Recommendation for anyone who reads and likes Crust, Grind and Sludge go search up band called Slund, you won't be disappointed. Interesting mix of dirty, primordial tar-pit Sludge sound with fury and rage of Crust and Grind. Violence in form of music.
I love how they make these humorous videos and the same time have a tutorial, some history, bands and other interesting info and end up with a kick ass song and video. Can't wait for the next one.

@@AlencarFaulkner When I interviewed one of the guitarists in The Haunted in 2008 he said he'd been thinking about it a lot, and he had come to the conclusion that Sweden punched above its weight in terms of quantity and quality of bands produced because of a network of youth clubs that the government had put it place: If you were a kid you could go there, borrow instruments, rehearse and even play shows. Plus free music lessons in school. And according to the book Rockonomics the reason the Swedish Govt put in place that system was because Sweden made so much money with ABBA. That's right: ABBA is the reason for almost all of the bands on that list, and more. (And a progressive, pro-social government willing to invest in the cultural development of its youth. But mostly ABBA.)

The "dis being in so many names" thing comes from Discharge. The majority of crust punk bands see Discharge as a primary influence, so using names that had the same first three letters seemed like a good idea seemingly.

There were a few Crusties that hung around with our crowd in the UK in the 90's. When I first heard Hardcore Crusty Punk, I was like "Hang on, when did they switch from a bit smelly, but mostly harmless, to being so frigging lively?". I can't remember the names of those in the foreground. The band *Water Torture* (Pillbox LP 2014, Self Titled 2011) also does a nice blend of sludge and grind/powerviolence.
There needs to be a doom how to, but mainly death/doom As the other forms are just too boring. Set BPM to 12.
