How Does a Light Switch Control an Outlet? Add or Remove it

After changing the outlet back to being unstitched, what do you do with the switch? Do you remove the switch, cap the wires inside, and then just put on a blank wall plate?

I replaced a on off switch that controlled an outlet now the outlet is always hot the switch doesn't work it the wire is blk and red

Hey. If you only have one neutral, do you just break the tab on the line side?
