I am the owner of a low-waste shop in Wisconsin. Part of lowering one's waste output is also choosing better products for not only ourselves but our planet. I never ever preach perfection, so what you're doing by slowly incorporating better-for-you products is so good! I would recommend that you look in to donating unused products vs "just" throwing them out. You can ask your local pantries or a buy nothing group. Some of my favorite small businesses that make amazing low waste and planet friendly cleaning products are oak and willow, common good, rustic strength. A candle company I love is Calyan Wax Co. Their candles are scented with essential oils and phthalate free fragrance oils. I'd be happy to share about personal care brands if you're ever interested!
Also, I'd like to add that your intro was like a warm hug from a close friend, and it was so comforting!

I so appreciate your cleaning, storage tips. One thing that really impressed me was that you store items in plastic containers or totes instead of cardboard boxes in your garage. I have learned my lesson with items in cardboard being ruined by water or bugs. Many of the organizers still advise storing in boxes. They will learn.

Hi Lynn! I have currently been totally obsessed with diy cleaning products. You can find tons of recipes online and you can clean just about anything with water, vinegar, dishsoap, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide and essential oils. I also love ecloths for cleaning with just water. Thought that might help with your asthma. Hope you're feeling better!

We love you Lynn! :) so sorry you guys got sick. Flu B is no joke! I had it last year and same thing-TOTALLY changed the way I ate and smelled things. Hated coffee all of the sudden, which is so weird for me! Glad you guys are on the mend :) Also another great EO company is Plant Therapy!

I love watching your cleaning videos. I do want to say, you need to very careful spraying the Pink, Lyme Away and Spray Way so close together, you are lucky you didn't end up in the hospital. The fumes of those 3 products mixed together can kill you. I used to do that until I got a bronchogenic cysts on my esphogus that almost killed me. The doctor said it was from the fumes of different chemicals mixing as I was cleaning.
Another hint on cleaning the shower, you can use the Clorox Wandie (like the one you clean toilet) to scrub shower.
Got rid of my blinds, hate them!
I use 2cups water 1/4 70% rubbing alcohol and 5drops dawn..for my cleaning business..use on everything..stainless steel windows counters but dry with a cloth to rub out any streaks.. don't use on wood because alcohol will strip it ❤️..

You said you are using less chemucaks to clean so I wanted to offer i clean with vodka. 1-5 parts distilled water. Vinegar 1-3 and i use a solution with castille soap to degrease. I also love borax, baking soda, salt, lemon peals, and colloidal silver

I bought Sprayway window cleaner recently because so many people on youtube rave about it. The smell is really bad and I was not impressed with the product. Took many paper towels to dry the mirror. I am staying with my Windex.

I can't handle SprayAway... that stuff is crazy toxic! Get a Norwex cloth and a Norwex glass cloth - i clean all windows and mirrors with it and just water!
You can use dawn also
What I find extremely interesting is from all the cleaning videos I watch, NO ONE wears gloves to protect their hands!! I find it very strange.
Your videos inspire me to get busy on my own house. ❤ I use a simple mixture of half n half water and vinegar with a few drops of dish soap. I have one bottle of cleaner in my whole house. That's all I use. It works great. And it's super cheap!!

Happy Friday Lynn! Just got the chance to sit down and comment. I too am an asthma sufferer. I try to find alternative products. I use a lot of blue Dawn vinegar and water mixture. Unless I need to disinfect. Then I use Clorox wipes.

1000% natural cleaners vs toxic chemicals - been like this for over a decade. I can’t even walk down the traditional cleaning aisle in the store
I do the blinds like you. Then I found out from my dad his handy trick. He hung hooks on his outside wall.he hangs his blinds, and power washes them on a light wash. Lucky Mom!
I mix citric acid powder in water, 2 tbl in a quart of water, and a few drops of dish soap. Doesn't smell as strong as vinegar. Or for a stronger solution mix half dish soap and half critic acid mixed in water. No odors.
I totally agree with kids having chores and you teaching them and giving them the responsibility of doing their clothes is a good thing all the way around.especially with you having boys. I have 2 boys who are older now but I knew my boys needed to learn that it wasn’t a Womens hob and dished to. Both of my boys work as a team with their wife and fiancé. I had 3 older brothers but my one who’s closest to me didn’t have to do any chores cause he was a boy even though my other brothers had to. I had to make his bed it was that bad so I knew if I had boys they would clean lol. I also am on the same page as your house. We bought a house and even paid a cleaner to come in cause it still needed cleaned and I can’t physically do some of it like the walls baseboard but o my word this is the dirtiest house I have ever moved into. It is taking me since November and I’m still not done. I just want to be done. That why it’s so nice watching your videos I get motivation and my husband and I also had the stomach flu for Christmas Day. It was horrible it took so long for us to feel better. I’m hoping I get done tomorrow with most then I’m taking a week off and then finishing it. It’s horrible.
