too.

I have - many times. And most importantly, a dual vanity provides more counter-space and is indicative of a larger and classier bathroom.

Great video! My wife and I are looking for an all inclusive resort to celebrate our 20th next year and this one came up in our search. So naturally I searched RUclips for some walk throughs and reviews. This looks to be high on our list but we'll keep looking for others as well.

@@Sugarshane88 Both properties are beautiful but Cap Cana is the newest one & it's gorgeous but quite. Royal is a little more lively. Just make sure when you go to the DR to avoid the seaweed season go from December to early May. By Memorial weekend the seaweed has arrived.
@@Sugarshane88people need to realize seaweed is going to happen at any resort. Its a Mother Nature thing that resorts have no control over. My wife and i went to Excellence El Carmen a week ago and there was zero seaweed, but 2 years ago we went to the same resort at the same time of year and the beach was covered in it. There was literally 6 inches to a foot of it everywhere on the beach. It was the craziest thing i had ever seen. They were actually using dump trucks and backhoes on the beach cleaning it up. Im sure if you talk to travel agents they will say that certain ends of the islands are more likely to get more, but it can wash up anywhere. I got to say their staff did an amazing job attempting to clean it up, but there was just so much washing up every morning they never really got it under control.
Bro i think they pay you for that review or something… i went there August 2023, beach was nice, but everything else is old, room is old, shower is old, service is just ok, food is so so, entertainment 👎🏼 i paid 2500$ cad and yeah i regret it 😕 people save your money dont go there

We have been to several resorts in Punta Cana over the years. My husband and I are in our early 70's but we still like to have a good time. Lately we find that most of the resorts we have visited seem to cater to people under 30.
Would Secrets Royal Beach be a good fit for us?
Sorry but I went before and after the renovation. Bad both times. Service ah our butler was Mr attitude. Never would follow up. We were preferred and no preferred would go into our section and steal seats. We complained about it and were looked at like we were Karen’s. Sorry but I paid extra $$ for that and expect to be accommodated. Food was subpar. Sorry but better places for less money.
Does this resort offer excursions/tours like the Sandals resorts? Sandals also has a wonderful beach party, a white party, etc. IDK, it seems like all this offers are the pools and beach???

Just watched severral reviews and the club level double bed room DOES have a double vanity sink.. you just had a king room so thays why you only have one vanity. Glad to know this as i just booked for December!!
We find the Tepanyaki meals average at all all inclusive resorts. The atmosphere can be fun but the food is generally meh. Preferred club is a perk that people like to brag about on facebook. Some places its a nice benefit. I like booking so preferred is included no matter which room category is booked. That way I get to enjoy the good and dont worry about the bad...or having to pay more.

Found out later it was same resort that 11 people had died. Hard Rock Punta Cana. They think someone is swapping out good liquor for homemade.

Totally agree with you on that one 👍 I was there in 2019 for a week, it was a last minute booking as my tour operator went bust, and I’m going back this year for 3 weeks as I enjoyed it and a week wasn’t long enough last time, it was booked for 2021 but cancelled because of covid.
Hunter steakhouse was amazing, and the service in the sports bar was second to none.

I have stayed at this resort. Room service dinner is awful. But can report that room service lunch was excellent! Especially the cheese burger with onion straws and coleslaw.

Nice Review! I'm checking if I stay there this September 2022, but just seen the brands of liquor and food they offer I'm not very convince. The food should be more attractive and more premium for the cost you are paying. Its seems you are paying for the installations of the hotel rather than the food and the drinks, even they didn't give you a mini bar at your room. they only give you 3 little liquor bottles. The RIU hotels gives you more for a less price.
