"I had the craziest dream last night about a girl who has turned into a swan. But her prince falls for the wrong girl and she kills herself" That is basically a summary of the whole movie for anybody who hasn't seen it. What she says in the beginning foreshadows everything that happens afterwards.
the ending is marvellous...i had goosebumps all over my body! i highly recommend this movie to everyone, it's definately the most outstanding and shocking movie that's nominated to the oscars
"Swan" is an instant guilty pleasure, a gorgeously shot, visually complex film whose badness is what’s so good about it. You might howl at the sheer audacity of mixing mental illness with the body-fatiguing, mind-numbing rigors of ballet, but its lurid imagery and a hellcat competition between two rival dancers is pretty irresistible. --IMDB. I'll watch anything with Nat in it. That goes for Mila Kunis too. That they are together in the same film is probably worth the trip to the cineplex!
I know Darren Aronofsky has been trying to make this movie for a while but would only make it if Natalie Portman agreed to play the main role. I'm really excited to see why he's been so eager to make this movie.
@Sunwukong13 No. It's not. It's about Portman's character exploring the darker side of herself in order to effectively dance the dual role of Odette/Odille.
I predict that this movie will have high scores. The director is Darren Aronofsky who made "The fountain" and "Requiem of a dream". The plot seems to be new and unique. Clint Mansell is the audio composer of this movie. But that's just a prediction after all.
oh my god! this looks great. also the wrestler and requiem for a dream are great movies. awesome director. ALSO also about five of my favorite actresses are in it.
Filmed at Purchase, that makes this the sequel to PCU. Oh I know the ending, Natlie Portman wakes up to realize she was just Mickey Rourke in a Wrestling Match.
Katy Perry once said in an interview that whe would like to kiss Natalie Portman. If Natalie can kiss Mila Kunis then she would have no problem kissing Katy Perry. I would love to see that :D
@Tiger20Lily It's about a great ballerina who suffers from OCD and delusional disorders that manifest to a climax as she prepares for the lead role in Swan Lake. We see the movie from the vantage point of Portman's character, which is a distortion of reality. No one is trying to steal her role, she is not in love with he instructor. Kunis's becomes Portman's alter ego "black swan" and at the same time is a real person. In the end Portman accepts the black swan as a real part of her...etc
some of the comments there just show on how much mooviegoers got damaged by the cheap flicks like transformers or dark knight :/ This is going to be awesome. ITs been a long long time since we had a good quality psychological thriller.
@metaspherz i know, but that still doesnt give the right for people to make homophobic comment, death threats ect ect, your missing MY point i think, re read my first comment, i was talking about what would happen even though people dont have to watch it, they will still look it up and make negative comments.
Can't wait to see this movie (besides Social Network and Catfish)! Looks interesting and it will probably give a really good/freaky twist to the plot or the ending.
The worst part of this all is that opening line... If she's a principal dancer in a company, the story of Swan Lake wouldn't come to her as a "crazy dream". It's a story all of us dancers have grown up with. I'm really, really unsure how I feel about this so far...
Se ve bueno lo nuevo de Oronofsky. Natalie Portman es garantía. Con beso lésbico. Una mezcla de géneros. Ver algo de suspenso en una película del señor Darren suena espectacular. El poster es exquisito.

I've been excited for this movie since I first heard about it, and after viewing the trailer and the poster, I've got shivers.
the ending is marvellous...i had goosebumps all over my body! i highly recommend this movie to everyone, it's definately the most outstanding and shocking movie that's nominated to the oscars

This looks like a crazy movie. Can't wait to see it.

@Sunwukong13 No. It's not. It's about Portman's character exploring the darker side of herself in order to effectively dance the dual role of Odette/Odille.
i'm pretty sure that i just figured out the big mystery, but i won't spoil it. looks pretty good, i think it'd be worth the money in the theaters
I read the script and this trailer just confirms what I felt when reading it and that is freaky and confusing, yet somehow good.
I predict that this movie will have high scores. The director is Darren Aronofsky who made "The fountain" and "Requiem of a dream". The plot seems to be new and unique. Clint Mansell is the audio composer of this movie. But that's just a prediction after all.
Finally. An original movie. Looking forward to seeing this one in the theaters.
oh my god! this looks great. also the wrestler and requiem for a dream are great movies. awesome director.
ALSO also about five of my favorite actresses are in it.
this movie looks really good
Thanks for warning on this one.
Finally ! A good looking thriller movie :D
I didn't expect this to turn into a horror/mystery movie trailer after the first half. :) But that was the point, i guess...
you dance too much you go crazy is the message
