- You don't need a gym to build a muscular v-taper back. Using resistance bands and the right exercises you can get the same results at home as you would in the gym with weights. Honestly, this comment should have been highlighted. It surely helped me a lot. I had to stick with alternative exercises aside to using house properties. I will say it once more, it helped me a lot.
(Note: I had to improvise my resistance bands to using recycled bike tubes)
Couldn't agree more. To think for the longest time I thought bands provided an inferior workout. Could not have been more wrong.

I don't know but for some reason after performing the bent over rows i felt a lot more stress on my lower back rather than my upper back .I also checked my form in the mirror which seemed fine. I still can't find the reason.
I live in a small apartment on the second floor. Having 2000-4000 pounds of weights up here is out of the question. But, resistance bands, yeah... I can do that. I've been using bands for nine months, and I've gained more muscles with them in that time span than I have with weights in the past 43 yrs. I've received more insight from your research on bands that have aided me in my weight training. I appreciate the time you put into you videos, and look forward to seeing more in the future. bands are incredible if you use them the proper way
Im using it for 3weeks and Im getting better result and it get me target specific muscle area easily without loosing the tension. Gotta admit but its really better than weights for me. And most of all i can maintain my workout posture longer without injury than those weights.

Autopuhdistus Clean&Shiny I read his story. He probably should be dead or a quadriplegic but came back stronger than ever. I blew three discs in my back and have two frozen shoulders and I can’t even get my shit together. This guy is my inspiration.
I really love how you make sure to speak slowly and to enunciate clearly, and use no music. It helps a lot when English is not one's native language, more so when learning a lot of new terms. One thing making getting into fitness hard for me as an absolute beginner is not understanding all the jargon yet. And at my age, learning simply is harder than it was when I was 20.
Loved the tip to try an exercise the wrong and right ways first to feel the difference, that will really help in learning all those moves, which for a beginner can be overwhelming.
Also, your style makes it easier for me, as an autist, to stay focused. So, thank you for not rushing, thank you for not being loud, thank you for keeping distraction to a minimum.

I used this workout while on vacation in PR. The gym was under renovation due to damages from Hurricane Maria. It was a great workout. Have been at it since 1982 this dude knows what he's talking about, and he's a hustler.

Just finished re-watching this video and I continue to be impressed with the quality of the teaching and the production quality. Both are first rate. You can watch this video follow the cues that James talks about and have a reasonable expectation of doing the exercises correctly. Just a really a first-rate teaching video.
In the 90's, I just had magazines to look at a few pictures and rad everything. Seeing and hearing everything gives us so much more information.
I've been using bands for years and, until now, it has been tough finding good workout information on them. Your videos are the most informative I've found. Keep up the good work. I appreciate what you are doing.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the little form details. A great refresher for me. For those with a weak door frame put the anchor on the side of the door with the hinges. Pretty common in an apartment.
I revisited this channel about 8 months later of doing consistent band heavy workouts at home. I can honestly say I took most of my inspiration from Grange! Thanks for what you do man, I hope it pays you well.

I've converted 100% to bands and given up barbells, dumbells, etc. save a fortune from gym memberships and save £1,000 in home gym equipment as sold it all.

Great vid as always. I traines with weights an for 3 years now, I train exclusively with bands. I could never get that mind-muscle connection with my back. This was an eyeopener for me. I tried the form and the contractions where so much more intense. Thank you.

Training with bands is fantastic! I've been using the under sun bands and doing your workouts for a few months, it's amazing. I can use better form and get a better workout then I ever did with weights. Finally a fitness plan I enjoy and can stick to. When it's a band you can do anywhere the excuses fall away.
That last clarification about "progressive overload" with bands, about feeling the exercise is everything.... thanks for the video!

Thank you. Very helpful. I didn't think about doing lat pull downs and rows with the circular bands like that and I had a great workout just testing out these methods. Even before the whole pandemic started I was interested in ways to workout at home simply because that can be very convenient and there are no excuses.
Not only am I learning how to have a good resistance band workout at home... I’m even learning transferable skills for when I go back to the gym. Excellent videos!

For me back requires the most focus on mind/muscle connection. Love the example of pinching a hand between the shoulder blades, it's really helped me focus

I believe you have the best and most comprehensive band workout I’ve seen. I’ve always exercised, and at 81 I’m in good shape, but we’re going to Israel in March so I’m working hard at making sure I’m not the one who holds the group back from activities!

I use resistance bands about 90% for upper body. Thanks for the pointers on form, shoulder positioning, etc.
For the bent over rows, it looks like you are straightening your arms at the bottom of the movement’s in order to really emphasize initially pulling at your elbows. These are great! Thanks for making these

Thanks for the great videos. I just turned 40 and have been lifting for 20 years. Now my body just doesn’t respond well to the free weights. Switching over to the bands has been great for my joints and overall wear and tear on my body. Just ordered your gloves and looking forward to trying them out. I still go pretty heavy on the tension and the bands can be rough on the hands. Keep up the great videos. Thanks
Your tips on form are just fantastic. Honestly, it feels like in every one of your videos I have at least one "Oh my God, WTF" moment. In which I realize why I was struggling with a certain movement or muscle just because my form was (sometimes just slightly) off.
