I actually played this version as a kid, but I'd always close out of fear whenever the rokkaku police rolled up. If only I could have selected the tutorial, then I truly would have been able to dick around how I wanted. Thankfully I did give the game a chance again with the Steam version, and I managed to suffer through mastering the controls to beat the game. Honestly, I'm glad the IOS got me curious about the series, as I did play some of JSRF and beat BRC. Really hyped for the new third game!
The IOS port was the first version I 100% this game on, so naturally I was pissed when it stopped working, not only because of the loss of my 1st 100% profile but I also spent $20 (or $10 I don’t remember I just know it had at least one 9 and 99 cents on the app price) on it and now have nothing to show for it
Awesome stuff!!! I wish more console games were ported to mobile & treated android/ios like a proper game platform of its own... Would've played this to completion on my ipad lol
Id say the reason why we don’t get proper games there anymore is because a lot of mobile users prefer free games instead of buying software on AppStores Which is why we usually have free games with microtransactions. And they kinda work in context of the mobile usage. You most likely spend 5 minutes on quick bite sized game like cut the rope with small levels instead of big game like jet set radio. That being said these big games are def great in situation where u gotta wait long time and all u have is a phone lol.

They put this port on almost everything back then even the vita
