  • This dish shows that a sophisticated dish can be created with minimal ingredients. Enjoy the simplicity and relish the contrast in tofu texture by preparing this dish.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Ingredients
    300g or 10oz silken tofu
1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    50g green leaves
    Seasoning
1 teaspoon gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    Instructions
    1. Cut around the edges of the cellophane with a sharp knife then gently remove tofu from the packet, and invert it onto a board. Carefully slice tofu into 4 to 6 cubes, draining off any excess liquid.
    2. Heat the oil in a pan, over medium heat.
    3. Meanwhile, lightly coat tofu pieces in flour. Add the tofu pieces to the pan and fry it for about 3 minutes or until lightly browned and crisp. Remove it from the oil and drain well on kitchen paper.
    4. In a small bowl, combine salt, ground black pepper, gochugaru, and then mix.
    5. Arrange tofu on a plate, garnish with some green leaves, and serve immediately, sprinkled with gochugaru with salt and pepper.

With Chef Jia tender touch silken tofu turns out in good shape. This tofu can be served as appetizer.
Chef Jia you looks beautiful with your pull over . 👍💯🇰🇷🇸🇬

Thank you! Until this past year I never really cared for tofu. I decided to give it another try and Wow I now love it. I am going to make this for lunch today. Thank you for all your other recipes. I have tried several and every one was delicious. Please keep them coming! 😊

This is a lovely recipe. However, I don't have very good luck with silky tofu. It falls apart on me too easily. I will try this recipe though. Maybe I will be able to make it. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, it falls apart easily. Dusting tofu carefully with enough flour will help to hold its shape. I recommend using a spoon or spatula when adding tofu to the oil. : )

😋😋😋Absolutely delicious! Another great addition to Jia's recipes. 🥹However, I just burned my right ring finger when I closely placed my first piece of tofu into the hot oil, like how Jia did, because the hot oil splashes. 🫶If you are a learner cook like me, it is best to place the silken tofu into hot oil with a flat spoon or spatula.

Oh my! I am so sorry to hear that burned your finger. I hope you recover quickly. Dust tofu with enough flour just before adding tofu to the oil. Using a spatula is a brilliant idea!

@@JiaChoiChef My finger is fine now. It wasn't severely burned in the first place. 🤞🙂
