Awesome demonstration. I usually run black tape around the screw terminals to prevent any issues with wires touching accidentally in the box. Keep up the great videos.
Well done. I find switched outlets in living spaces to be annoying too. About the only time I like a switched outlet is in a garage, basement, or shed where the shop light needs to plug into an outlet. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
@@DavidDu0ng it’s coming! I did one in the living room below with no access so I’ll get that out in the next 1 to 2 weeks. I have all the footage- just need to make the video.
Not sure that you added a celiling light from a switch controlled outlet. I seems more like you deleted a switched outlet and installed a ceilling like?
@@Bryan916 yep- I was trying to explain the scenario that there was established power and a switch. So it didn’t look like I was adding a light from scratch. But correct, I did not want a switch controlled outlet, so removed that, rather than tying in at the outlet.
This is one of my favorite upgrades for an older home with switchable outlets. Nice work Emily 🙌
Thank you! Me too! It makes such a difference to the space.

Smart! I've never done that myself but I've seen others do the same.

Thank you! This whole subdivision was built this way (I think in the 80s). So much nicer to have overhead lights now!
This is amazing! Thank you! If you get a chance to add one without attic access, please make a video for that as well.

Thank you for this video I’ve been looking for something like this to install a ceiling light
@@francisdelgado9726 thanks for watching!
Very creative, thanks
Thank you for watching!!
Excellent job. So called "wire management' in a box is always a pain in the patuity
@@ascienceguy-5109 the worst!
Removing the original switch box and using that hole to fish the wires before replacing it with a old work box could have saved you a drywall patch.
@@Bloogblag absolutely! Super smart idea! Pinning your comment
Once I figure out how 😂not sure how to pin from my cell
