one of my favorite lyric videos (besides your elden ring song, that one's way too underrated) is probably LAHMIA - Her Frantic Call, althought it suffers a little with contrast issues with the brighter parts of the album artwork. It does basically everything you touch on in the video, from using individual layers of the artwork to having a band picture at the start. They also made great use of the instrumental parts of the song to give more info on the band and advertise the entire album (which I highly recommend btw) that the song is from.
As I understand it, the first rap music video was Rock Island in the opening of The Music Man -- cash for the merchandise, cash for the buttonhooks, cash for the cotton goods cash for the hard goods" etc.
Try "coeur de loup" by Philippe Lafontaine, They did everything you shouldn't (according to this video), and yet it works. Eventhough you might be sea sick by the end of the song. Unfortunately for copyright reasons it's kinda impossible now to find a decent version of the original video on the web (if you do please let me know).

Lacuna Coil - Never Dawn has the absolute best lyric video ever hands down. And good job on the video essay man

This might be one of the best videos you've ever put out!
wake up babe pagefire just dropped
hell yeah this is awesome
I like it when the lyrics come a little sooner than the sung words. I find it hard to follow when it only comes in the moment the word is sung.
