People may have shared their own uneducated opinions and made you believe that the bands have no purpose in your training regiment. Here is an in depth look at why the bands DO have a place in your workouts.
After years of weights in the gym, I've switched to 100% bands, the results are no more injuries with a definite muscle gain, when I started in the gym years ago I believed the bull crap that bands don't build bulk, knowing what I know now back then... My whole routine would have been band resistance only ... I'm 54 now and I don't listen to any one any more I've learned that from experience , I just look in the mirror after using bands and that is the proof... At 54 walking the Beach girls in there 20s and 30s are turning there heads at me.... I'm not some Romeo looking guy just a guy with a good build.... evidently that's what the girls like.... if I can do it anybody can
Same here ,I'm in my 50's and using bands with callesthenics had totally transformed me, they're the real deal,no question
I had been training with weights for two years, hit a plateau and then the injuries started. I have been trained by 3 personal trainers and the results were the same. So, I started training with bands and... voila, gains again, no injuries. You will need to reset your mind on how to train properly thou. If you train with bands the same way as weights you will notice that your technique will not fit the training. Its fun guys, try something new, just use the same spirit as with weights. You need to search for the proper way to train.

bands are best imo... just have to have good ones and know how to use them.

How did you anchor them on the squat rack?
A lot of squat racks nowadays have anchors. Little rods about 3/4 inch round, about six inches long sticking outside at the bottom of the cage.
