With Qualcomm sacking Samsung Fabs and Samsung HO investigating why their fabrication process is so bad, it is hard for a same person to buy an Exynos S22 unless they gamble that they get one of the better QC chips. I would say after a week of having my S22U that it is a poor user experience. Specs and features are all fine and dandy but when the user experience sucks then no 10X zoom can compensate for such a poor experience.
@Sullivan.M I am getting 2-3hr SoT on my Exynos s22U in the first week in a day which includes standby. That is on wifi only. Have not tried 5G yet. Obviously supposed to improve with adaptive battery and ML. My RAM management is what is killing me at the moment, only keeps about 8 apps in memory and then starts killing them (8GB version). I can keep about 40 live on my iPhone 13 Pro Max! Terrible so far so can only get better!
That's dreadful. Like HTC U Ultra battery life. Hopefully the battery adapts to your usage and improves. But for me, battery life can be a real deal breaker. And these Samsung phones are all flagships in their own right with prices to match. I would say battery is one of the basics or should I say a basic necessity
@@andyH_England 2-3 hrs SoT is unacceptable. That is Galaxy S6 levels of abysmal. I just got the S22 yesterday, hope I didnt make a grievous mistake by getting a phone that's going to need charges after just 5 hours of use......
4 years of major software updates, this is big advantage ofer the s21fe
Err, how? You do know the FE is also getting 4 years right? That's android 16...
@@thesocialintrovert nope the FE gets 3 major updates then a year of smaller updates, the s22 gets 4 years of major updates and then a year of smaller updates for a total of 5 years of software support
@@clmfilms8103 err, check your source again. 4 OS Updates for the FE.
Brilliant review. Thanks for picking aspects out of the device that other reviewers didn’t mention or missed. A bit disappointed with the battery life of the exynos. I thought this time around it would have been good. Also to note, it seems there are a few apps and games yet to be updated to fully support the AMD gpu on the S22 series.
@Salomonus oh, that’s a real shame :(
to save battery, turn off 120hz. turn off bluetooth and GPS. its not that difficult. mine lasts all day. duhhhhhh
Everything that made Samsung Samsung is giving up the curved edges the headphone jack the expandable storage and now even the charger so what reason is there to stick with Samsung none they made the Samsung s22 look like an iPhone. Keep it up Samsung maybe you can get in all the iPhone people to use Samsung and lose all of your own people
So what phone are you using now . Fyi no flagship phones have any of the things you mentioned only !ow end phones
@@phillippugh2161 Sony phones....
@@jesusbarrera6916 yeah ...Sony not even the Japanese care about Sony phones but hey your money
My Galaxy 7 still works perfectly.
Ok ???? Thanks for sharing 😊
You haven't run out of storage on your phone? I couldn't download any more apps on my s9 plus because i maxed my 64gb storage space.
@@MissSmurfey The main purpose for my phone is basically communication. The rest I just use for 3 idle games and a few apps for purchasing food and other stuff.
Does this device have better battery life than S21 FE ?(Snapdragon)
Definitely not, the S22 has 3700mAh while the S21FE has 4500mAh. In terms of battery life, screen time and things like that.. the S21FE is better.
I don't know, I wouldn't mind buying the S22 but the 3700 battery, kind of turning me off it really.
I got the S22+ instead and its better than the S22.
Samsung Where's the IR blaster where is expandable storage with these wonderful cameras you're going to want a micro SD card
Haha dude that stuff is never coming back 😂😂 I guess you'll be using that old s4 for ever
Nobody needs the curved display. The only thing it gives you is that the display breaks easily. Look at how bad the ultra is in drop tests. The curve is with the ugly form factor the only reason I couldn't buy the ultra and picked the s22+ instead - and I'm loving it
Whole reason I avoiding upgrading to Galaxy S21 was the camera bump, so a smaller bump is better to me. Also hated curved edges on my current S10 so won't miss it because it just caused too many unintentional palm touches. So sounds like I have the total opposite preferences than the reviewer.
the portrait video mode is so bad!! how about the normal video mode?
good review, thanks! I also like that size of this device, i hope we'll get an even more compact one from sony this year 😁
why do these 'tech reviewers', scratch that, I mean 'freelance salesmen', never talk about how ridiculously hot these devices get after 10 minutes of basic use?
I like the new camera bump set-up.
everything i felt about this series is all covered here according to me the most appropriate review
Why does nobody mention that the regular model and the plus model only has 1080p? My old s10+ has 1440p........ 1080p in 2022 on a flagship phone is just plainly shameful!
Can you actually see the difference between fhd and 1440p on a 6˝ screen? Be honest with yourself.
Your s10+ was also bigger and had different ppi probably. Resolution isn’t the only factor that matters for a sharp screen
@@spacedd897
You are wrong.
s10+ has 6.4" screen with a 522ppi
s22+ has 6.6" screen with a 393ppi
Lower ppi = worse
Resolution plays a big factor.
The only technical reason to limit s22+ is to preserve battery, but then just make 1440p optional in the settings, just like in the s10+
The real reason is, Samsung wants to limit 1440p to the Ultra model, to try and sell more of those.
Whats the point of you commenting if you have no idea what you are talking about?
Galaxy s6 had 1440p screen. I can easily tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p screen. I was using samsung but I've switched to iphone over a year ago and I can notice a difference between 1440p and 2160p video on youtube (because of youtube compression not because of pure resolution) so yeah... it is important for me
@@Lesauceify making it optional makes no difference in battery when you change it in the settings. The screen draws same power regardless of you setting it to 1080p or 1440p. That’s why it need to be only 1080p
If the S23 has a much more efficient chip(SNAP8G2), the base model would be amazing
Check out my doozie..S22 in green. Not a review just a color preview. This is one well built phone!!.. Great video btw
I can only buy Samsung phones for other features but not the camera. They have actually failed in the camera area
I have a galaxy s10 before the s22 amd I prefer the s10 by far!! It is lightweight amd also my s22 is doing all kinds of weird things loke freezing ect

Yup trust me s22 camera with snappy snapdragon is much better than exynos
Its exynos is not bad but snapdragon is much better and same for videos even portrait mode
Huh there practically the same not sure what videos you've been watch . And the exynos chip runs cooler ....much better ??? Not hardly
@@phillippugh2161 wow wow do not feel offended i agree to disagree
But snapdragon is still better than exynos
Samsung is using and making both phones performance same wait for the new update snapdragon gpu is 30% faster and it throttling is only with games like genshin otherwise its way faster and smoother experience
@@Foodiepatrol well you I both im sure have seen on RUclips the side by side gaming videos..right..an I see no difference in real world comparison an in the end that all that matters. No different then iPhone power advantages on paper geekbench numbers don't mean jack in real world day to day exynos runs cooler an the battery is about the same when Samsung updates for game play they both will get the update equally the race to have the most powerful chip is just stupid in something so thin
@@phillippugh2161 agreed bro its just silly

Samsung S22 or S22 plus?
S22+ all day long. Bigger display, bigger battery, faster 45W charging.
