I have 2017grand i10 petrol car. For the past one year I've been using 10w40 fully synthetic oil (Valvoline), instead of 5w30 which is compny recommended. My experience with 10w40 has been fantastic as milage has improved with smoother driveability.

You should drain and change oil.. mixing two oils will have I'll effects..

hello i have swift petrol 2012 model i use 5w 30 and also recommended in booklet...can i use 5w 40 will it be better or improve performance or should i stay to 5w30.
Its not required simple..
It will just add to cost without adding significant difference in performance..
Can't say about performance..but if your car runs a lot day then 5w- 40 will be better and try to use fully synthetic or altleast semi synthetic original of genuine company for the long life of engine ..it will make less sludge in your engine and protect your engine parts..and if your car run a lot keeping checking the engine oil level ..

I am from Pakistan. Temperature ranges here in between 2 to 47 for winters and summers (extreme ranges). Average temperature remains in between 15-40. I am using new alto 660cc. Daily millage is 70km. How would be 5w-30 semi synthetic oil for it?
I think this oil is too thin.. let me know the recommended grade from Company..

Go for 5w30..if you want to try a better grade then 0w40 will also suit.

5w30 Is fair enough, still if you want to pay for some extra performance in upper and lower range temperature and get some miles on Service schedule then you can go for it

Although 0w20 is fully synthetic or super synthetic oil.Will be costlier.

Sirjee beautiful detailing of oils. I have aTata NANO CX of 2011. The manual advices changing of oil after a year irrespective of usage. Do all the types of oil as mentioned by you need to be changed or otherwise also will do?
Being a 2 cylinder car you should consider changing oil not more then 5000 kms and once a year is must either your cars runs 5 k or not.. also for longer engine and component life you should always go for a synthetic grade.. which will help you keep engine friction and temperature under suggested limits..

But i take 2 trips in a yr wher , mi car each time runs 4000 to 5000 kms in 15 days on highway. then some 200 kms 10 11 trips in a day. Pls recommend me which synthetic oil i should use. thaking u in anticipation. at present mi car completed 80000 kms.

Best grade categorised is 0W 20..
You can also go for other grades but then you will have to service earlier with replacing oil filter .. I will not suggest in your case..

It Has done about 175000 kms I have been using 5w-30 semi synthetic as recommended by the manufacturer do you think I can start using 0w-30 or 0w-20 instead, as my car has done 175000 kms. Daily routine usage is not more than 100 kms in average. You reply will be highly appreciated.

@Car Value Services sir, my ritz 2lkh km run. Has black smoke in high revs. Pick up is fine but on 2nd if pulled then it doesn't run as smooth as before. Same with other gears at high revs. I feel like something is holding back the power and black smoke. Checked injector- it's ok. Pls suggest?

issue is after long distance use say 350km non stop engine in summer sound becomes highly vocal like old gen diesel engines and mileage drops to 17kmpl is quite concerned for me. In short distances or in winter no such issue at all.
Auth service dealer use Indianoil Servo 0W20 ACEA C5 oil costing Rs 1700 for 5L pack written for high performance new generation diesel bsVI engines.
Mannual recomends engine oil 0w20 ACEA C5, C3 or C2 .

Two options you have, in your case I will suggest you to go with synthetic oil ACEA 5W30 A5B5

Completely drain engine oil and refill with same grade, if you don't know previous used grade.. use engine flush and replace oil

U can go for Semi and fully synthetic oils.
5W40 is a better grade.
Apart from it there is no harm in experiencing both grades yourself.

Alto 800 2015, Gujarat in summer normal temp. is 40*c, local mechanic suggesting 20w40, is it good??? Pls reply

I own Hyundai Xcent 1.2 petrol 2016 model, at 73000kms i serviced car and gomechanic change the oil to 5w40, last two service done using 5w40 oil. Recently i seen manual and it recommends 5w30. Now i am going to service car at 93000kms. Should i go for 5w30 or 5w40???? Pls suggest.
Both will work but you must use what is recommended.. 5w30 will be little cheaper that's it.. although 5w40 will work for a larger range..
@@CarValueServices price is not a factor sir, as I have used 5w40, is using 5w40 good or need to change to 5w30 for engine protection.

Dono badiya hai, 5w 30- 10 w40 se jyada smooth rahega.. magar costly bhi hoga
