    After replacing my active steering module. I changed the vin to my cars vin using inpa and winkfp. Despite this I still got an error code saying that the vin identification for the active steering didn't match. After following this video to change the vo, the error code went away. Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what was done, but after trying different things for two weeks I am happy to say that this was the clear answer to my problem. Thank you Alvin for this video!

    How to you know what VO number to add or take away to put a module back to factory?

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  5 лет назад +1

      The best way is to write it down and keep it in the car so you know what to remove and restore when you decide to revert back to factory. There's no other way that I know of using the traditional method since VO is car and build specific. There might be newer apps that save a copy of the original settings.

      Alvin L I have a 06 bmw 750 and I updated the kombi and now the car thinks it runs on hydrogen instead of fuel so do you know how I can code it back to factory to it can show my fuel level and get rid of the hydrogen message

    Hey, hope I will get an answer soon. Bmw E60 2005 535d. I've removed the ccc system which came with the car and bought mask2 unit. I've successfully wrote $606(nav bussiness) And deleted $609(nav professional) in my vo, did that in CAS and LMA modules, changed the build date in vo to #0307/#0308 and so on but I can't see mask2 in ncs expert listed, I've only managed to see cic system listed when the build date was set to #0809. I do see the mask unit in inpa. Am I missing something? Thanks.

    Hy I would like to retrofit a pdc module to my car (e87) can you tell me do I need to code in to the VO only the cas module or something else to..........

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  4 года назад

      There is probably more than one module involved for the pdc retrofit. I'm not sure which modules are involved but there should be guides on bmw coding forums that have everything you need.

    Hey i have an E65 2002 if i manipulate the Production Date to a newer one. Will my Modules give me more functions?! Or do u know if i update a Module i mean can i flash my LM1 Module to a LM2? ;D i want more functions!!! Like Welcome Light or something else. I coded myself a new Battery in and i unlocked some Features like Trunk closing with my Key or i coded my Softclose locks.

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  7 лет назад

      No you will not get newer functions when you flash a newer software. You need the actual LM2 to get LM2 features.

    How about i cant see older module than my car production date?

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  7 лет назад

      Is the module you are trying to see functional? You should be able to see it because often times modules are pre-assembled before placed into the car. You should be able to see it when using INPA.

    can it be done with expert profile (the one without manipulation) ? i had trouble changing date and i was always doing it with expert profile, maybe this was the reason?

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  8 лет назад +1

      I haven't tried it with expert mode before, but generally speaking, expert mode is used to revert coding back to their default settings. I suggest trying the profile with manipulation. Also, are you just changing dates temporarily to be able to code a newer module or are you changing the date permanently? The latter requires the FA_Write command.

    Hello avin , so for example i have an e46 2002 and if i wan;t to retrofit a newer LSZ module (light module) like a 2005 model for to be able to use BFD option , i have to change the VO from the newer LSZ module with the VO from my original LSZ module ? and allso change the production date to the newer lsz module ? thanx

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  7 лет назад

      Rares, I'm not sure if this process applies to the e46 platform so I can't help you there. You should look that up on popular bmw coding or e46 specific forums.

    • @cretzo0
      @cretzo0 7 лет назад

      Alvin L thanx for your replay . I did not find something usefull on the web for e46 but i assume it’s pretty the same process. So you change the production date in the VO with the newer one and then you update the VO to both modules? Then recode the module to stock ang ur good to go? Thanx again

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  7 лет назад

      Yes, but you will have to update the vin with winkfp. I bought an FRM2 from an e92 and I had to update the vin to change it back to e90 since the wrong lights were on with the e92 vin. This video only shows the manipulation part in order to code the module with NCS. Hope this helps.

    • @cretzo0
      @cretzo0 7 лет назад

      thank you again , but why do you need to update the vin ? and actualy what does it do , how is it done ?

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  7 лет назад

      It tells the module what car you have since the wiring is different for different models (not sure about e46 since coupes and sedans had the same model code). You can do it with winkfp. I suggest watching more videos or research on how to do it for e46's.

    Hi mate,
    I am from Australia and I have an Australian BMW E92 M3 2008 model with old Australian CCC iDrive and would like to swap it with a new Australian CIC iDrive system.
    Would you be able to code it to my car's VIN# so all features including navigation, MDrive, BMW Services/Internet, Office, bluetooth audio streaming...etc. are unlocked and working fine?
    Please let me know?
    Kind regards,
    Ken.

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  9 лет назад

      +TheWarewolf79 Unfortunately, I have never done any cic retrofits so I would not be able to help you. I do know that CIC retrofits are more involved since you need more modules and maybe harnesses. I would suggest that you look for some coders in Australia who are able to help you out. You could probably find people who know the ins and outs of the retrofit through bmw forums.

    On this vehicle, FA Code is only stored on one module? I ask because you did not write the new FA string to any other modules?

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  5 лет назад +1

      I haven't looked into that but it's best to write the FA code to every module. I didn't when I made this video but I only ran it like that for 1 month before reverting back to stock.

    Pretty sure 90% of people didn't understand what u are doing in this video. Ones who do understand are the ones who already know coding. There's no point of making video when u are only half explaining whats going on. Just a suggestion, u would get far more viewer interaction if u explain step by step whats going on instead of just rushing through everything.
    But still i guess better than nothing so thanks anyway.

    • @me4I2
      @me4I2  9 лет назад +3

      +harshsmi I anticipated that people who were looking into manipulating production dates already had basic background on coding since this would not be the first thing I would do if I had just learned how to code. This step is only needed if newer modules were retrofitted in an older car. Thanks for the suggestion. I will keep that in mind if I ever make a similar type of video.
