For anyone interested in playing the mod, there have been several improvements just in the past few weeks alone, if the version in the video looks a little barebones, its about a month old.
New features include:
-New rifles, including scoped Moritas, iron sight Moritas, and red dot E-pulse rifles for the private class, as well as LMG Moritas for the new LMG class
-Vehicle spawns, including but not limited to tanks, IFVs, helicopters, and AA trucks
-Optimization
-New emplaced weapons
-New maps
-Flares for squad leaders
-New auto turrets for the engineer class (machineguns and flamethrowers)
Mod receives regular updates, so feel free to join in and check out the new features yourselves

i remember playing the Bugs module by loki is that mod dead now? did someone else pick it up? haven't played squad in a couple years.
There is no better way to sing the EDF anthem than mildly out of sync whilst firing at a horde of bugs.
They made a Starship Troopers mod for squad??! This is going to be a good one. The only good bug is a dead bug I guess.

it's an old mod that got fucked up by the changes to the game like two years ago, I'm so glad to see it back
It's been around for longer than the Star Wars mod. I'd love to play it, but it's been so many years and the Squad devs still haven't fixed the infinite loading screen bug on modded servers... I'm sick of having to clead cache and redo keybinds every day

I could never get those guys to survive showing the first eldar hideout, they just got immediately swiss-cheesed by rangers and guardians

I think one of the best parts of this is the multi-cultural element that Rimmy and his Cadian group bring. It's so unique but to here Aussie, English and American accents makes it feel all so much more real as the Terran Armed Forces is pulled from all over the world. Australians and Canadians making special mention in the novel.

Starship Troopers is one of those franchises where you have to specify if you mean the movie or book, because other than a name they've got basically nothing in common. (Seriously the movie is a Vietnam alagory, the book basically invented the concept of power armored infantry, personal shields, multi-species democracy, and was credited as one of the inspirations for both Warhammer 40k and Halo).
That's because the director of Starship troopers made a completely different movie and at the last minute they slapped the Starship Troopers name on It and changed some character names. All the differences between the two can be explained by that, It explains why the movie Federation Is fascists' but the book Federation Is a limited suffrage Republic. It's why the movies completely failed as satire of the book, because they have nothing to do with the book.

Starting a Starship Troopers video with the EDF song is just (chef's kiss).
Now that I think about it, the Imperial Guard, the EDF and the Mobile Infantry form this little trifecta of popular "self-sacrifice and service for Earth against endless hordes of aliens" military organizations. EDF has their anthem, and the Mobile Infantry have "It's a good day to die", so hopefully the Imperial Guard have their own song to match.

@@bobyork6248 That was my first thought of course (I've seen the Fustercluck and heard the full song), but the distinction is that Cadian Blood isn't canon (as I understand it), while the other 2 officially exist within their respective universes.

@@cameronmays480 I don't know about the Colonial Marines, but I feel the UNSC Marines often don't have that high-spirited gung ho craziness about them. Not exactly sure how to describe it.
The Imperial Guard and Mobile Infantry are highly indoctrinated to charge to their deaths with ferocity, and the EDF is also ridiculously upbeat if their song is any indication. The UNSC do pretty much the same thing, but their morale and attitudes seem more grounded and realistic.

Props to the mod authors! No disrespect intended, but watching this just makes me wish the multiplayer still worked for Starship Troopers (2005)
I appreciate Rimmy's playstyle. He is truly an officer. If he needs to be pulling triggers the you know they are really in the shit. He is far more efficient controlling the battlefield by deploying heavy weapons and directing his forces. If he does his job well nobody else needs to worry about the big picture.
They literally have Rogal Dorn with them, their defense should not fail.
