This is so true. As goofy and unrefined this game is, it’s the only game I could imagine getting invested enough into to play competitively for this reason.
In my opinion, the lack of polish gives it some more charm. Maybe it’s just the fact that these days, I’ve come to associate good graphics with shitty big-name companies, but to me if a game has good mechanics and bad graphics that shows me they don’t mind if the game doesn’t look beautiful, they’re trying to make it an actually fun game.
Intruder is simultaneously the game where you use hand signals to coordinate the non-lethal takedown of a target with flash bangs and beanbags and the game where you can die to sliding off a cliff on a banana peel.
and then proceed to bana peal bomb the map for more fun
This is such a fun game to watch. You can have super serious infiltrations, or complete meme rounds where you goof off with banana peels.
Now this is the special forces that we all rely on.

Well, if you're going to compete with games like Rainbow Six (i know they're not exactly the same but similar enough) you can't release a game that's this rough around the edges
That can kinda be blamed on the devs being reluctant to put the game on steam, from 2015-2019 the game didn't change much, and a lot of the interest from the small community was waning by the time they did finally move it to a larger platform

Exactly what I thought. Lots of people are familiar with niner but not so much with tree, fower, and fife.
Still, I don't think it was meant to be correct radio comm protocol in this case, just a happy accident.
Won, too, tree, fower, fife, six, se-ven, ate, niner, zee-ro. Super useful in military radio, but try using it in casual conversation and you're only going to confuse people.

Fun fact: in a (US) military context, when reading off numbers over a radio, you actually are supposed to say "tree" for the number 3. ("Fife" for 5, "niner" for 9)

The rate of fire is slower so it does more damage because of balance.
Style.
Cheaper, lighter, easier to design and manufacture. Bolt-actions have the potential to be more accurate than semi-autos, but generally not with anything that would be a practical gun, that's like unlimited-class benchrest competition stuff.
For that matter, a bolt-action isn't necessarily any more accurate than most other manually-operated repeaters, like lever-actions, falling-blocks, and rolling-blocks. You could make an argument for bolt-action strikers versus hammer-fired guns but that's a seriously complex argument over what's ultimately a tiny detail with no real practical difference.
Mainly just cheaper and easier to make lol. *Far* simpler to go 'ok, here's the breech. Here's a bunch of heavy metal that won't move and a gap to lock it in place, as well as a lever to move it out of the way by hand' than it is to make something that automatically resets and feeds with each trigger pull.

We can agree on something. The word is "Three" not tree. I get that's not how it's spelled or pronounced but come-on if you can say rise up lights without saying Razer Blades, or Purple Burgler Alarm in your own accent. The accent has failed you, you didn't fail at it. You can human better, not everyone has the luxury of just simply choosing to speak with a different accent but come on people.

'Three' or 'Tree' it doesn't really matter. You'll still be understood. The only thing I have an issue with is changing how a language is spelled for no reason other than national identity/to fit accents. Then I take issue with it.
