I also pray for the ppl in the Turks and cocos Islands that God's grace will be with .They really got a cat 2 hurricane, which is worse than what created havoc in Puerto Rico. This seems to be the norm now. Every year I see footage of flooded neighborhoods, some look like it goes on for square miles. When I was in St Louis, I noticed in nice neighborhoods, all the houses were made of brick because of the tornados. It seems like something like that will have to happen universally where these storms and floods are.

For a little perspective, the 1780 season was the deadliest Atlantic hurricane season in recorded history, with over 28,000 deaths. The USA population was 2.7 million total in 1780, Puerto Rico has a population of 3.1 million today. Four different hurricanes caused at least 1,000 deaths each in 1780; this has never been repeated, and only in the 1893 and 2005 seasons were there two such hurricanes. The 1900 Galveston hurricane was the deadliest natural disaster in United States history literally wiping Galveston Island clean.
Instead of trying to hype up every storm that comes along why not do a story on how it is possible that after the entire industrial revolution and anthropogenic global warming via GHGs running rampant we are not seeing millions of deaths per year due to hurricanes.
