    What you said about taking your time to know the product instead of pumping out a review when it's just released is so true- love that mindset!

    My son gave me this for Christmas. Some things I avoid. First, I still have not placed a battery in the cap. As far as framing, I hold the shutter side under when I shoot portrait. It helps with the headroom. Also, like all fuji film cameras, I avoid harsh sunlight because the film has too much contrast and too sensitive. I also find that if you don't use the flash indoors, you better use a tripod otherwise there is some camera shake. I think with any of these Lomo cameras a person can get great pics. It is just a matter of practice, experimenting, and being willing to waste some shots.

    I love it, I am on my second camera, burned out the one I kickstarted ... I wish it had a screw in cable remoter shutter release or a self timer, i think all cameras need a self timer ... I dig the scale of the instax wide, so for me it's a must have!!!

    Thanks for the video, really useful. Planning to buy my second instant camera (the first one is Instax sq6), thinking about lomo wide. It was realized almost 6 years ago, isn't it out of date? And is it heavy? omg sheets always a problem, quite costly

    I was thinking about buying lomography lomo’instant or the lomography fisheye but at the same time I love lomography holga😂
    I’ve never bought a film camera so it’ll be kind of a new experience to me.
    Any tips ?

    Really liked your review. I own one already a few years. Sometimes exposure can be tricky, a Fuji Instax Wide 300 has more consistent exposures however no way to turn off the flash. The vignetting of the Lomo is visible but can give some artistic photos... Afraid of losing the lens cap I replaced it with a clip on 49 mm cap and keep the Lomo lens cap separate.

    Thanks! Whats the trick for getting a properly exposed portrait with this in sunlight shooting backlit? They all come out dark, can't even see my subject. Need to use flash even on a sunny day?

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  2 года назад

      When you say back lit are you meaning the camera is facing the light and your subject is back lit? If so try +1 exposure compensation and maybe with flash

    • @michaelbell75
      @michaelbell75 2 года назад

      @@JustAnotherChris Yes. Subject is terribly underexposed shooting backlit even on a bright day. I'll try using the flash.

    I got problem with my Lomo Instant Wide flash. So recently i use the camera again after a year. The flash not on, the batteries are new and the flash indicator is on (already green) but still no flash. I wonder if you have meet same case as mine, or if you know how to fix it. Love your channel

    I had this camera. Bought it from Lomo UK shop. It was trash. Rollers were faulty. Viewfinder was shite to compose shots. Lomo the company was terrible...claimed it was "characteristic" to have imperfections (2 lines across the exposures is not character) so had to get into a dispute to get refunded. Still using my Instax 200 which I bought for a tenner and gives vastly better results. NEVER buying anything from Lomography or their piss poor products.

    I have no luck with Lomography. I've got Automat Glass and Lomo'wide. Got Lomo'wide as a replacement for defected Automat Glass, but I am convinced the replacement is defected too. 90% of the pictures turn out dark and images are not as sharp as I would like them to be. I have even done comparison to Instax Wide 210 (love this guy) by taking exact same pictures with both cameras and there's nothing to compare - Instax wins. Btw, extra range finder that I have is proper bin material, as all you can see through it is blurriness... It's really disappointing, especially when Lomo'wide is at least 3 times more expensive than Instax wide older models... :(

      @@JustAnotherChris How old the video is relevant how?
      How about golf clubs, we have the best clubs ever known to the sport, yet the average handicap has gone up, not down. Does this help?
      What about the early painters and the equipment they had to work with, or early photographers who used their homemade cameras, often a box with a hole in it who never blamed the camera, but their lack of understanding the limits of not only the camera but themselves?
      If you know your limits and the limits of the camera and still blame the camera, its the photographer at fault, not the camera.
