- If you've been thinking about incorporating a daily sling into your everyday carry loadout, check out my thoughts after using the brand-new redesigned Moment Fanny Sling for an entire month.
2020 has been a year of drastic change, and many of us have found ourselves slimming down our daily loadout because we're mostly working from home. When we do go out, we're usually packing light, and that's where a lightweight sling comes in. I've had some time to fully put the Moment Fanny Sling through its paces and the results have greatly changed how I design and carry my daily loadout.

I've been on the hunt for a nice crossbody bag for the last 3 days and I must say this was probably the most concise and effective passing of information I've come across in the 3 days. I think I have found my bag. Thank you for your assistance
You're gonna love it! Very versatile bag in a small form factor
@@RonKwok it will be here Friday. I'll stop by one of your vids after I try it a while. Thanks again.
This was awesome bro! Please do more reviews on other slings! I’ve been eyeing the AER City Sling!
Glad you enjoyed this one! The AER City looks really clean, I've got some stuff lined up for y'all. Stay tuned and Live with Purpose 🙌
Your vids are insane and the camera quality is also very good nice video remember me when you blow up one day had to subscribe man love your videos 😁🎄🎅and happy Christmas
Thanks a lot man I appreciate you! Happy holidays to you and stay safe out there 🙌
Nice video bro! I’ve been rocking an Osprey day sling but I think it’s time for me to step up my game!
The Osprey doesn't look bad at all! It's almost like a mini backpack with the vertical zip access. I'm sure you'll make whatever you end up choosing work for you and your daily needs 🙌
Great video and very informative! Keep it up!
Thanks Nuggets, always an avid supporter of the channel 🙌
Those front dividers are perfect for camera batteries!
That’s a good call!
Hi ron!, nice review. I just purchased mine last Nov still waiting for the item since I'm from the Philippines. I can't wait to use it. :)
Glad you enjoyed the video, Julius! I'm excited for you to receive your sling and to start carrying 🙌 take care and stay safe!
I can't wait to move to the Philippines!
Good review, and i totally agree with your "opportunities" section. Nice fanny sling pack, BUT....
Glad you enjoyed the breakdown! Yep, it's important to consider both the pros and cons before getting the gear 👌
Just ordered it.
Sweet man! You're gonna be so stoked on it when it arrives 🙌
I’ve been thinking of getting a sling... for some reason I can’t bring myself to buy one haha. Dope video my man!
Btw, just outta curiosity, what do you use to edit your vids?
Haha thanks man!! Yea it's all good, you've gotta be able to justify adding a sling to your arsenal. When the need arises, I'm sure you'll have no problem picking up a dope one.
I edit my vids using Adobe Premiere Pro, and just started editing audio with Audition (hopefully you noticed that this vid sounds better than others haha). Stay safe and Live with Purpose 🙌
Where did you get the watch strap?
did i miss how wide the strap was? I may need to get an extension....
Great video! Would you recommend it for carrying a mirrorless camera?
It can definitely fit a mirrorless and a compact lens like a 20mm f/1.8. Hope that helps 👌
Hey Ron -- appreciate your detailed videos here. Are you still using the Moment Fanny Sling? Looking at this bag and similar ones like the Aer City Sling 2. One question about the ripstop: how has it held up over time? Read a couple folks said it started flaking, which seems odd.
Michael, thanks for watching and I appreciate the support! The Moment Fanny Sling is still in the rotation, holding up nicely, no flaking issues; however, this will go back to how often you use it and what you put it through on a regular basis. More use means more wear and tear. Also, the Aer City Sling 2 is made from more durable Cordura nylon, which explains the $20 difference in price. Either way, I'd recommend assessing what and how you'd use it, and pick the pack that suits you. As a pt of reference, I use mine in grab-on-the-go, light duty, urban situations. Hope that helps, Live with Purpose man!
@@RonKwok "Live with purpose" -- 100% with you and love the reminder. Thanks for the info on the ripstop -- that clears up the biggest hesitation I had about the bag. It sounds like the flaking might be some kind of QC issue.
Looks like it's real close between the City Sling and the Moment Fanny Sling for me right now. The City Sling's style and size is ideal to me for casual daily use. The Moment is just a touch bigger, however I think this size difference will allow for carrying my Fujifilm X-T2 with a shorter lens to go in the bag. So it comes down to how much I care about this type of versatility.
Analysis sounds spot on man. Lemme know which you end up with, would love to hear your thoughts after using it in the field. Cheers!
Damn the quality of the video is frkn mint
Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Great video I subbed! I got a question though - do you think a cropped sensor Fuji X-T1 and a small prime lens attached (Not just the 27mm pancake lens) would fit inside? I don't mind a tight fit as long as it fits the camera and lens attached. Thank you!
I haven't had the chance to personally handle the Fuji X-T1 but looking at its dimensions, the body would definitely fit. Whether or not it'll fit with other small prime lenses will depend on the specific lens you're looking at, and since it's probably going to be a tight fit, your best bet is to check the product page for this sling and make your best judgment:

Very helpful videos, thank you! I’m considering between the ripstop or the black canvas. I think the ripstop will be easier to open and handle because it’s softer, but it seems a bit shapeless and floppy if I have heavy stuff inside. Also, the middle part of the front flap seems to bunch up for the ripstop version (e.g. 3:13) when there are heavy things inside. What do you think of the two?
Glad you enjoy the videos! The ripstop is a thinner material, so it won't be as rigid as the other colorways, but I haven't had any issues with it being floppy. The bag is small enough and built with enough seams/stitching inside where it doesn't sag or deform when you fill it with heavy items. As for the front pocket, that fold you see just above the front zipper is built into every colorway, and will 'pucker' as you see at 3:13 if you fill it with enough stuff.
One thing to note is the ripstop is more durable than the others with its water/tear/puncture resistant fabric. Hope this helps man, take care!
Which one did you end up getting? I was wondering the same about keeping the shape and sagging because I'll be putting a small mirrorless camera in it, maybe the regular fabric is the way to go?
@@fulosophy724 In the end I bought the canvas one. It does keep its shape so I’m happy about that. No issues with zipping and unzipping as the zippers are smooth
Great review. Could it contain a fuji xt3 with a 18-55 lens ?
You'll probably have to separate body and lens to get it into the sling. As another option I would recommend a 5L camera sling that has the benefit of padded dividers, more room, and more protection for your kit on the go. Hope this helps!
Great channel broski
Thanks Vasili I'm glad you enjoy the content!
everything but that buckle looks good
Great review 👍👍 I Wonder if a leica M10 with lens would fit ?
Thank you! Just depends on the lens. Pancake lens, you're good. Anything high profile, you're probably better off with a 5L sling or a camera backpack like the Brevite Jumper. Hope that helps!
@@RonKwok Thanks for reolying. The lens is a summicron 28mm not big and not to small, but I undersdant what you mean. 👍
ok I need that watchband in my life :D Is this buyable somewhere for 22mm watchbands :D I need this for my ticwatch pro 2020
It's DIY! Made it myself with paracord and the Fidlock clasp. Search up 'Fidlock Hook 20 Flat' for the one I used 👌
Great review! The 'blip' sounds were a little jarring though but awesome rundown nonetheless
Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to tweak the audio going forward 🙌🏼
What's the leather skull thingy, it looks like something I need🤷🏻♂️
It's a pouch for a certain elusive pirate coin. Pete's Pirate Life. I can only show you the door. You have to walk through it 😉
Hello, I'm looking for a sling bag for ipad pro 11, I liked the Annex Liner Sacoche from Bell, and the one from Aer Tech Sling2, which do you think is better, and which more can you recommend? Thanks.
Hey there! I like the Aer Tech Sling 2 overall. It keeps its shape even when it's not packed to capacity, and it looks like it'll have room for the Pro 11 and all the accessories you'd need, like a charger, headphones, etc. The Sacoche looks smaller and more low-profile, and I do like the durable X-PAC and contrasting orange interior, but I'd probably choose the Aer. Just double-check the dimensions to ensure it fits the Pro 11 and whatever else you need the sling for. Hope that helps!
@@RonKwok Thanks for answering. Believe me that thanks to you I was able to meet them, and according to research they are the most ideal for iPad Pro 11 "2020. I am looking for something minimalist and both are like that, the only thing that seems to me a lot in the Aer Tech Sling2 is that it has a dedicated compartment for a Mac or ultra book, because the compartment for the iPad Pro 11 "(does not support iPado Pro 12"), has it inside the compartment where it shares all the things inside. However, the compartment of the laptop that faces the body is the one that It is highly protected on the walls and around the edges. The Annex Liner Sacoche only has a dedicated compartment for the iPad Pro 11 # but it is not as protected as the Aer, it is only there inside. What I like about the Annex is that it is metamorphic Since you can expand it according to need, or keep its size, now I do not know how comfortable its strap is, which is thin, I think that while what you wear does not weigh much, it will not bother, however the strap of the Aer is padded. Difficult decision look i saw this t Ambien something more classic but simple and functional Vintage only for iPad and Mac. OUTBACK SOLO CASE.

Ripstop vs the cordura for this fanny sling?
This particular sling is in ripstop. The other colorways in this sling are all recycled Kodra fabric with a double layer of waterproofing worked into it. Hope this helps!
What hoodie are you wearing 👌
The hoodie is from Cuts Clothing! Use the link in description for $25 off your first $100 👌👌
I wonder if this will fit an A7iii camera? Anyone?
Yes, but body only and you won't be able to fit much else, let alone a lens. You're better off going with a sightly bigger camera sling. Hope that helps!
Can this fit an ipad mini 6?
Haven't tested it personally but check the product page for dimensions!
you dont use the lens cap on you 24mm?
Not when the Moment Fanny Sling has microfiber-lined pockets all around! Keeps your glass safe and speeds up your workflow 👌
@@RonKwok how about back cap? to keep it safe from dust etc
Oh there is a back cap on there, I always use that cap to protect the internals from debris 👍
hey, do you think the phone section can fit in iphone14 promax ?
I haven't personally handled the Pro Max! Best thing to do is check dimensions of the Pro Max vs the dimensions in the bag description. If it doesn't fit in the phone section, it for sure will fit in one of the dividers in the main compartment. Cheers!
@@RonKwok Okok,thanks for your reply!
Does it fit a 32oz nalgene?
Did you get sponsored by them
Not sponsored but they did send out the sling for review and I've been collaborating on projects here and there for Moment since!
I just found your channel (1.63K) subs...was just looking for something for my wallet and phone for now because I keep dropping my wallet..
Thanks for the infobbsub added.
Ah nice! A sling is perfect for consolidating your kit and making sure everything stays safe and organized. Thanks for your support 🙌🙌
@@RonKwok I literally want something for my wallet, keys to clip to and possibly phone as well and maybe my dog leash to sit it...anything really inexpensive that you recommend. 70+$ is a bit to much fore
Hey Ryan, search up 'fanny pack' on your favorite search engine or retailer (Amazon.com comes to mind if it's available in your area) and you can find quality packs ranging from $16 to $50 depending on your budget. Since you'll have to determine what works best for yourself, here are a few links to some packs from quality brands:
TNF Bozer II: amzn.to/3sk8UL5
TNF Lumbar: amzn.to/39GBH4f
Osprey Daylite: amzn.to/2LJWkUC
Good luck and happy shopping 👍
@@RonKwok are these your links...if so I'll try and use one when I buy one. If I don't find one through your link I will let you know if I find one so maybe you can add it to your link and I'll use your link.
No worries man! These are paid links so I do get a small commission if you purchase through them, BUT the most important thing to me is you get a sling that you find useful 🙌 use these recommends as a starting point. Cheers!
Camera lens with no lens cap😬
Glass is more resilient than one might think! But yea a bit cringeworthy huh 😬😬
The beeps are bad annoying.
