    I would love to see a 3x week full body program with just minimal equipment like bands, dumbbells, kettlebells, weight vest and bodyweight, maybe TRX

      Minimal equipment is where bands really shine.
      With bands, a 25 lbs dumbbell or kettlebell doesn’t cap out resistance at 25 lbs, but rather, the resistance begins there, and bands increase it from there.
      Over on the Theology Geek Fitness channel, there is a playlist called “Bands Make It Better” showing this idea with bodyweight and sandbag training.

    Hey, I'm from Germany.
    I've been following you for a while... I discovered you because of the resistance bands
    I've learned a lot from you and wouldn't have thought that it would work so well just with them.
    I haven't been to the gym for several months now, and instead of losing muscle, I've built it up. I can feel the muscle better in many exercises than in the gym. It's really amazing...
    Keep up your good work!

      100%. They are definitely harder than they look AS LONG AS the person challenges themselves. It’s not about the equipment, it’s about how you use it.

    James, I love the whole concept of mixing free weights with bands! I remember you had some videos made with your buddy (I think he was from Australia maybe?). Don't you have a workout with the bands and weights specifically? I think the whole concept is a game-changer for sure.

    As of curiosity, what size dumbbells would be good to go with to get the most effective workout possible to gain muscle size and strength?

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  2 месяца назад +3

      So it will obviously come down to the individual but for me if I had to choose just one pair it would be 30lbs - but that’s me. I’d say, the best gauge would be to pick a dumbbell that you can handle (by itself) on your weakest exercise. So, for example, let’s say someone uses 25lbs dumbbells for curls, 30lb dumbbells for shoulder press and 45lbs for chest, then I would go with the 25lbs. Any of your smaller isolation movements like lateral raises for shoulders can be done with just a band

  • @machinedgod
    @machinedgod 2 месяца назад +1

    One trick when putting band around the back - if you make it into an 8-loop, it can't slip upwards or downwards and just stays there.

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  2 месяца назад +1

      Yep, that’s a good one 👍👊

    How do I select the correct size weight to start with?

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  2 месяца назад

      Great question! I would say it's one of the more common ones, as this is one area where bands are very different than weights, especially with the variable resistance (it increases as you stretch the band more). With that said, my best advice is to shift the thought process from "how much resistance it is" and instead focus on "how it feels". So put into action, pick a resistance level and see how many good reps you can do with the band, based on the level of intensity you feel. In other words, was your target reps 15 but you easily got 15 and felt like you could have done 5 or even 10 more reps? Long story short, you're just going to have to experiment a bit

  • @derekryanx
    @derekryanx Месяц назад

    With your normal workouts, are you still using the 20,10,10,15 rep scheme?

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  Месяц назад

      I still recommend the 20/10/10/15 to people that are learning mind/muscle connection and proper intensity. With my own workouts I've been experimenting with slightly less volume per exercise but making up the stimulus in the way of intensity. It's like a mix-and-match game....you can adjust volume, resistance, rep speed (TUT) as long as you're getting enough intensity/stimulus

    • @JamesGrage
      @JamesGrage  2 месяца назад

      Those are Undersun Fitness. They are sold exclusively on Amazon. That red/black color combo is new and not for sale yet but the orange bands and the Elite green/black bands are made with the same process (multi-layered molecularly bonded) which results in a very strong band.
