Just came home yesterday from Riu republica. Spent 8 days. He gave a detailed review. I would not give 5 stars. Rather a 4. Food was good with a variety of different cuisines. 10 restaurants. The pools by the beach are definitely the party pools. While the ones in the back are chill out. We went to saona island me and my girl and it was beautiful. Also did dune buggies and had photos taken. I paid cash and they never sent me photos thru my email so be careful with that. I was disappointed with the wifi because had NONE whatsoever in our room to watch Netflix etc. Also they did not give us clean towels everyday. I am not one to complain and go with the flow but I got frustrated with the wifi and towels. And had to call front desk 5 times almost everyday. Riu was all ages. But the majority was younger crowd. I'm 50 and mixed it up a bit. Chilled for half and partied some too. Club pasha on campus is cool. Open till 5am. They have a sports bar open 24/7 for snacks and drinks. Mostly burgers hot dogs and sandwiches like ham and cheese. But for $99 a night and all inclusive all the food and drinks you want it's definitely worth it. So if your looking for a quiet place or a party place riu has both. I gave the bartender a $20 tip and he treated us like gold. Then gave him another $20. Tip your bartender nicely and they will do right by you. I usually give a dollar a round. But if you give them a $10 spot or $20 and plan on drinking alot you will be treated like a king and queen. The review is detailed. Good job.
I just came home from Riu republica as well. I just want to add that in our room wi-fi had no problems and we got new towels every day (we also made sure they are on the floor - it was specified, or else won't be changed). There was wi-fi even on the beach a good 100m from the pools

@@kyrawoods-buckner9754 it has 6 slides, 3 tubes and 3 really abrupt ones. I was a bit scared to go on the abrupt ones and the tubes hurt my back going down, getting hits where each tube comes together with the next. So that kept me from trying it more than once.

Just got back yesterday from the RIU Republica based on your recommendation. I've been down to Punta Cana now 7 times I can honestly say this resort had the best nightlife and parties I have ever seen down there. I wanted to say thank you for the recommendation, my entire party had an absolutely blast at this resort.

If you're the kind of person that enjoys standing on the speakers and going shot for shot with some of the most beautiful people of every shade, height, weight and nationality that the Caribbean has to offer, then do not hesitate to book a stay at the Riu Republica! It's not a place for introverts, as everyone is extremely friendly and they will not let you sit at the bar and drink alone, looking all lonely and shit 😂

My fiance and I stayed at that Resort for 4 days in 10/2018. We booked it with airfare and Resort together in a package deal thru Expedia for about 1,300.00 to 1,400.00 altogether. This spot was worth more than what we paid. That mini bar on the wall was stocked with different liquors so I can have a shot anytime I want in my room without having to step out. The place, food, staff, vibe!!! Overall was awesome!!!

@@Iamkrystamarie How are you. I book most of my flights and my combination package of hotel/resorts and flights through Expedia. Their customer service has always been good to me. Thats big in my book when i encounter any problems they've been very proactive at resolving the situation. I usually book 3-6 months in advance and I consistently check their prices because they can go up and down like a roller coaster. I usually compare to other third-party sites also. In the end Expedia is always the better overall fit for me. I also read the reviews a lot. FYI I find the 3 and 4 star reviews to be more impartial(giving pros and cons). As you can see you also have to be willing to take the time and check the prices every other day or so. In the end I'm almost always satisfied with the results!! Sorry this was so long winded. I hope it helps!

I went to the Riu Republica then end of September into October of 2021. I got an amazing deal $350 for 8 days 7 nights including airfare from Philadelphia. I went with 2 friends and we all had single rooms. The single room rate was cheaper than double. That's unheard of!! We enjoyed the jerk chicken hut and the steakhouse the most. I'm surprised you didn't visit there. That would have blown your mind!! The steaks were unbelievably large and flavorful. Everything was deelish. I've been to Punta Cana 9xs this was my first time at this resort and the cheapest I've ever paid. For adults only and single rooms, the value couldn't be beat. Staff was great and the beach was amazing. We had champagne everywhere day and night. We were treated like royalty. I enjoyed the less crowded pools because of the covid. I was extremely satisfied.

Just got back last week from DR Riu Republica after 7 days at the resort. Pretty accurate review to this day! Def recommended. There are wild party areas as well as more low key chill areas on the property. Great accurate review sir!

Thanks for this review! I am planning a solo trip to Punta Cana this summer and I've been weighing my options. I considered Riu Republica, but I was concerned it would be too much of a party place. I'm glad to see there are calmer areas for introverted people like me.

@@Animegamernerd1 Oh, I ended up canceling my trip and rescheduling it for the summer of next year instead. I also found a more calm resort that I think would align with my interests a little bit more. I took this one off my list, because some other channels and reviews showed it as way too much of a party scene for me.

@@mikeherb My choice is the "Excellence Punta Cana." They have a second Excellence resort there in D.R as well called "Excellence El Carmen" too.
Based off of my research, the Excellence PC resort is pretty calm and quiet, so if you like to party on vacation, then you would probably prefer Riu Republica anyway.

I love RIU! It’s totally safe! They offer a ride to and from the airport. They are contracted with different excursion companies... the drinks are pretty weak for me so I ask for shots lol! The food is amazing, customer service is great!!!! If you tip the waiters you get treated like you own it 😂 Oh! They also have water sports for a SMALL fee! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We just got back from here last night. Our room was 4th floor overlooking Aquamar and beach. Never made it to other pools on water slide side. We just stayed at the sister pool of Aquamar, La Oasis I think it was. The rest on the beach or under palms. I would give pool entertainment a 5 star rating as well as all the staff. The resort is maybe a 4 star maybe, but the food is 3 at best. If you must eat at a restaurant, I would go to the steak house for the Ribeye, the greek salad that comes with it was fresh an pretty tasty as well.
If you want good food in an All inclusive go to The Excellence and eat the lobster diablo every day while sipping reel coco locos. If you want to let loose and get away with the other and don't mind buffet, then this place rocks. Oh the jerk chicken is very good I pretty much lived on it.

Thanks for the review. I just stayed there 7 nights and its def not 5 star hotel but the beach and most of the people were great. Absolutely book the Bavaro tour with snorkel and natural pool tour. It was less than $40 dollars a person and they take you out on the Catamaran for 3 hours and get you schlammered on rum and cokes. Everyone is your best friend on the boat when you get back.

Stayed at Riu Republica this week (Thursday 9/8 to Wednesday 9/14). Resort is really nice. Food is good but you have to make sure to watch for when the freshly cooked stuff comes off the stoves/ovens/grills. A lot of it is buffet style and sits under heat lamps so if it's been sitting for a bit, the food will be hard or cold or both. As far as the theme pool parties like the Jungle, Pink, White or Neon parties - these are not at the pool at Riu Republica. They are at Riu Palace Punta Cana. Transportation is provided to and from Riu Palace however the transportation is not the type that runs every 10 minutes or such. It takes you there and you have to wait until 6:30 for the return trip. We went to the Jungle Party on Monday and were lucky in that the bus was outside waiting at 5:30 and enough people were ready to leave that they left early from Riu Palace. By this I mean that the bus has to be completely full. It will not roll out of Riu Palace if there is even just one seat empty. There is really not top shelf alcohol and the only beer available is Presidente which is not bad.

Great review! We wanted to try a cheaper, but still fun party experience than our normal Temptation trip in Cancun. Don't get me wrong, Temptation is off the charts party, but we go every year and wanted to switch it up soon. Will be adding this hotel to our list.

You really make the best reviews of hotels in Dominican Republic and Mexico. It's always a pleasure to watch them. However, it should be even better if you could talk a bit about the fitness equipment of the hotels if they have some. For me, it's really hard to miss a workout, even in vacation. Started watching some other videos and realized this is the same resort we are booked at coming up February 4-9. I was kind of worried because we did it as a goof trip not sure about the place. Now we’re totally excited based on this review! Especially as we just followed some of your other reviews and stuff while in Vegas this weekend. The Don Sandino shot at Clique bar at Cosmopolitan is on point, so was Otoro! Too cold for the pools though!

was in Punta at Riu Republica from ofct 13 - oct 20. just have to say the experience was incredible. parties were top notch. I agree with his assessment its not 5 star more like 4.5 to me. I have to stress you go to this resort for the party experience! dont miss the Riu parties as they were all great!!!!
There is absolutely no such thing as bad weather when on vacation...unless it's a natural disaster!! I think people forget the point of a vacation it's to not do anything and relax eat unhealthy wakeup and sleep at time you usually don't do when at home. Rain, Sun or Snow I will have a great time either way!

There are all adult ages there, he actually missed alot of stuff. The hotel complex is huge and theres a party side and a more relaxed side. Theres multiple pool spots to hang out at and at night theres two show areas and multiple bars. Its actually very beautiful at night too just walking around. If you goto bed early just make sure to get a room away from the stages.

I’m definitely looking to have a good time. My last few trips to dr I have done laid back trips at secrets royal beach which was very nice, and renting apartments. So now I’m ready to party. I can’t wait to see how it is. I love pool parties and beaches. I had thought about doing vip at legacy or the cave. Great review!

Ok so we were just at riu republica last week and here are my takeaways….on the plus side-1. the beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs on the beach and plenty of shade and room under the palms if you need to get out of the sun. 2. The jerk chicken stand by the beach is amazing!! 3. At The steak house, the meat sampler for 2 was delicious but the “sirloin of beef” at the Mexican restaurant “ole” was even better. The Asian restaurant was pretty good-get the chicken that is between the duck and spare ribs-very good! The main buffet was what I expected for a riu for breakfast and dinner. the property and room were clean..reading some of the other comments, my wife agreed that the beds were hard……here comes my biggest complaint, we were in the building at the polar opposite of the beach which is back behind the mango restaurant-there was an ice machine on every floor of our building- none of them worked… I went to the adjacent building and the 1st 3 of the ice machines I tried, were all broke as well….IT WASNT UNTIL I GOT TO THE 8th ICE MACHINE THAT I TRIED AND FOUND IT WORKING--that’s 1 in 8 ice machines that worked- Ridiculous!!!

We stayed here in 2019 for three nights and had a great time :) We're not the party type, but there are undoubtedly quiet places in the resort for people like us. We found that the party atmosphere was "contained" to one of the pools, so we just stayed away from that pool and had a great time. The food was delicious (We didn't like the Indian restaurant too much, though), and the rooms were very nice. The couple that stayed with us had some noise problems at night with people passing outside their room door late at night and being loud, so I would advise getting a room away from any pathways to the disco or bars; not ground level would be a great idea!

We are in our late 40s and like a lively atmosphere at times. We also like peace and quiet. Glad to see there is both. We are going in April and chose Riu Republica because my wife wants to feel comfortable in a thong bikini. I'm in good shape and wear a brief bathing suit. We don't need fat out of shape people staring and judging which is more typical with my fellow Americans. Hope there are alot of Europeans. How do people dress? Can my wife wear a sexy dress? Will she feel comfortable in a thong?

That wasnt even the real party pool when I was there a few years back!
There are more pools and water slides on the opposite end of the hotel away from the beach, if your room was on beach side theyre easy to miss as you have to pass thru the main area and go thru the grato.
The pool by the water slide is where they would hold the foam party on its designated night when I was there and was a relaxing but still slightly busy pool with a volleyball net during day.
The pool across from this one, has an in pool bar and a big island table people would slide down, dance on, play flip cup, etc and generally was the rowdy 20s pool. That was the crazy party pool. And the entertainment staff did beer games too
Theres also another buffet back here and a covered outdoor stage they was a good social spot at night.
Some of the stuff may have changed, but those back pools are worth checking out. There was also the onsite night club near the sports bar.
I think the Riu Republica tends to be such a great party hotel is because the price allows for a younger crowd to afford it and its the youth that bring the energy.
The only negative was it was hard to know the daily activitie and know what was going on where without exploring. Its a huge hotel, you need half a day to just walk it and get an idea of where everything is.

That hotel looks 50% pool hehehe And good on you for partying at Legacy until 5am! It really is the most fun club in that area.
Went last year- partying nearly killed us & the Indian food was disgustingly bad- off to RIU Palace Montego Bay this year- love your reviews
