    New MacBook Pro 13 M2 Review! This will give us an idea of how it performs but most likely you should just buy the MacBook Air! Also, if you missed it I released some Amazing Laptop Accessories Under $30 which you can find here - ruclips.net/video/sgq27UUa3Xk/видео.html

    I watched a bunch of videos trying to convince me to buy the M2 MacBook Air over this one and just couldn't do it. I ended up buying this one because 1) it has fans, 2) I weirdly like the design over the new one, and 3) I'm one of few people that really like the Touch Bar and what it can do.

    The fans are a fairly big deal.
    Being able to install TG Pro and leave the fans spinning at a low RPM has been great with my M1. I noticed fairly recent improvements when playing WoW Classic compared to when they were off.
    Then there’s the touch bar. BetterTouchTool has made me really enjoy this feature.
    Lastly… the bezels. It’s strange… they always look large in photos. But when I use my machine, they seem really small. I don’t notice them one bit.
    The only real thing holding me back is that, the M1 is still perfectly fine for my use.

      I would have liked to see Apple use the MacBook Pro 14 Chasis but exclude the pro-motion, Mini LED display and equip it with M2. They wouldn’t have to offer more than 16 GB of ram and 2TB of storage because if you are spending for those upgrades, then the M1 pro equipped 14” pro will not be much more expensive.

    I just purchased an M2 Pro 13" (^this machine) mainly for music production. It's the 8gb / 512gb version. I use FL Studio and I can load many, many fairly intensive plugins (Omnisphere, Kick 2, etc.) and it has ZERO lagging issues. The plugins I use aren't all entirely optimized for Apple silicon, either. Granted, audio production doesn't require much in the way of video processing. Now, i will say the 515 SSDs are faster than the 256 SSDs they're putting in the M2 Pro 13s. But... with that in mind... this is a very capable machine from purely a processing standpoint, even with 8gb of ram. I compared it to the 14" M1 Pro in the store. The M2 13" Pro (^this/my machine) felt every bit as snappy in everyday tasks, if not more so (vs. the 14" M1 Pro). And it cost about $400 less. And it has better battery life. And it's handier to carry around. So... there's my case for the M2 13" Pro.

      It's the Ports.
      Are there then any suggestions for external port splitters that replicate the exact power coming from the Laptop? Or are you one yo save and run your work directly from laptop?

    As a music/audio guy who is late to the Apple silicon game, it’s the best option for me; active cooling for long mix/tracking sessions and the occasional video edit; small form factor that I can travel easily with; Touch Bar is useful for certain things and when I need function keys, it’s usually on a desk where I have a keyboard
    Screen doesn’t matter as much to me but the better ram over the air is welcome
    I had a Mac mini with an i5 that was my main desk setup but this has replaced that as a do it all studio piece and travel piece in one; I understand I’m a niche market, but being able to save the extra $400 for a similarity spec’d 14 inch has given me money for a thunderbolt 3 dock and some hubs

    The M2 Mac Pro exists for the same reason that the iPhone SE 2016, 2020 and 2022 exists. It is a previously obsolete device with a CPU upgrade which means that it can use existing components and so is very cheap to manufacture. Yes, 16GB for pro-multitasking. This proves, if it needed proving that Apple were spot on with limiting the M1 iPads to using Stage Manager; when you use pro apps then memory runs out and apps crash, whether in Macs or iPads, 16GB is the sweet spot for a great experience when you are doing pro stuff.
    I would add that the MB Pro 13 is used extensively in business and Enterprise and mine was bought for my business. This is another demographic that will buy this, but consumers will def lean towards the new Air.
    The improvements are apparent, including faster RAM, 50% more bandwidth, media engines, 25% extra GPU, 20% extra multi-core CPU, stronger battery life, ISP making webcam look better, etc, so with 3nm delayed until at least 2023, I think Apple were right to do an M2 (AKA M1+), as these are improvements worth having. The MB Pro 13 may not outdo the stellar sales of last year but I suspect many Windows OEMs would be happy to have a product that will sell this well even with influencers trashing it!

There is simply no good option. All the models have their pros & cons. The M2 isn’t a real Pro processor at this price range. This machine is for games. Apple was late working at Blender, and the new Metal 3 was written to use what they learned. The 3nm M2 needs hardware ray tracing and various other changes for 3D and TSMC didn't have time, so Apple went ahead with some of the most critical parts using 5nm and shipped it in an antique chassis so game developers can get coding.
    Apple gently dislikes Intel, but they loathe NVIDIA.

    • @tonyburzio4107
      @tonyburzio4107 2 года назад

      The last and final Blender Metal port was not released because Apple "couldn't" sign it. I think they didn't want Microsoft to figure out what they are doing and how fast they really got the new 3nm M2 to run games. We're talking almost $4 Billion a quarter in gaming profits on the line.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 2 года назад

      Yes, Apple are trying to get bigger in gaming as they know that they can get great results with Apple Silicon. Obviously Windows has a big lead so do not expect a leap above X86, but I think in 2-3 years gaming on Macs will become quite acceptable.

    Apple is doing a grave disservice to their customers by calling this a “pro.” It should just be the “MacBook” because it’s a little beefier than the air but is not a true pro device in the way the 14” is. The far superior I/O and display as well as the increased memory bandwidth, even better cooling, faster CPU and the increased number of GPU cores in the 14” pro mean that it is totally worth the cost premium if you can afford it.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 2 года назад +2

      I think if you take the moniker of any brand device seriously then you are doing a disservice to you sensibility. The MB Pro 13 has never been Pro, as it has never, even in its Intel days, had a dGPU. So you are mistaken believing it is part of the pro lineup. It really should be a MB Air Pro, and may end up being called that next year when Apple revamps it. It is nominally an ultrabook and you should treat it as such.

    • @Piketom1
      @Piketom1 2 года назад

      @@andyH_England A 13” pro made a lot of sense during the intel days even though the 15” and later 16” models were the real pro devices. A 14” MacBook Pro like we have now wasn’t really possible while Apple was using intel processors. I completely agree with your comment though.

    the 15 inch Macbook Pro from 2012 even had 16gb ram as standard configuration. That apple is still selling 8gb makes people to upgrade for 220€ here. When you upgrade the ssd too you can just buy the 14 inch model which is in every aspect way better.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 2 года назад

      The 13 inch MB Pro has always started at 8GB of RAM, so that is irrelevant. The 13-inch MB Pro has never been a Pro as in the Intel days it never had a dGPU. So ignore the Pro moniker, common sense says you should never take what something is called literally; eg the S22 Ultra is def not Ultra.

      I have 2018 and 2022 MacBook Pro 13". While they look exactly the same. It is night and day difference with the fan and heat dissipation and battery life. The M2 processor never heats up and I dont even recall ever hearing the fan. (I mostly browse web and watch RUclips videos though)
      On top of that you get 12 hours battery watching RUclips on M2 compared to 2-3 hours of the intel processor or any other windows laptop. I feel like a boss when I leave the house without a stupid bulky charger like normal people do 🤣🤣🤣
      The only thing I will suggest is you get the Apple Care. My screen stopped working 13 months after the 1 year warranty. I'm hearing reports from some other people that the display might not be the best, so make sure you are covered.
      Also TouchBar is the only thing that lets you fast forward Ads. I dont know any other device by default that lets you do so.
