Captain Hook may be looking for that, lol.

The hook is for a paint can and a ladder, one end hooks to a ladder rung the other to the handle on a paint can, so no need to hold the paint can while you're on a ladder. We enjoy your videos. Is your son still in the Marine Corps? Old Marine here, Vietnam Era.

Not sure at all what the metal is but I totally agree with the previous comments, Grampa Markham has a place to go at the Farm. It was not only his root cellar but secondary use was in case of Tornado. Locating a safe place should be on the list for sure! Agape NanaB

      Hi Nana B! 👋
We do need to find our safe place in case of an emergency. It’s not something we had thought about out here till now. We have talked about it…we would love a dual purpose root cellar but with our high water table we have to try to figure that one out!! 😊

Looks like a log hook - pointed end swung into a log, curved end used as handhold

We thought it might have to do with logging but weren’t sure!😊

Rose bed looks good to me. Much better than the one in DC.

Great progress!! Even at my house it seems like there are always things to shuffle around. The great avalanche I call it. Ie to move this, gotta move that, and before that, gotta move/do this. Endless chain of crap that needs done before you can work on really what you need done. The metal I would say it is a logging tool although have seen similar ice block moving hooks. Glad you had no tornado survival emergencies. Is there any spot near the cabin that has a lot of stone/granite deep into earth? If so, dig a big hole and get some concrete blocks to build a shelter. Hopefully with some nice walls of granite to jump start the shelter. /You all have me missing Maine. I’ve started planning a trip! Yay!

      Hi Emila!👋
When we first got here the shuffling around was really bad! It has gotten better and we try to plan ahead a bit more!!
We did think it was a logging tool (with all the logging around here!!)
We have to figure out our safe place in case of an emergency out here. With our high water table it is difficult to build anything in ground but we will figure it out!!
Thanks for the support! Glad to hear you have started your planning!! 😊

The raspberry patch would look sooo much nicer if you would place the end logs to the end. Then place your two by 4s on the outside of the log . You’d just have to add one or two scoops of dirt. Keep it classy, not Jerry rigged.
