@@William-zx8jf I was yes. My gf didn’t want anything where people get sloppy drunk so we stayed away from Riu. Chic was avg age 30-45ish. Seemed like everyone was well established adults. I’d imagine Riu draws more of a college crowd

Loved this place. Small and amazing. Food was to be as to be expected. The Prime Rib was actually good ate that twice. Get diamond club totally worth it for the beach side food options. And you need diamond club just to get reservations for dinner.

I love your review. Me and 3 of my female cousins are going in December for my Birthday. Based on what we desire from a vacation, i.e. mostly relaxation with a little bit of excitement, your review seems like we will be just fine. We did opt for the Diamond Club - just because we don't want to be limited during our stay. We didn't mind the extra cost. Also, we have the swim out rooms. I am super excited to try the Indian restaurant because I love Indian food. So, hopefully everything will be open and operational when we go. I have shared your review with many of my friends. Hoping for a great time!
Whew chile... this was my first taste of punta cana 4 yrs ago everything abt this resort is amazing.. except their are no elevators so that drunk walk/stumble back to your room will be funny an painful... food is great.. the party is great.. the ppl u will meet is great. . Just go
Thanks for this. We just left Breathless Punta Cana and already booking for April 2023 at Chic Royalton!! We did Royalton Cancun and fell in love with the level of service. Royalton is the Disney of All Inclusive Resorts!

@@ladonnatolbert Breathless was nice but I agree with James that the food was a lacking and underwhelming on the selection. The rooms are indeed ugly and I would say the "bulter" service with the Xhale club is underwhelming.

I've been to Punta Cana on two occasions..and agree they really know how to cook good "Italian Food"!

Yes though comparing a pre with a post pandemic stay probably isn’t fair. The Royalton we’re at is gorgeous but we heard that when everything reopened-in this part of Punta Cana the Hard Rock significantly boosted the wages and got all of the more experienced staff so there are some supply chain and training issues

Yeah Uvero Alto has less pleasant looking beaches than Bavaro but they’re a lot less crowded and have more seating/space

Agree with this review 💯 percent. Diamond club really wasn't worth it, it's a pretty small property. Got bored after the 4th day in a 7day stay. Had the suite with the jacuzzi and room stayed damp.

I was considering Royalton Chic Cancun, but I am feeling worried about its small size. Since we are traveling with a large group of adults, I am worried people might get bored at such a small resort for 7 days. Do you think this resort would get boring quick for a group with a variety of interests? Thanks in advance!! :)

Which is better out of the three? Riu Republica / Royalton CHIC / Royalton Punta Cana? Stayed at the Royalton Negril last month in Jamaica, we loved it! We're a young couple, in our early twenties. We love a party scene, any recommendations (including hotels we haven't mentioned) would be appreciated!
I have only been to RIU REPUBLICA once and believe me that's the party resort. I wouldn't go there as a couple lol but try at your own risk (:

Just came back. Had a good time. Left a review with the property and Marriott website. Beach didn't look like it did in this video, much smaller and extremely rough the whole time, red flag/no swimming. Wasn't a show stopper but yeah.. otherwise mostly similar take on the property.

Chic or Riu Prepublica for easy social interactions and medium to high intensity partying?
James: an upscale version of RUI Republica? Il looks really great, except for the room, which does blow my mind. Its not like they are tight for space. Similar to the RUI Republica vibe except this has: better food and dining ambiance (for sure), better bed and a better pool set up. RUI likes their big rectangles. The foam party is very Breathless like. The RUI Party scene, located at the main RUI campus, has the motherload when it comes to the Jungle and Pink foam parties.
Splurge for a room with the big tub in it

What is the “main” RIU in punta cana?
@@Jiggy609 Repiblica is by itself (essentially beside Hard Rock). The main RIU campus is massive and it closer to Bavaro. At the RIU main site you will find FIVE properties: The Palace, Palace Macao (adults only - older), Naibou and some others. It is here where the "over the top" purpose-built adult only party pool complex is located. This is a giant adults only "splash pad" with lots of music, bars, themed foam parties and lights.Republica sends a party buses to these pool parties. There is nothing like it!!

My son is currently at the resort and he says the pool area is like a morgue. He has been there for just over 4 days .. hopefully things " turn up " at the "party " resort. 🤷♂️
Edit: Foam pool party finally happened and he loved it. He said the breakfast buffet was great but lunch and dinner buffet was not good at all.
Vespa was his fav and went 3 times. Indian was closed when he wanted to go but when open it was ok. Hunters was good but not great.
Overall he had a good time but certainly not a " party " resort .. in his 22 year old opinion.

Not chic this review is entirely different from when I went. I’m 21 & went for my birthday, the crowd was mostly +40 mostly older men & older couples. The clubs close at 2:00am & the pool/entertainment isn’t the best either.

Ok here now, and underwhelmed. The property is nice, beach is full of mounds of seaweed. Food is subpar, drinks as well. Staff is hit or miss and all the people trying to sell you anything from trinkets to cabanas to excursions. Just had higher hopes after seeing the reviews on this place
the seaweed is always hit or miss. they seem to clean it up on days but can't predict that stuff
