- Derek Doernbach, South Jersey's Realtor to the Stars loves selling Real Estate but did you know he is a HUGE Elvis Presley fan as well? In fact, he named his daughter after Elvis. Bill Cherry is one of the top ETA's in the country. One of Derek's friends and clients, Dan Jost was a guitarist during the Legends in Concert series at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City in the summer of 2021 and Derek stopped out to see him and his amazing guitar skills. Derek Doernbach had the pleasure of speaking to Bill Cherry after the show. Here is what he had to say....
"Bill is one of the most nicest and authentic guys that I ever met. He didn't have to talk to me, but he did for almost 20 minutes. Bill Cherry eats, sleeps and breaths Elvis Presley and he looks the part, plays the part and talks the part. For a minute, I thought I was at a LIVE Elvis Presley concert in the 70's and I was shaking from excitement. Whew, if you can do that to a grown man, imagine what he does to the ladies!"
Derek gave Bill his business card and asked if he could interview him one day. Not sure if that would happen but he would like to get to know him more on a personal level as the man and not the entertainer, similar to how some people in Elvis Presley's inner circle knew him. It was a special night as it was my second time coming to this concert. Although Derek didn't meet him the first time he went to the show a few weeks earlier, that night was even more special because he did a daddy / daughter date night with his 11 year old daughter, isabella Presley and it was their first concert together.
This show was 5-Stars ALL THE WAY!
He sings,look, sounds and acts like Elvis! UNBELIEVABLE!
TREMENDOUS! I saw Elvis live 3 times. Bill Cherry is "THE BEST" that I've seen and heard to bring back the true goose-bump-raising experience of seeing Elvis live. Bill Cherry is incredible! Has the voice. Has the looks. Has the moves. Has Elvis' charm and wit. Bill Cherry is the ETA King! THANK YOU Mr. Cherry!

I was blown away the way Bill Cherry looks like, sounds like, moves like and even jokes like Elvis. I saw Elvis twice in concert in the 70's, and watching Bill Cherry performed like Elvis was like seeing Elvis in person so many years later. The band, backup singers and dancers were also awesome. An awesome show to see.

I would never go to an "impersonator" show. They reach for something that is not attainable, the world does not need another E. Check out Bouke, he stands in Bouke shoes. No wigs, no suits, no fake. He belongs to the Netherlands, he is "theirs", we had one Elvis and don't need another, especially the fakers.
Bill Cherry is excellent as Elvis. It is like the spirit of Elvis moves through him in his heart, soul and in his voice. I definitely want to see him perform next time he is in Atlantic City. A terrific dancer and entertainer
Mannerisms are everything when it comes to impersonation of Elvis. This dude has it down.
He doesn't break character in between songs which takes that extra effort but, is appreciated.
This guy is amazing! Elvis is my 8th cousin and I have always always loved him! He is better than any other impersonator out there! The whole package!
You need to listen to Bouke and not impersonators. Bouke is not an impersonator, he is Bouke, stands i n his own shoes, sells out the Ziggo in Amsterdam, all because he is Bouke and it seats 88k or more.. His voice is natural and all Bouke. No wigs, suits, fake sideburns, none of that is for Bouke. He is a huge success in the Netherlands. His music was alive before he ever sang an elvis song. He learned it because his fans asked him to. He does not want to be elvis, impress the world "as elvis", he will prob never do a U.S. tour till his young sons are grown, if then. He does not need to be elvis. He loves his fans and success in the Netherlands, that's all he ever said he needed, that, and his sons. These impersonators should hang up their "towels" they use as scarves.

It's all the little nuances not being over done or exaggerated combined with the similarities (including the vocal talent) that make Mr. Cherry one of the best performers I've seen & heard. Obviously, it's an imitation of the persona BUT for someone who isn't actually Elvis Presley, he sure channels the dude naturally.

In my book Bill Cherry is probably the best recreation of Elvis in his tribute shows, voice, mannerisms, movements on stage,and I think it's basically because he truely loves his job, the joy the real Elvis gave everyone, why he wasn't voted as Americans best impersonator of Elvis is beyond me. Just as The FAB FOUR is the best Beatles .

I think this guy is more than amazing. Over a 35 period, I've seen many Elvis impersonators in Vegas, Reno, elsewhere. This guy has more charisma than any of 'em. He is a dead ringer. The best. I'll bet Bill does a great act as himself too!

@@bonnierusie9631 I'll bet he is hot as hell as himself! I knew Joe Guercio pretty well. He booked me mulitiple times at Arizona Charlie's, in Vegas and other places. I'm not an Elvis impersonator, but I do appreciate them and when I was booked all over, I would see them. Bill is tops! But he has more charisma and is better looking than even the original Elvis, in my humble opinion. And I'm a big Elvis fan. Now I'm a big Bill Cherry fan.
He’s so natural in this role. Nothing forced…just slides right into being Elvis. Everything, EVERYTHING is perfection if you want to see something as close to Elvis as possible while still being alive!

The funeral of Elvis took place on my 12th birthday. I so remember those few days. It was so sad and in lots of ways unreal. The world had never seen anything like the outpouring of emotion and grief for any other famous person at that time.
Its so sad that Elvis never "got the chance" to tour the UK. I know there are lots of "STORIES" out there and the "goings on" with Col. Parker and we all have our own opinions but if Elvis had come he would have loved it here and i can only say his buddy Tom Jones would have shown Elvis "A GOOD TIME".
