Can you imagine having a voice like that where you can literally drown out a complete orchestra. I've seen every version he's done on RUclips and this one is definitely the best. They were all magnificent but this one had something special.
He set the bar really really high. This is the best Nessun I‘ve heard from him, and also the most chilling I ever heard. Luciano was perfect in the 80s.
Before he starts, someone in the audience yells "DORMA!", at which point he and Zubin look at each other, shrug, nod, and proceed to give the finest version ever of Nessun Dorma.
Nope. This is the most incredible Nessun Dorma performance ever. He sings it twice, back to back holding the second High C for 12 seconds. It was on stage for a movie and he was wearing a speaking mic. 😉 ruclips.net/video/Q_hLh4qCqpg/видео.htmlsi=YkAxeE_2fz7LU0s7
Years ago when Pavarotti was performing at a venue in my area I went to hear him. I was not old enough to see Babe Ruth play baseball, but I got to see and hear Pavarotti sing in person. The greatest male opera singer of his time! To me he was to singing what Babe Ruth was to baseball.
I don't know if it was his best, but it's certainly the best I've heard from him or anyone else. His vibrato going into and during the climactic note is perfectly timed and perfectly controlled.
He's the best ever let's get that out of the way. I don't want to be wrong on this, but I am pretty sure that in this performance. He had no microphone at all. He fills the entire concert hall with his voice nobody else has done that
Enjoy your peace Dear Luciano. You certainly have earned it. Your Heavenly voice is now back where it came from...resting. It will be brought back with you and be part of God's gifts to ALL OF US IN HIS KINGDOM. AKA PARADISE
I will always have the 1994 performance as my favorite. At that time, Pavs was REALLY a seasoned tenor, and he was more focused on delivering the emotion than the perfect technique, and it shows. This one may be even more precise and flawless than the Three Tenors 1994 Nessun Dorma, but the amount of passion and the little imperfections of that particular performance is what makes it a true masterpiece.
Luciano Pavarotti was Created for Gods Glory, He was Blessed & boy were we Blessed to hear this Divine Sound I Hope & Pray He knew Christ Yeshua (properly) before He passed to make it to The Shamayim🙏♥️✝️♥️🙏 (Heaven)
You ever notice partway through the note, he bares his top teeth to gain that extra bit of resonance? We did a workshop with Sherrill Milnes back in the early '90s who shared that little tidbit. It really does help when you're up in the top of your chest range but still have to find a way to find a crescendo somehow without altering your technique once you're there. For tenors, it's the B natural-C range; for heldentenors, A flat - B and for high Veri baris F sharp and G. For some reason it doesn't work just below the two-note span, only at the upper limits where the cords are at their highest stress point. #funfacts #hashtagsdontworkinyoutube #formeroperasingerwishinghestillhadahighBnatural
This was no mistake it was a message. A message to all of the people who did him wrong. Revenge, best served cold if I'm not mistaken. Boss level 45-47🇺🇸

Heard this while I was painting my bedroom. Had to quit I was weeping so hard. Magnificant.

Best tenor there ever was and best there ever will be!
FATSO is top 5, number 1 is JUSSI BJORLING!
@@rickgora2952no digas tonterías
jussi is better
@@rickgora2952 Voice is good but his voice is 'honkier' than pavarotti thus pavarotti having a much more clearer and powerful voice.

Anyone who has ever sung opera will understand what I mean when I say his voice was incredibly “locked in” here. Sublime
I have not sung yet I understand too
cuz he sang it like 1 million times
Nope. Nope. Nope. Dan Vasc RULES nessum dorma!!!
@@karensu5464 thanks for the comedy😂
This and 1988 performance w/ James Levine are the best.
I miss this man. There will never be another.
He knew he had sung it in such a special way at the end. The relief and elation of performing it superbly. I bet that was an awesome feeling.
He's the best ever let's get that out of the way.

That is how opera is sung by everyone. No operasinger uses microphones in concert halls.
i think its more impressive that hes one of the only guys to have sung it WITH a microphone 💀
That’s what opera is. They train for that

Always an immaculate performance from this great Tenor!🇮🇹
Whatever year this was his voice was perfect he looked the best I love him at any age but this was absolutely the best concert!
As you can see in the title 14.01.1980 :)
I agree 100%.It’s an absolute magnificent performance.🙏🏻❤️ x
Qui aveva 45 anni
The whole concert, he is beyond brilliant from start to finish
I don't listen to opera, I'm not a fan of classical music, but this piece with this singer moves me to tears.
Then you are indeed a fan! Everyone has their favorite musical works that move them.
NO ONE EVER LIKE HIM!!! ¡NADIE NUUUUNCA COMO EL!!!

Pavarotti was by far best in 1970s and 1980s, 1994 he pressed more than he sang, not really good.
ÚNICO E IRREPETIBLE LUCIANO PAVAROTTI, LA MEJOR VOZ Q HE ESCUCHADO!!!!❤❤❤
Complete control over his voice. Beautiful and so powerful.
Incredibile meraviglioso!
I miss him! The great, great, the best tenor ever...!
Juste magnifique
Siempre, fantástico!!!!!!!! No me canso de escuchar su voz.... Siempre seré su fan!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I knew the maestro well and he always gave 120% in every performance whether it was in Erie PA or at La Scala. Una voce inconfondibile.
thanks for the upload
Indimenticabile
Astonishing.......
POR FAVOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR, LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER 1979.
Bravíssimo Maestro ! Il più grande di sempre !
Grande Luciano
As beautiful/powerful as The King performing Unchained Melody in his last concert. The pipes, baby, the pipes.
This is the best rendition of Nessun Dorma EVER
Seu sorriso e carisma era tão bom quanto a potência de sua voz.
Indimenticabile....
Absolutely superb
sooooo goooood!
Big Luciano....orgoglio italiano!
Excellent. Period.
i can't believe this was put up 3 months ago

Luciano Pavarotti: con tutti noi, in eterno 😂😂❤❤❤
Te adoro mi niño santo ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
that's the way to implode a theater.
gran Voz!!!!
He was only 45 years old at this time.
Legend! ❤
absolute fucking banger
You have been the best
Legend
Just wow 😮
la mejor version!!!
I guess he knew he nailed it.
One difference of approach is that here, he attacks the high note instead of scooping to hit it
he never 'scooped'
unparalleled
👍
This was his best Nessun Dorma
❤

EL MAS GRANDE DE LA HISTORIA...SU VOZ ES LA PERFECCIÓN Y LA BELLEZA EN SI MISMA...GRANDIOSO LUCIANO!!!
What, no heavenly choir? In other Pavarotti performances I've heard of Nessun Dorma, there was always a heavenly choir singing back-up.
The 1994 (The Three Tenors in Concert) version is the best ever. This is close tho.
For OperaMyword : the video capture of the entire concert is here : ruclips.net/video/UHQEoTPGie8/видео.html
It is Zubin not Subin. Many thanks for uploading.
I wonder what Puccini would think hearing this performance.
Who's perling onions 🌰😢?
The best was in Paris 1998
Nadie interpreta como Giuseppe Di Stefano!!
Bellissima opera.
Nope. This was captured for a movie, with a dialogue mix on. He sings it back to back, holding the high C for 12 seconds on the second one. Your welcome

But this is live after many many arias at the end of the concert!
Best? 1977 Tokyo is better. 1986 Madison Square is better. Lincoln Center 1979 is better.
Not bad,..heard better versions from other singers
To each his own . I've also heard him sing this better. This was not his best performance of this atia.
FATSO so awesome here
