- Rushing floodwater caused by Hurricane Fiona swept away a bridge in Utuado, Puerto Rico. The temporary bridge was built after Hurricane Maria caused devastating damage to the island.

@@duvine3882 it's a territory of the United States, recognizing the US Constitution and US President. They aren't considered a country in any sense of the word, don't have sovereignty, can't make their own treaties or war for example. The only country involved is the United States.
@Tony Alston it was lost in the war. In fact just about everything west of the Missippi was at one time in Spain's hands, but was progressively lost in wars or sold to the U. S.
That's so sad. That island has taken such a beating with hurricanes.

That's called a Bailey Bridge. I built them in the Army. It will be pretty simple to replace it, but, maybe higher next time.

Oh, good grief! And that poor rescue worker with his hands on his head. Lord, I hope no one gets injured or killed, but that's pretty alarming.
Perhaps it is THEIR patrol car with the flashing lights that is parked on the other side of the flooding river,,,,,
@@peggyhiss1054 You may be right, but I certainly hope they hadn't been where the car was, & came across that raging river on foot. Don't think they'd have made it. The water was rolling like a tide across the bridge. In any case, they were distraught, & I can't say I blame them. Thanks for your reply.
I hope something can be done to prevent this. Maybe some dams or levees. Having your home washed away every five years is no way to live.
The bridge has to be built with the road-way higher than the last highest flood stage by at least a couple of feet.
This is a prime example of how fast mother nature can reclaim itself and that we are just temporary guest.

@@duvine3882 No, I haven’t heard anything in years, good or bad. I “thought” there were issues about building below sea level AGAIN and insurance comp. and/or the government wasn’t having it. Just a rumor I remember hearing long time ago though.

Tennessee will look the same after five more years of winter tornadoes and summer floods. You can't keep up with the destruction.

Bless my people. When I was a little kid a hurricane took our home and everything we had we lost all in pr I’ll never forget the days and months after hurricane George. We were homeless if it was terrible I still have nightmares over it I hope they figure it out I know what they are going thru 😢

I’m glad I was able to move away from there. The hurricanes are scary (especially since I experienced the one in 2017). Although family lives there so I know what’s going on there. I’m sending wishes to Puerto Rico and hope everyone is safe. Cause my heart breaks knowing what happens there.

A bridge floating away is crazy
I was so afraid that guard rail would break off and it could have hit one of those workers. Thank God the bridge took it with it. God have mercy on these poor people. 🙏

Water is literally the most powerful force on our planet
Oh, Snap!
Have we crossed the point of no return in terms of damaging the planet? There is no such point. We need to trust that our thought, which is our greatest quality, can change nature. We only need to understand the direction to which we should aim our thoughts. What should we think about? What condition or state should we aspire to and ask for?
In order to save our planet, we should think about positive human connections. That is, how can we, in our connections, keep nature safe? How can we all together protect our world? If we truly wish to better our planet, then we should see people holding a concern for how to positively connect everywhere that we look.
It has nothing to do with recycling or other activities that we commonly associate with as being sustainable. If we come closer to and consider each other, that we will reach an entirely organic, perfectly connected and round state, then the negative forces will disappear from the world.
We need to understand that if we start thinking better about each other, then the planet will recover from all harm, because our thoughts are the strongest force in nature. Likewise, our negative thoughts about each other are entirely to blame for damaging the planet. That is why the more we recycle and invest in energies and activities that we commonly think of as being sustainable, the worse our planet becomes. Nothing will work to benefit us until we reach a state where our attitude changes toward each other for the better to protect and improve our planet.

What happened after Hurricane Maria in that time they obviously needed help. People could barley find food. Obviously at least 5% of help. Anything will help since they keep getting worse and worse. Getting your home ruined and getting floods every like 5 years is traumatic.
Still waiting for the billions to rebuild that was never released. He gave us paper to soak that big water.
