A manga with little to no likeable characters creates no comfort zone for the reader and it genuinely feels terrible to go page after page of worse and more depressing darker content.

i haven't read it and whenever I see it in a book store it has a plastic wrap to insure no child would pick it up. I'm in my early teens older then 13 (not gonna specify exactly), and have had no problems reading and hearing about stories such as 20th century boys. (i've read the first 28 chapters) and i am wondering if punpun would be a good read to keep till im older or should i read it know and read it again a bit later on. Say 1 - 3 years.
oh yeah and I've seen a lot of spoilers for berserk and hardly been disturbed, but I do understand that many moment in fiction had build up before the scene. This would make it significantly more impactful and memorable not just a image.
