That mana base is Hella disappointing
Like pretty much always
It really has to be unfortunately but normally slivers auto correct mana fairly easily
We're paying double price for essentially no value gain. The new cards will be expensive cause the decks are expensive, and that's about it. The deck at least looks very playable (outside of the God awful lands), but double price to make competent decks is not a fair trade.
It definitely doesn't have to be. There is literally no reason other than mtg finance and the secondary market to not at least go for the battle bond lands and fetchable trilands.
What did you expect a cavern of souls and mana confluence
It is wild how expensive this deck is considering the deck list especially that land base.
I can't believe how shitty it is lol
Yeah the land base alone is going to require at least $150 upgrade.. and thats not including the Sliver Land. Other than the new cards. This deck brings nothing to the table.
I agree. It's a pretty bad mana base.
@@DerekdaDude91 It is the same mana base as their 45$ commander decks (which already are kind of cheap for the 45$ decks) but this one is selling for 140+ dollars.
a lot of the cost is new cards whose price is nowhere near stable. after release the cards will drop in price, the new cards will still show up in collector and set boosters as well as people who will sell cards from the precons, as well as hype dying down. most of those new 30 dollar cards will drop to sub 10 dollars.
Im usually not too hard on the precons and overall think they do a good job on them, but this looks a little disappointing especially when its pre selling for over 100 dollars.
Yeah because they missed out on some essential cards like Sliver Hivelord and the pre-built mana base of the deck is no better than the standard 40 dollar precons. There isn't much value added really that differentiates it from the normal priced ones. But the prices are also spiking right now due to scalpers, which will probably drop over time now.
Nowadays I've learned to just wait until after the sets and precons come out
Last year & the year before they had some really great precon sets. 2021, AFR, Baldur's Gate, 40k, brother's War, etc. They baited us into thinking they were saving the good stuff for this year in a double the price precon product. We got fucking played bois.
@@malmasterson3890 I mean even the commander set isn't living up to the hype.
@@anima132000 Hiverlord is in the deck, you mean the first sliver or overlord?
It’s strange to me they didn’t reprint the sliver specific land in this precon. But MAN IS THAT ALT COMMANDER BADASSS!!!!
This deck should be priced as the regular precon ones
Looks good but not 100+ dollars worth
It’s weird that they only do a good job on the universe beyond precons
idk the abzan precon from new phyrexia plays better than some universes beyond precons
@@joplin4434 To be fair the UB decks have all been consistently good, though you're not wrong about the Abzan Phyrexia deck, in fact both it and the Boros deck pretty solid out of the box. The group I play with are commander primarily, we draft sometimes and we also have a pre-con only with no upgrades night, you don't hear anyone complaining if they get either of those decks, there wasn't much value in both decks but they do play well.
the landbase is abysmal... how the hell do they want to justify those prices
Ikr!! At that price youd expect a mana base better than the Painbow Precon
@@CromwellMTGi had them on preorder. Not anymore. For those prices I'll just get the few cards i might need.
It's pretty clear they are hoping the new cards help justify the price tag for these precons. The manabase is disappointing and for the price they are charging for that precon. It should have had either First Sliver or Sliver Overlord.
I feel like this deck should have had either a legion and coat of arms or like ways to create infinite sliver stuff like you could with queen to support rukarumel. Training grounds/intruder alarm shenanigans
This deck would honestly be pretty great as a 45$ deck. Too bad it's practically twice that. I even have an employee discount from the retailer I'm getting it from, pre-ordered it DAY 1 HOUR 1, and even with that each of these decks cost me 60$. This deck is definitely not worth that.
I mean you can resell it for twice what you bought it for so you have that going for you.
@BosSoxFan15 Nah, I'm just gonna regift the ones I don't want to a friend. Saves me some holiday shopping. I don't envy anyone who wants this deck& has to pay the current price though.
$60 would have been great. I paid $100 and am reallllllllllllly thinking about getting a refund.
Tomer is the Biologist an Amazing Tribal Tribal Commander
Definitely the most flaorful tribal tribal commander, but ur-dragon is probably still better. Reducing the costs of your changelings is probably better than having arcane adaptation on an inefficient body
The new cards are strong but this decklist is VERY disappointing for the price.
I’m pretty sad they didn’t reprint Muscle Sliver and Plated Sliver, or even Predatory Sliver with new (non-Shandalar/non-humanoid) art.
$80 deck. No triomes, got that Ash Barrens tho.
Not sure if tomer misread Rukarumel but you dont have to choose another tribe to slot into the deck. You just choose slivers, then any creature you cast is also a sliver in addition to its other types and gets the synergies of your other slivers
Could go elves as well. Either choose elves, and every sliver works with the lords and other elvish bs like lots of mana production or overruns with ezuri. Or do the reverse and every main deck elf now flies, has haste, indestructible, etc. Both are good and disgusting in their own ways.
@@Draco9909
Or pick druid, for Guilt-Leaf Archdruid fun.
@@C00kiesAplenty Who hurt you?
It's a card for not to be in a only sliver deck, it's for the sliver stats in other tribes. That must be in the commander masters boxes, not in the precon, but will make tribals of 5 colors with slivers on them
@@LuuXorD it is in the precon but I see what you mean putting it in other tri al decks to get sliver synergies with that tribe. I just don't know if it's worth throwing this and a bunch of slivers in your dragon deck or hydra deck lol. Plus she makes sliver tokens so it really seems like a sliver commander that lets you put other creatures in and make them into slivers.
Honestly, this is possibly the worst slither deck you could make, where are the rest of the decent slithers, and the mana base is disappointing
I wonder if a lot of Panorama lands and a few more basics in place of the slow fetches and some of the 3-color lands would make this faster without adding more cost. Also there must be some sets of cool cheap creature/expensive creature pairs in less common tribes that could really break Descendant's Fury by making the cheap creature only able to find the expensive creature. Need to draw them in the right order though. Cascade might help do that without tutors.
Rukarumel is probably the most interesting one here since she can create a nasty win-con with Realmbreaker. Name Praetor as the creature type and build up the mana to ramp for the sacrifice cost of Realmbreaker and presto you've summoned your entire Sliver deck at instant speed LOL.
Tomer has finally made his dream come true and became Kaldra Compleat! Congratz, To... I mean, Kaldra!
Regal Sliver is more than just efficient when you Encore it! for 4 mana, it makes you the monarch, pumps all of your slivers by +8/+8, and adds 33 hasty power to the board!
I just noticed that "Descendants' Fury" is one or more deal damage to A player meaning that you can sacrifice all of your encore slivers (if they all hit) and get the next three slivers from your deck. The card is bonkers
It says to sacrifice one tho doesn't that mean you can only activate the sacrifice effect the one time regardless of how many you swing with?
@@xanafein8453 it reads like once per player kind of like (Firkraag Cunning Instigator) but on damage instead of attack. Or similar to (Anowon, The Ruin Thief). These trigger once per player attacked/damaged.
If it only triggered once it would say players instead of player, like (Contaminant Grafter)
(Feline Sovereign), (Grim Hireling) & (Feywild Visitor) are other examples of similarly worded effects
Is the alt commander a Riptide Laboratory researcher?? That'd be so cool!
So her research journal is quoted heavily on the time spiral slivers and it's assumed but not confirmed by any official media that she's a riptide researcher.
I was expecting the triomes and Sliver Hive... Not sure I love the price tag of these decks. Also, not another sliver commander reprint? Not the Queen, also the Overlord might tank if reprint in a precon... but Sliver Legion, Hivelord or even Morophon would've been good options.
Hivelord is in the deck and morophon is in the main set as a mythic so it was obviously not going to be in the precon
That replicate sliver is bonkers
Just a quick rules question. Is Sliver Gravemother's ability a targeted ability? Is it shut down by Ground Seal. Or is Encore a recast and the creatures are protected by ground seal?
I was expecting a better deck, BUT if you are going to build a sliver deck anyway and you can get this for 100 or under I think it will stil save you some money compared to getting singles
Can I get an encore? Do you want more!?
Considering they went out of the way to give her that legend rule text its really weird the only other legendary sliver in the deck is Overlord, who is indestructible.
Also how is the land base missing Hive? Even the Ur-Dragons trash mana base included the dragon lands.
If this was the same price as the normal commander decks id call it passible, a good intro to a sliver deck with some cool new designs and gets you most of whatbyou need. But these are preordering for the same price as the 40k decks. Premium price and they didnt even reprint one of the high value legends that they CAN print. Nor did they manage to give it a decent mana base.
Like i said, lots of cool new designs but this deck is, wild considering the price point.
I shall encore the first sliver cast a giant sliver now just watch this stack get wild….
I'm not that bothered about the quality of the deck, but two of the new cards bugged me - for different reasons.
First, why did they make the goad sliver blue? Of the ~50 goad cards that already exist, there are only about 10 that are Blue and half of those are UR or URx. I always felt like a Sliver embodied the primary colour a mechanic was in.
Secondly, from a petty Vorthos perspective - Littjara shapeshifters have changeling. Even realmwalker who cares about one particular creature type simply names it.
Also why is there a lazotep sliver??? Just whats happened to amonkhet while we were away??
If any of these slivers come to arena I'll have an aneurysm
Well you won't have to worry, because this set is not supposed to actually be in arena.
@@RMTM09 you never know what they'll put in the historic anthologies
Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't this turn into a tribal-tribal deck with Rukarumel?...!
When will you be doing a deck upgrade
If the eldrazi one sucks im canceling it
Does Sundial work with Encore? You skip your end step, yes, but encore is 'the next end step' which would then trigger on the next opponent's end step instead. So you'd keep the bonus around for one more turn but not for one full go around the table.
I believe you can end the turn with the encore trigger on the stack
@@Ferreira0PH ^This. To clarify, Encore creates a delayed trigger effect that goes on the stack at the beginning of the next end step. If you wait until the end step and end the turn in response to the delayed trigger, the tokens stay for good.
You go to the next endstep, put the triggered ability on the stack, then you exile the stack with sundial of the infinite.
I have every sliver card but idk if I should buy this precon or just buy the new cards as singles…I just know this specific item will be insanely expensive
I'd realy hope they print more MAY exile effects, that one wont make it for me.
If I'm reading Rukarumel right, she is an Arcane Adaptation for ALL your nontoken creatures, but what comes to token creatures, she only "adapts" sliver tokens? I quess they made it weird so that she's not too strong with Turntimber Ranger or Dragon Tempest or similar.
I think it's supposed to be like "any nontoken creature you control becomes a sliver in addition to it's other types" so you don't have to fill your deck with all slivers but you still get the tribal synergies of slivers
Slivers and allies. Sliver allies. Static abilities plus strong etbs. Go ham.
Can you respond to the encore end step trigger by phasing out your tokens and keep them forever like with the sundial?
Unfortunately not, I thought this as well, example : tefaris protection. They would phase out and still be there after they come back when your turn ends. They will dissappear on the NEXT end step, so your next opponents end step They have to dissappear. A judge told me "they" (the sliver token coppies) basically have to WITNESS the end step being skipped to stay on the board from then on. So use sundial in response to the end step sacrifice trigger.
@@xenodarsh3475 I see, but the tokens would come back at the beginning of your next turn and stay there until the end of that turn, right? Still a viable option
YES! I suppose its still a viable option and perhaps that particular interaction would buy you another turn with them? But to make them permanent you need to SKIP the end phase right when you would sacrifice them to make them permanent. Sundial is one of those artifacts that would do this but there are other cards.... like only mabey 2 total.
I might catch myself single-purchasing that Replicate sliver...if it stays under $20.
Honestly if the singles aren't too bad I'll just get the new cards, these decks are being hugely overvalued for no reason. I love the Lazotep Sliver especially, kind of wish it was legendary XD.
קניתי ב-80 דולר,
מתלבט אם לוותר ולהשיג קלפים ספציפיים כי כבר יש לי קומנדר סליבר
Strong start from wotc, today…… lol.
How long has Tomer been an alternate art for Kaldra Compleat?
Is that a plush Tiamat behind you?
Lets goo
How the hell does the contents of this deck justify the increased price of the pre-con??!?
So if you encore The First Sliver does each sliver cascade multiple times?
yeah they'd have Cascade, Cascade, Cascade...
i see.
And each sliver you cascade into has cascade, cascade, cascade. We be turning the table into a giant pyramid solitair game to figure out whos cascading where.
For the selling price, this deck is ass. That mana abse and lack of important slivers makes deck insulting to the consumer.
Excited for regal sliver in legacy slivers.
The maths: If you have Sliver Gravemother, a Horned Sliver and 3x 1/1 sliver tokens in play, then you encore Sliver Legion against 3 opponents, you will have:
6+2+3*1+3*7+8*7*3 = 200 Trample Damage.
I saw a lot of complaints about cards that weren't included like the Fitst Slivwr, but after seeing hatchery sliver I understand at least why they didn't include first sliver. R3plicating a first sliver or mid to high cmc sliver is going to create and INSANE amount of advantage. Every copy created with replicate will also cascade
That's not how cascade works.
Can’t wait to see all the decks
Just a quick note: at 12:12 the knight commanders name is Jabari, Sidar is just his title, it means something like General, afaik :)
Ok but Tribal Tribal?
The fact that LGS supposedly pay over 55 per deck is astounding. This deck is pretty bad so niche that purchasing at these high prices feels like such a ripoff.
Shits going for $140 on tcgplayer- man this isn’t worth it at $80, let alone that
Sucks too because those new arts and all 10 of the new cards are good or amazing
I would still rather use sliver overlord ask my commander lol
I don't think Sundial of the Infinite makes then permanent because the wording is the next End Step, so presumably it will trigger the next time an End Step occurs, usually an opponents turn
If you wait until your end step, the encore trigger goes on the stack and then you activate the sundial in response to end the turn and the trigger doesn't resolve but it still happened. You keep the tokens permanently.
Tapped land tribal
I just want to name Minotaur with Rukarumel for Didgeridoo...
The land base does suck. But people are strongly overreacting to that ignoring the value actually in this deck and when it sells out and people are happy they bought it now compared to those who didn't welp it's history repeating it self to people who don't see past the negativity.
Totally agree. The response this is getting is insane. There is definite value in this deck and when all the dust settles people will realize that the deck is worth quite a bit, even if that value doesn't come from the mana base
This deck and the new cards look awesome; Rule 0 will never be the same after these precons.
Wow this deck sucks!! Its mana base is somehow worse than the Painbow mana base and that alt commander is beyond disappointing
Def not worth it unless you want the new art and commanders.
For the Ancestors is pretty mid. Using a hypergeometric calculator, with only 30 of the creature, you'd have a 58.5% chance to draw 2 cards...which is bad. With 40, you'd have a 77.5% chance which is better but not great considering 2 is the worst case scenario. You only have a 45.6% chance of drawing 3! Yes, you can use it with topdeck manipulation, or you could...just play a better card draw card (heck, just play Collected Company over this, and that card ain't that great in EDH either). You're in green, and the fact that this pretty bad card is selling for $30+ is absurd.
Have you seen the prices of these decks?
They have lost the plot. It’s gotten ridiculous
Man everyone is overreacting. Yes, mana base is bad (like every precon) but there is definitely value here. People saying it's worse than the normal $45 precons is crazy.
it's not better than the stronger normal precons. This looks worse than the Knights MOM deck and the abzan invasion of new phyrexia decks that costed half.
Several of the "good" cards like horn are even included in the knights deck lol
Looks great for a 40$ precon...oh wait
As a sliver player since I started playing magic over 10 years ago, this deck is just dissapointing.
So glad I didn’t buy this. I’ll just buy the 10 new singles. 😂
Whover put tgis deck list together sgould literally be fired. Horrible HORRIBLE precon for the current price.
This is honestly a baffling failure on behalf of WotC! How do they think 100+ is an "ok" price for this pile of garbage?! 2-3 of the new slivers look interesting. Rest are reprints. One high value sliver (hivelord). Landbase a freaking joke! Not even one triome or commander land. So many tapped lands. I'm happy I didn't pre-order.
I'm not saying the deck isn't disappointing but hivelord isn't the only value card. Quite a few of the older slivers cost money
Glad I didn’t preorder
UGH. Slivers are so boring.
LOL what is this trash?? $130+ for a precon full of penny slivers and one premium reprint on hive lord? 21 tap lands??!!! only 11 basics so tangos will never come untapped?!!!
no wonder why they put every haste sliver on this deck it is hella slow and almost straight up unplayable!
honestly, this sliver deck is bad. get ready for the spike of all the good slivers not reprinted.... "laughs in already having a sliver deck"
Just reprint and change the art of those ugly bipedal slivers.
They actually did exactly that, all of the slivers in the precon have printings of what the original slivers looked like.
"impulse draw" is the worst name ever, I have coined "quick draw," please popularize this and you can take credit for the coining.
Almost all things in magic are named after original magic cards which did them. So impulse/impulsive draw makes complete sense.
"Quick draw" doesn't really make sense, since speed has nothing to do with it. What's unique about it is how the draw is temporary. I'd recommend you find a nice word/phrase that refers to it being temporary if you want to rename it.
