In the game she actually has a line of saying her own name without the u at the end and in that case the canon is Dimitresc(u) with a silent u at the end. Ergo Dimitresk... I called her Dimitrescu until i heard her say something like "you will never leave the Dimitresk castle" where she clearly says her own name without the u. Who am i to question how she says her own name? The same way we can call each other Carl/Carlo/Karl/Charles/Károly etc whatever, but i'm actually Kárl, because that is what i prefer, but i write it differently. When someone tells me their name i don't ask what country are you from and how they pronounce your name, i just try to say what they say. I think its more disrespectful if you directly say someones name differently than how they pronounce it despite the fact that they just told you. If the actress pronunciation was wrong that is still canon, because that's in the game.

The character dating all lines up as well. The primary antagonist in the game started creating the minor-antagonists after their daughter died from the spanish flu which went from 1918-1920. Lady Dimitrescu adorning wear from fanciful and higher class women of the 30's would most definitely be because she was growing up in the 10's and 20's and settled into her immortal-ish villainous role in the late 1920's-early 1930's. That's her wear because that's what she thought was the pinnacle of class when she was a normal woman.

"the simp-friendliness of her character"; Madam, I have never heard a more flawless descriptor for such a case as this one. I most profoundly commend you for it. Edit: ok, wow, at least my comments blow up even if my videos don’t 😂
The flowers on Lady D's dress are actually there to represent her daughters! She has three black flowers close to her heart to symbolize how much she loves her three goth kids lol
When you were talking about 1930’s skinny Hollywood women, I shouted “BUT MAE WEST”, but then you brought her up. Thank you for giving her some shine 💕
I think the Mae West connection interesting in the speaking and mannerisms and the relationship to the dress very Meta: she's dressed in the 30s idea of Edwardian clothes.
I'm a straight woman but there are some women if I see them walking past me I'm like "daaaaaaamn". Cuz some women have a really fire body or they have a really cool style. And I feel like lady Demetrescu is like one of those women, cuz she has such a confident yet sinister smile with pearly white teeth, the thickest yet elegant body you can imagine... And she has an interesting style since that type of wear is not regular today.
You're probably not going to like Elizabeth Bathory either. Another inspiration for Lady Dimitrescu. Bathory will torture, kill you and then bathe in your blood.
It's so weird because English is my native language and I studied French for 7 years but can only functionally speak French when I'm deliriously tired. I once accidentally wrote half an exam essay in French (not for a French class) after cramming all night. At the end I just wrote "I'm sorry if you don't understand French. I tried to translate back into English but my brain isn't working."
@@frankiemillcarek6976 English is my second language and when writing essays I have to google translate a word or two back to Swedish so I can continue writing. This gets worse when I’m tired so I get what you mean lol

I feel like there is not too much things to talk about? I feel like most of the historical clothinI in games is bad. I still have nightmares because of Assasin's Creed's take on 18th century France.
It's definitely supposed to be said as "Oh-Mahje" though I have heard the other pronunciation on occasion. I don't think many people are really familiar with the word.
Thank you for going with the Romanian pronunciation, it grinds my gears every time to hear the in-game pronunciation of it! It is pretty funny to hear a character say her own name wrong though lol

I had no idea what to expect from this video when I started it, but I certainly did not expect the conclusion to be that tall vampire lady's costume is historically accurate
You should check out the other villain of the game, Donna Benneviento. She's wearing a Victorian style full body mourning garment. I thought it looked pretty cool 😄
For the record, the French homage pronunciation is also acceptable in English: oh-MAHJ (with the French J). I actually don't know many people who say HOMM-idge
Excuse me, "a while"? I have been simping for Lady Dimitrescu since 19 January. She's like an intoxicating blend of Mae West, Dita von Teese, Antje Traue, and Elaine Hendrix. Also, I am so glad you are discussing this goddess. She's enough to make anyone question their sexuality or in my case, she just reaffirms. Castle Dimitrescu is the best section of the game, thanks to the lavish setting and lovely ladies that roam its halls.🍷🧛♀️
Omg. I imagine you playing Resident Evil and every time a female character shows up you give a little rundown of the possible inspiration for the outfit and move on xD. I would totally watch that, no matter how long the video/stream.
Nobody's talking about how the hype for tall vampire lady was so big the creator had to some out with a personal letter telling everyone how tall she was "including her heels". omg 07:30 is SUCH a LOOK
My favourite thing is that amidst this hype, they did a sponsored video with Kyle Hill (a science youtuber) to test what would happen if Lady D stepped on your face. The marketing team had a field day with it.
I love how her struggle with "homage" is the same one all English speakers have lol I say it like _fromage_ if it's alone in a sentence, ie "it's an homage to...", but in the stock phrase "pays homage" I say it the simpler way your computer offered

So fun fact, according to the Resident Evil wiki, a big inspiration in terms of overall vibe, aesthetic, and bearing was how Angelica Huston played Morticia Addams in the Addams Family movies. Which honestly, yeah I get it.

It seems like every channel type I’m subbed to is covering her (gaming, fashion, art) I can’t escape Tall Vampire Mommy.

She's too tall you'll spot her eventually

When you were talking about 1930’s skinny Hollywood women, I shouted “BUT MAE WEST”, but then you brought her up.
Thank you for giving her some shine 💕
I think the Mae West connection interesting in the speaking and mannerisms and the relationship to the dress very Meta: she's dressed in the 30s idea of Edwardian clothes.

Lady Dimitrescu is probably the only one who could snatch away Karolina's English
Somehow, Karolina continues to give me information about things I had 0 interest in or awareness of, and makes me 100% invested 🙀

I mean, sexuality is a continuum, so it's normal that the tall vampire lady appeals even to "straight" ladies, hehe

"can someone please bring my English back"
as a foreigner in England I relate so hard on tired days
It's so weird because English is my native language and I studied French for 7 years but can only functionally speak French when I'm deliriously tired. I once accidentally wrote half an exam essay in French (not for a French class) after cramming all night. At the end I just wrote "I'm sorry if you don't understand French. I tried to translate back into English but my brain isn't working."
@@frankiemillcarek6976 English is my second language and when writing essays I have to google translate a word or two back to Swedish so I can continue writing. This gets worse when I’m tired so I get what you mean lol
English is my third language and now I'm currently 2 years in studying French. The countless times I've written English in my French paper and vice versa.
As someone whose mother tongue is English, I have these days too.

For the record, the word "homage" can be pronounced the way you did at first, I think the way the phone did it is more common in the US.
I can’t speak for the entire US but at least in my region it’s “o-MADJ,” I’ve never heard it pronounced the way the phone said it
Yeah, I'm not sure on the second part of that, I've always heard it with "oh" and not "ho".
It's definitely supposed to be said as "Oh-Mahje" though I have heard the other pronunciation on occasion. I don't think many people are really familiar with the word.

You should check out the other villain of the game, Donna Benneviento. She's wearing a Victorian style full body mourning garment. I thought it looked pretty cool 😄
She doesn't get much screentime tho. We can only see her through a portrait and briefly at the end of that particular section.
