    I have the lomo wide (I LOOOOOOVE IT 😫‼️) but I think I’ve come to realize with lomo viewfinders you just have to go with your heart, lol. I will usually look at my scene and hold the camera up to my face, lens in front of my eye, while remembering the scene in my head and just take the shot. I know i probably look like a complete idiot who doesn’t know how to use a camera but I’ve gotten my best shots that way.
    I have been going back and forth on getting this camera for quite some time and I watch your review when it’s in my cart because i want it soooo bad (I’m a sucker for a gorgeous camera) but i don’t know if i can justify spending over 100 bucks on another camera that has viewfinder issues. My heart is TORN!!!
    Fantastic video though!! Not only are you a talented photographer but so entertaining and enthusiastic about what you do! Thank you for working hard and sharing this with all of us :,)

    Such a delight it was to watch this review . I was also surprised by colors of prints with that pleasant look. The only drawback for me is plastic but it's hard to expect premium quality body from a lomo camera, even though it's design is pretty catchy.

    My lomo actually JUST showed up today haha. You're so right about a lack of videos of people actually using instant cameras! There are plenty of people going over what every button does, but not much past that. Photography Concentrate is about all there is, and they're amazing, but they only have so many videos. I tried to do tons of research before buying this camera, and I would have loved to have seen your video before! Oh well.
    My other instant camera is a fujifilm neo classic, you should try that one out! It's a bit unfair to compare this camera to the fuji 9.. it's the most basic of basic. The neo 90 has 10s bulb, 2x exposure, exposure compensation, and different shooting modes. I decided to get this one as well since it does square film, has infinite exposures, and 30s bulb mode (also technically infinite if you put it in mx mode and keep doing bulb). Also, that it's compatible with a lot of different lenses and filters is really fun too.
    Your photos came out so well!! I was so worried about this camera over exposing most of the time, but now I'm even more excited to take it out and get to shooting!
    Next on my list (and maybe yours?) is the Mint RF70. Can you say FULL MANUAL CONTROL?? $1000 yes but.. it's a hobby. I'm really looking forward to your future videos! You're really fun/comforting to watch. Thank you again!

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  4 года назад +1

      Dannielle Doplayna now this is a comment haha wow thanks for watching!! Also I do under expose my photos about 98% of the time keep that in mind and I will definitely check out the neo and of course I would love to check out the mint camera but as you said $1000 sooooo maybe one day haha.

      @Metroretro594 4 года назад +1

      @@JustAnotherChris Ty! I know these kinds of videos take SOO much work, so it only seems right to give some effort back with a comment!
      Technically, you can get the mint rf70 for $800 or so, maybe even cheaper on ebay, but for all the bells and whistles (which are some lenses I believe and other goodies), the pack will be $1000. Definitely a one day!

    This camera looks soooo sick! I just don't like the sound of how this frames up. I love the look and the fact that it is versatile... but I feel like if they can build from this, we have an amazing camera coming our way in the future! Even though I am not a huge mini fan either, I do like more options like that. Did you see the 4x5 wide film adapter on Lomography coming in April??? That would be cool to be able to use all 3 types of film on a camera like this!

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  3 года назад +1

      Yes it’s hard to frame things up that are close but it does do a great job for things farther away. I still love this camera and recommend it. As for the 4x5 adapter. I talked to someone that’s an avid shoot of 4x5 and he thinks it’s going to fail being of the way you have to focus it. People are going to get blurry photos most of the time according to him.

    Thanks a lot for this great review! Now I know I can just go for the standard version. I already have the Intsax mini 90, Leica Sofort and the SQ6. To be honest... I just want it for the "bulb"-mode. And... If I take a look at your pictures; I think the landscape pictures of this camera are better than the ones of the SQ6. Portrait pictures of the SQ6 look better however. So I will use this Lomo Instant Square mainly for landscape and bulb pictures. Thanks again! Really nice review! Cheers from the Netherlands!

    OK I got one in Black,and went to Best Buy to get the Batteries, and the film as I started in using it. As I really do not know is what this the big gripe of this model, personally I love this camera, I just gotten it, and place my first box of it as I tested it out on a overcast day, and for a speed of 800 it work, and then I scanned it, and got the most of the colors, and contrast of the prints. and also for the Parallax problem easy, what I did for my camera is that I got a cold shoe clip, and place it just barely as the prints coming out of the slot, and then I place an external finder that I could remove it, and then all my shots were well Center it by using an external viewfinder that is place on top, and in the middle parallel to the lens axis. Easy. And to all the other users that did not like the camera, One RTFM remember those Letters since no one read it.. As why they were wasting film.. My first batch I lost just 2 shots, as I seen one person from the UK (Not this Presenter of this video-another one) showing his hit's and misses of 2 boxes that I know that he did not read the Manual. In which I seen your video on him, and then I offer him a RTFM shirt so next time he will READ The F%$king Manual, As I told him that I have been shooting Instant Print photography since 1978, and took a seminar, and got his book. "Ansel Adams Polaroid Photography" GET IT. Maybe I should send the copy of the Book with some of his stamps since all this guy does is shows off with his gear.

    I’m really struggling to find the perfect instant camera right now!
    I love photo so I would also love some cool settings like this one. Although I saw a really bad review of it because of the exposure! Did you experience any difficulties with the that? I saw some really bad examples in the other video of both under exposed and over exposed (different according to the object’s position I think) that kind of scared me. I’m new to instant cameras but very willing to learn and would rather have a few more settings than to get it perfect the first time haha!
    What do you think? What prior knowledge would you recommend for this model?
    Many questions heh.. great video!!

    My one's remote actually stays in really well, so much that I keep forgetting how to take it out because it doesn't feel like it's coming out (mine is also black so it's harder to see the lines and stuff).
    One thing you didn't mention that I probably find a pain the biggest (aside from the lens vs viewfinder difference), is that the focal distance slider thingy always resets to the middle after you close it, and I like to keep it closed when I'm not taking a photo, so I'm always opening it when I'm about to shoot, and I keep forgetting to adjust it again so my photos are usually out of focus. Which is why I was so mesmerised by the photos you've taken on it and how incredibly sharp they are, when mine are absolutely nothing like that XD I've shot probably 6 or so packs? Because the film is $30 here, I'm a lot more scarce on using film.

    Really appreciate you reviewing instant cameras, I used a Polaroid Land Camera for as long as Fuji made film for it and I picked up one of the Lomo Squares in late 2020. Oof, bad experience. I felt about the Lomo Square the way you felt about the MiNT SF70 (thank god the Lomo didn't cost a grand!)
    First one I got wouldn't meter light at all, I contacted customer service and they sent me another without asking me to send the original back, just to send them proof that I scratched the lens to render it useless(🔨) Second camera they sent had the same problem: it would never get the exposure right. When they agreed to send a third camera without any pushback or remarking that it was odd that two in a row were trash I started to suspect I was running into known issues. They sent a third camera and it worked ok but the metering and flash still aren't great. I never got any shots as crisp as the ones you showed here. Very frustrating.
    OK, venting over. I dig your channel, when any new instant cameras are announced I'm coming here first! :-)

    Oh well, just hope RUclips improves its limping algorithm. No idea why most of the genuine useful vids have low reach? While the corny shit stuff is trending randomly. I even get notified on irrelevant topics. Sorry just started it outta context but I really can't put up anymore with this internet shit. Man, you got it! Right to the point! I have been bouncing for like an hour between RUclips vids made by amateurs and tech geeks who know nothing about nothing but to make useless reviews. I was kinda overwhelmed to sacrifice like $50 more on the Pigalle combo or just go for the cheapest option (black body). There was a voice inside me says "Hey it ain't just a camera. It's a whole package of experience". And Yeah, I made up my mind and perceived what you pointed out here about the same thing. Even those simple directional cards and sample picture have something to do with the experience. Thanks so much bro! Keep it up!

    hey man question, on cameras like the Lomo, how do you set the aperture and focus? the view finder does not show live focusing does it? how are you supposed to do that?

    • @JustAnotherChris
      @JustAnotherChris  7 месяцев назад

      This is an instant camera you can’t set the aperture nor see through the lens.

      @@JustAnotherChris Mhm yes. I can understand setting apperture without seeing with using some basic knowledge. But does it have no auto focus at all? How does one focus without that or looking at the live image? Pardon my ignorance.

      @@JustAnotherChris Update, I bought the used camera for 100 bucks, came with the close up lens, splitser, and mini back, which weren't listed, and missing the remote which is no problem bc I ordered a replacement. There’s 3 types of instax film mini,square and wide. This will shoot mini and square BUT you have to change the door out to shoot each one (if you got the combo kit to do so that is.)
